#Neve Tzuf Halamish

Allow me to translate the following for you.

In the meantime, a CBS headline on the events read: “3 Palestinians, 3 Israelis killed in violence over Jerusalem shrine.” Fox News reported: “3 Palestinians, 3 Israelis killed in violence over holy site.”

An NBC headline said: “Al Aqsa Mosque Clashes: 6 killed as Jerusalem Shrine Tensions Worsen.” And the New York Times: “Deadly Violence Erupts in Standoff Over Mosque in Jerusalem.”

What this means is, in the middle of Shabbat supper Friday night a 19 year old piece of חרה from a Arabic village came into the home of a family enjoying the meal, and they had gathered to celebrate the birth of a new grandchild that very morning. The terrorist knocked on the door, and as the family had invited the whole community to come share in their joy at the birth of their new grandchild, they opened the door thinking it was one of their guests. He at once began stabbing the family.

The Victims

It seems that Neve Tzuf – Halamish does have a security fence, covered with touch sensors. And if the sensors are tripped it activates an alarm and the security team from Halamish responds. And they did, according to the settlement’s security coordinator, Victor Vaknin. If the volunteers see that the fence has been breached, they call the IDF to come search the area. That didn’t happen Friday night. That part of the fence butts up against some woods, and they thought an animal had triggered it again. The bucket of chum terrorist had worn a white shirt that night, knowing he would blend in, and even if seen, no one would think anything of it. This is the same section of fence that last November three buckets of chum started a fire that destroyed 17 homes and damaged 25 others, according to Victor Vaknin. He said they have asked for additional cameras, and to close the road that the terrorists are using. They’ve been asking for seven months. I heard one report that attempted to blame the security detail for being too slow to respond to the alarm, and implied had they been quicker they might have caught him. Personally I fail to see how such speculation and attempts to deflect guilt for not being able to provide the requested additional resources onto a potential already grieving security group will improve anything.

On Monday, the military said it received the requests from Halamish and passed along its recommendations to the Defense Ministry for final approval, which it has yet to receive.

But this is not new news. Samaria Regional Council reveals government has failed to provide adequate funding to maintain security arrangements in Samaria.

An internal document from the Samaria Regional Council’s security division revealed the existence of serious security failures in many Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.

The document presents a series of significant gaps in the security systems of dozens of communities, the cost of which would total tens of millions of shekels.

“In some of the council’s communities, the security apparatus is in bad shape and continues to deteriorate, due to the lack of a budget,” the document states.

The Samaria Regional Council noted that a budget of NIS 43.7 million ($12.25 million) will enable the renewal of the security fences, security roads and security lights in the council’s communities.

Chaim and Tzila Fogel live there as well. They are the parents of the Fogel family murdered in 2011. On March 11, 2011, two falestinian terrorists entered the home of Rabbi Ehud and Ruth Fogel and butchered them, and three of their six children. An 11-year-old Yoav, a 4-year-old Elad, and 3-month-old Hadas.

The Fogel Family

So as the bucket of chum slaughtered the family, Michal, the wife of one of the victims, 36 year old Elad Salomon, grabbed 5 small children, stuffed them in a room and as the door had no lock hung on to it and blocked it with her body. She doesn’t know for how long, and called the police. What finally stopped the slaughter was a good guy with a gun. It turns out there was an IDF solider on leave. Not only was he on leave, he was home that night. He heard the screams, grabbed his gun ran over and shot the terrorist through the window. The other victims are Elad’s father, Yosef Salomon, 70, and his sister Haya, 46. His mother Tova was also attacked and stabbed, but she is in hospital. She says the terrorist laughed in her face as he waved the knife.

The soldier’s mother explains how it happened.

In the wake of this the IDF increased patrols and nabbed 25 bucket of chum with ties to Hamass. Among them? A member of the Falestinian Authority legislative council member. You know, the F.A., Israel’s “peace partner”. The town is setting up a new outpost and blocking what they call “the road of death”. Probably a good plan since no one else seems to be helping with that.

So what has been the reaction from the arab world to the slaughter of an old man, and his two middle aged kids?

You REALLY need to watch this, you REALLY do.

https://www.facebook.com/103473109738311/videos/1422678237817785/

And then there is this

Photos of celebrations, these came from IsraellyCool. I follow good people on Twitter. You know this is the typical reaction in the arab world to the slaughter of Jews, right? They also hand out candy.

And how would you feel if your child took the life of three innocent human beings?

Happily, the psycho witch has been arrested now, she has been publicly calling for more Jews to be murdered.

Pieceful Falestinians

So why do these pieceful arabs do this?

One reason, Hate taught in Arab schools caused massacre, and guess what? Our tax dollars pay for this.

President Trump, I don’t think the pieceful falestinians and Abu Mazen took you seriously when you said incitement had to stop. In fact, I know he didn’t. He called for another “Day of Rage”. And the idiots listened. The bucket of chum had written on Facebook earlier that “There is no point to living without the Al-Aqsa Mosque,” had bought his knife days earlier in preparation for carrying out an attack. In fact the Falestinian Authority has picked him up 3 months ago because they suspected him of planning an attack. The metal detectors have been up a little over a week now.

“Living without Al-Aqsa”? Where would the stupid stupid man get an idea like that? Nothing has happened to the mollusk where the arabs store the rocks and Molotov cocktails. Oh, from Abu Mazen and people like the member of the Knesset who went out and incited the arabs to kill and riot.

And then theres this thing about getting along with Jordan. Why? Why on earth should Israel worry about getting along with Jordan and placate the wafk-os. An Israeli security official serving in the Israeli embassy in Amman, Jordan, was wounded Sunday night when he was attacked by a terrorist in his home adjacent to the embassy. Jordan holding Israeli Embassy guard who shot 2 after being stabbed

Why should Americans care about getting along with Jordan and trying to curry their favor? A Jordanian soldier to murdered 3 US instructors who were there training the Jordanians in counter-terror tactics. And then Jordan lied and tried to cover it up with several different stories.

And someone needs to tell Rex Tillerson he looks stupid copying barry’s old State Department reports and just changing some wording. Better yet, tell President Trump to give Tillerson his walking papers.

What else plays into it? Those stupid stupid UN decisions saying that Hevron, where the Cave of Machpelah is located is not Jewish. You know who is buried in the cave? Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebecca, Jacob and Leah. Not Jewish? The Temple Mount, not Jewish. The U.N. is un-hinged.

It seems every time they come out with one of these stupid decisions Israelis pay the price with more arab riots.

Israel needs to stand firm on leaving the metal detectors in place. There are 11 gates for muslims to go through, there is 1 for everyone else, and it has pretty much always had a metal detector. Muslims can pray on the Temple Mount, no one else can. Any other country that had undergone attack like this would be thinking about protecting their citizens. Well, maybe not Germany, they don’t seem to care much.

Why else?

Terrorist: I attacked soldiers so PA would cover my debt

Interrogation of Palestinian terrorist proves: PA payments motivate terror

This is absolutely about sovereignty on the Temple Mount and not metal detectors.

Dr. Tsvi Sadan is always a good read. It’s Not About Metal Detectors, Dummy

This is a war for sovereign control of Temple Mount

And the Falestinian Authority admits they have no desire to work for peace. No metal detectors, no cameras. You have no right to stop us from killing whenever and where ever and whomever we want to. We don’t want the cameras that Jordan wanted to install because they accused Israelis of violating the Al-Aqusa and they will catch is us on tape attacking people.

And this is an old video from Moshe Feiglin, of Zehut. He’s pretty good at seeing how things will play out.

The murder scene

Here’s what I want to know. How much did I pay for this? How much money did my government steal from me to finance this slaughter of innocent people? How much per ounce of blood covering the floor the sofa and the stairs? How many hours did I work to pay for that shed blood? How much per life? How much did I pay for the Fogel family, for the Salomon family, for Hallel Yaffa Ariel who was an American citizen? How much for the two Druze police officers? Because I’m very sick and tired of it. In fact, I don’t want to do it any more. What we’ve been doing isn’t working. We give money to help the “poor suffering falestinians” and Linda Sarsour the feminist heroine (the idiots) calls for a jihad in America, they build terror tunnels in Gaza, and kill people at random. There was another stabbing attack in Petach Tikvah Monday. This time an Israeli-Arab was stabbed by a pieceful Falestinian because he thought the man was Jewish. Then Abu Mazen incites and pays the killers, with my money. They teach the children in schools to hate Jews and kill them. In the UN schools I might add.

ENOUGH. ENOUGH.

We need solutions. I have some ideas. In no particular order.

First, President Trump needs to cut ALL funding to the F.A. It gets cut by half as of NOW. RIGHT.NOW. The next attack of ANY kind, on a citizen, solider, police officer will result in the remaining half being cut by half. The next attack, it’s gone. No money at all, period. Three strikes, you’re out. And if the U.N. increases their donation to the F.A., we cut our funding, or end it, to the UN. Abu Mazen is going to pay killers. If some of the money actually did go to the people, maybe they will catch on. Oh, we kill people and we don’t have money for chewing gum. No more money for Falestine. What do we do with those funds? I’ll come back to that. The muslims in Israel that want to live in peace there may decide they have had enough of the trouble these terrorists are causing and sort some of it out themselves. I have no doubt they could.

Israeli Service dogs, fur missiles. I dearly love fur missiles.

Terrorists worst nightmare, child’s friend

The problem with this one is it takes time, and a lot of money. And as we’ve seen above, the lack of funding has already created problems. Another problem is muslims don’t like dogs. They say they are unclean. I’m not even going to swat at that low hanging fruit. But in some parts of countries where there is a large concentration of muslims, they start posting signs that you are no longer allowed to walk your dog in public parks. They will kill the dog and then the family.

Israel needs to quit listening to some of the outrage from some of the “Jewish Community”. Turns out some of those don’t actually have any real Jews in them.

I agree with Jack Engelhard, Time to deport Abbas. But I would go further. Any terrorist, rather than being paid? Their family will be deported to Jordan, or Syria, there’s lots of room there. The family will not be paid for the land, they forfeited that when they raised their child to be a killer, or when they didn’t stop it. Israel will take possession of the land forfeited by the family’s inability to live as good citizens. Think you’re going to get paid from “deep pockets Abu”? Best leave a forwarding address. No more destroying a room in the terrorists home, because they’ve been deported. But I did see a novel idea, destroy the village. It seems some of these villages have produced many terrorists. But as he says, it would call for a very strong leader.

So what to do with the funds we will not be giving the Falestinian Authority. I asked a trusted source in Israel a few questions.

To get a gun in Israel, you need a “good reason”, like some of the states here, like for example Jersey, where Carole Brown died because she was waiting for her permission slip. It is fairly common for the people in Judea and Samaria to have handguns. Rifles are only for security people or the IDF. There are places for them to get trained. I know that most do serve in the IDF, the reason I asked this question was because some might have chosen to do their national service in a different way.

So here is my proposal: America begins at once, with the one half we have cut from the F.A. to arm EVERY adult living in Judea and Samaria with a handgun. And those that need training, the excessive funds can cover that. Would you care to speculate how fast the willingness of future “martyrs” of Falestine will dissipate when they realize there is a almost 100% chance the next person they attack will kill them? And that will not stop some, I know, they want to die. But what it will do, is save the lives of the Jews living in the Biblical heartland of Judea and Samaria. No more Salomon families grieving, no more Fogel families. We have seen in America that the gun does not always have to be used, but the knowledge that your victim maybe armed is a big deterrent. And if the worst happens? As a lawyer buddy used to say, you may only need a gun once. But if you need it, you will need it very badly. And if you do not have it when you need it, you most likely will not need it again. Or something along those lines.

To those that say “Oh, I don’t want to take sides!” You’ve been taking sides, that’s why the terrorists are sure they’re going to be paid, and the money is being redirected to save lives rather than take them. Good plan.

And just to update this, I wrote most of this column only a couple days ago, that’s how fast things change. Not only have the metal detectors come down, Israel is also taking down the security cameras that have been up there quite a while. Why would they do this? It’s something we’ve never seen arabs do, called taking hostages. Yeah, I can’t even type it with a straight face.

Remember the wounded Embassy guard attacked by a 16 year old Jordanian? Well, Jordan decided the wanted to “question him” Israel said, nope, he’s got diplomatic immunity. Then the Jordanians surrounded the embassy calling for death to Israel, and the whole staff was trapped in there. Ambassador, seriously wounded guard and everyone else. And Jordan refused to let the guard go, everyone else stayed in solidarity. Well, till the mobs surrounded the embassy, then they didn’t have much choice. But the security guard and the embassy staff are safely back in Israel now. All it took was taking down the metal detectors and cameras. Living Temple Mount visitors vulnerable. Like I said, no more. No more killed at their Shabbat table and no more shot on the Temple Mount. NO.MORE.

Over The Top

Let me just start out by saying this column is not so much about defending President Trump as it is about venting. Venting that the left has now decided to step up the deceive and control game, and now “regular” people are doing their bit.

Second Amendment supporters have know for ages that cnn (#FakeNews) has been deceptive in their reporting. Americans that are unfamiliar with firearms and the shooting sports are easily deceived apparently by the cnn news readers. What’s not to believe? Nice clothes, nice hair (except Rachel Madow on msnbc, who makes me think of Kramer on Seinfeld) well modulated voices, how could they not be trustworthy?

A police officer named Leroy Pyle did an excellent video years ago explaining the “assault” rifle scam.

But G-d bless and protect James O’Keefe of Project Veritas. He has been dumping fantastic amounts of tape on cnn (#FakeNews) and their producer really does think American voters are stupid as sh#t. Shades of Jonathan Gruber, eh? Holy wikileaks Batman, O’Keefe is a one man truth squad.

So after all the false stories cnn has spread, been forced to retract because they weren’t true, had producers resign over stories they ran that they were caught out on, they are seeing ramifications. CNN’s Anonymous Source Proven Wrong About Trump It seems our social media savvy President got hold of a little gif from a old wrestlemania clip. Someone had doctored the clip and put the cnn (#FakeNews) logo over the other persons face so President Trump appeared to be attacking cnn (#FakeNews).

Predictably the media had kittens. The president was encouraging violence against reporters! How many reporters have been attacked by conservatives? None that I know of. Some have been attacked at “peaceful protests” by antifa and blm. Hey cnn (#FakeNews) how about telling the truth about some of those “peaceful protests”, how about doing some investigative journalism and finding out who’s behind them? Oops, guess that doesn’t fit their narrative.

CNN (#FakeNews) instead sent their ace investigative reporter Andrew Kaczynski to find out WHO did the offending gif. I kid you not. I would really urge you to read the link about Kaczynski, he’s a real piece of shi work. So old Andy tracked down the Reddit users who made the gif. And threatened to Dox him, unless he apologized profusely and promised never to do ANYTHING EVER again to annoy cnn (#FakeNews), whatever it might be, they didn’t specify. The gif was removed from the Reddit users account, he apologized profusely, begged forgiveness. And cnn (#FakeNews) crowed about their journalistic achievement of threatening a private citizen into submission. Such hatred and bile are usually reserved for conservative women, like Sarah Palin or Ann Coulter.

Legality schmegality. Probably within a day Sen. Ted Cruz informed them they may well have committed an illegal act. Ted Cruz says CNN might have committed a crime when they did this. Oopsie.

But it gets even better. Cnn (#FakeNews) and crack reporter (Buzzfeed reject) Kaczynski may well have identified and threatened the wrong person. Yep, they out-faked themselves. They blackmailed the wrong dude. High journalistic standards indeed. Did CNN Identify The Wrong Person?

I’m sure CNN is still trying to understand what went wrong. They were so sure the gullible people were fooled. But, last I’ve heard, they aren’t making any efforts to correct the problems, because hey, ideology and delegitimizing the lawfully elected President is more important than you know, mundane “news”.

But, I suppose Home Depot, Lowe’s and other stations are incredibly grateful to cnn (#FakeNews) for continuing on with their ideological suicide. Now Nick-at-Night, Home & Garden TV, Investigation Discovery, ESPN, Discovery channel and others are beating cnn (#FakeNews) in the ratings. One of the others beating them is MSLSD NBC. I wonder how many heard about the Freudian slip of Mika Brzezinski? She was complaining about President Trump, and let slip it is THEIR job to tell people what to think. Yeah, boy howdy.

But it’s not just the #MSM and #MediaBias that can’t stand that someone thinks something other than what they think people should. I got a email from a friend around the Independence Day. It wasn’t one of the fake ones, it was real.

Relax, Trump is stone cold sane By Dr. Keith Ablow

Well, apparently one of the people he sent it to was a liberal. I first noticed this phenomena when George W Bush was in office. If you sent a email a liberal didn’t like they hit “reply all” and told all your family and friends how stupid it was. A cousin of mine sent out a email and someone replied to all. I’ve had people forward emails I sent them. The liberal hit reply all and DEMANDED an apology from me. I sent him a link, and said “NUTS”.

This time a liberal, or just very rude person didn’t like the email my friend sent, so he hit reply all.

Happy 4th of July.

The issue of Trump’s actions or his sanity or his temperament is most likely A-OK for those who voted for and support Trump.

What you failed to mention is the ongoing investigations of Trump and his associates regarding Russia and Traitor like actions and Traitor like appearances.

Simple question on this 4th of July celebrating American Independence and our American Way of Life …. Do you support traitors?

I’d had enough. My happy little holiday was interrupted by this baloney. So I thought I’d help out the poor soul who is obviously illiterate in computer etiquette.

If you look carefully at the top of your email program you will see a”Reply” AND a “Reply all” button choice. Ooops, Apparently you inadvertently hit the reply ALL choice. Thus you subjected me and everyone else Dave sent this email to hearing your response. Speaking for myself, I could care less what you think. I do care what Dave chooses to forward and read it with interest.

In the future please, pay attention to “Reply” and “Reply ALL”.

Attention to detail matters.

Son of a gun, my helpful efforts were unappreciated.

On the 4th of July … his rant on Trump was over the top and I care less what you feel about that. Let’s watch what the investigations turn up on Trump.

SERIOUSLY? You impose your unwanted presence into my happy little email home, during a dinner party and essentially pass gas, and then attempt to tell my what my friend sent is “over the top”?? You sanctimonious jerk.

I’m sure you are embarrassed at not having paid enough attention to detail when you chose to reply. You replied to EVERYONE that Dave sent the email to. I don’t know you, I’m sure some of the them don’t know you, you are behaving as the equivalent of a boorish party crasher.

Whatever Dave or anyone choose to send, it is NOT yours to determine if it is “over the top” or not, you see, that’s where individual freedom comes in. WE all get to decide for OURSELVES if it is over the top or not. YOU are not in charge of U.S. and YOU don’t get to tell us if it is or not.

I’m VERY tired of getting emails from people I don’t know that have taken exception to something one of their friends, family, acquaintances or their insurance agent has sent and to express their childish displeasure decides to “shame” the sender, or pitch their email hissy fit and hit “reply all”. You have now stamped your feet and attempted to behave as a petty tyrant by telling a whole group of people what will be acceptable and unacceptable to them, because it is unacceptable to you.

Since you apparently do not know this, the mature, adult thing to do when confronted by an email you do not agree with is to merely hit the delete button, NOT the reply all.

You may go seek your safe space now, I’m sure it’s been a very trying day for you, getting such an upsetting email from Dave, and then two from me.

Stay out of homes where you aren’t invited, don’t hit reply all. It will be ok.

I think, just me here, that for too long we’ve been polite when attempts were made to vilify conservative points of view. People were rude, hateful and we “took the high road”. Perhaps the time has come to cease. Perhaps the time has come to say “NUTS”. I’m tired of getting offended email from snowflakes that I don’t know, I didn’t send them email, I don’t want their email. Personally I’ve learned not to send email to someone who won’t appreciate it. If I do, on rare occasion, it’s a link to a story usually and I don’t send it to more than the person I’m communicating with. So when I get stuff like this back? I’m just done. If these people can’t learn to use either the “delete” key or the “reply” key as opposed to the “reply all”, they might not ought to be using a computer. But, then, I could just be cranky about it. Bet a quarter the person gets his news from cnn (#FakeNews).

So let’s see how I do with a little “CNN (#FakeNews) still reporting, shall we?

Evidence of Collusion with Russians FOUND!!

I first check CNN to see if they had picked up the story yet and run with it. So my cnn (#Fake News) search for the topic yielded two results. One about Newt Gingrich and empty symbols and one about former PM David Cameron of Englandistan. I was discouraged by this but not dissuaded in my quest for truth, justice and the American way of life, and some good coffee.

So I persevered and checked to see if just maybe by some slight chance someone else had picked up on the story. Was I ever in luck!

(CNN #FakeNews) – America. This just in! Evidence has been found of a shocking collusion between the United States President and Russia! There is no word yet if this evidence is going to lead to the proof that the Russians hacked the US elections, but we are sure it will. If not, we’ll make it up as we go. A daring CNN reporter was able to secretly tape the US President as he spoke to Russia President, our camera man hid behind the potted plant to obtain the video. The proves the collusion we’ve been droning on about. We at CNN are very daring and edgy.

So whaddya think? Do I have a bright future with CNN (#FakeNews) or not?

If you want to watch the video CNN supplies with the title of “CNN: President Obama caught on open mic” here ya go, as you can see, they are not exactly identical.

CNN- tagline all the news that’s fit to fake, lie about, or obfuscate.

CNN anti Israel bias

CNN anti gun bias

CNN controversies

I can only hope that the backlash of it being made so clear that the #MSM has been deceptive in their news coverage about topics like this, that people will begin to question their reporting on those “evil black rifles”, and guns in general.

Support Your Local Sheriff, Maybe

One of my friends favorite movies is “Support Your Local Sheriff” with James Garner. I loved it too, he has such great delivery with his lines. Sometimes when we’re on the phone we might jokingly toss one of them into the conversation. I know it’s not a great copy of the movie, but you’ll get the point from the clips I put together, yeah, I love ya’ll that much!

But when the chips, or bullets, as the case maybe were down, it was Jake (Jack Elam) who came to the rescue wasn’t it? We’re still seeing incidents of law enforcement officers killed, sometimes while sitting in their cars. Despite the fact some of these officers were black, I’ve yet to hear of Black Labs Matter saying much of anything. These were people who wanted to make a difference in the world by helping people, seems like they could spare a second. Their lives matter too, didn’t they? I guess those officers didn’t have a “Jake” handy to watch their backs.

So I got to wondering about armed citizens involving themselves in active shooting situations.

Of course they do, there is a short list of them in this WaPo article by Eugene Volokh from 2015

There was a study done by the FBI in 2014, and it has what I think are some interesting bits in it.

In addition, though officers responded quickly (i.e., median time 3 minutes), shooters inflicted devastating damage beforehand. This adds to the growing evidence that citizens must have insight on how to respond. The FBI’s support for strong citizen awareness, detailed in the “Run, Hide, Fight” protocol, is endorsed by all other federal agencies. The data establish that when prepared, the potential victims themselves can stop the shooter.

Give a whole new meaning to “wait a minute” doesn’t it?

There was 110 Active Shooting incidents that met the criteria for the study occurring from 2000-2012.

Events by Year
The Number of People Shot and Killed

The primary location of ASEs. Business locales (e.g., retail stores, office buildings, and factories/warehouses) were the most frequently attacked locations. Schools, both K-12 and institutions of higher education, were the second-most attacked locations at 29 percent. Approximately 1 out of 5 ASEs occurred in outdoor environments. The other category includes places, like military bases and churches, that did not fit into one of the other categories. It also is worthwhile to note that 18 percent of the attackers went mobile during their attacks; that is, the perpetrator started at one location and then moved to another while still actively attacking. Most frequently, attackers simply walked to another nearby location, but in some cases they used an automobile to move between more distant attack sites.

Hmm, interesting. From looking at the list, it seems to me, the majority are “Gun Free Zones”. Business can choose I think if they want to be “Gun Free, except for the bad guy” of course. But I’m betting if you are in one of those big malls, the majority of them are posted, and probably the same terms apply for the businesses renting space there. Schools and colleges are of course no carry zones, and churches are often no carry and military bases have been since Bill Clinton.

So what did they use? I bet like millions of those evil, black rifles, right? Um, not so much.

In about 60 percent of the attacks the most powerful weapon used was a pistol. In 8 percent it was a shotgun, and the most powerful weapon used was a rifle in about 25 percent of the cases. Shooters brought multiple weapons in about one-third of the attacks. Perpetrators brought improvised explosive devices (IEDs) to the attack site in 3 percent of the cases and wore body armor in 5 percent.

Well that tears it! I’m going to start calling for IED control! Nobody needs and IED! Mind you, I expect it to be every bit as effective against criminals as their beloved “Gun Free except the criminal’s Zones”

Of the cases studied only 51% were still going on by the time Law Enforcement arrived, and remember, their median response time was 3 minutes.

Of the cases that ended before the police arrived, 67 percent (34) ended with attackers stopping themselves via suicide (29 cases) or by leaving the scene (5 cases). In the other 33 percent (17) of the cases that ended before the police arrived, the potential victims at the scene stopped the shooter themselves. Most commonly they physically subdued the attacker (14 cases), but 3 cases involved people at the scene shooting the perpetrator to end the attack.

And it appeared to me the majority of the cases occurred in GFZs, which could account for only 3 of the incidents being stopped by an armed citizen.

And this study didn’t include any of the terrorist attacks that have happened recently. Well, considering the Ft. Hood shooting was classified as “workplace violence”.

Since we’re seeing an increase in the attacks on both citizens and law enforcement it would seem to me like the two would be well served by having an large amount of civilians trained and carrying to save innocent lives, of both the law enforcement and civilians. But that depends on who you have elected to the office. So let’s look at a couple of different examples, shall we?

First up, we have Sheriff Wayne Ivey the Brevard County Sheriff in Florida. I admit it, I think this guy is awesome. He is calling for citizens to be armed, trained and tells of the training the Sheriff’s Office offers. How cool is he?

Then we have Austin Tx police chief Art Acevedo who takes a slightly different approach. He calls for neighbors to turn each other in if they are “gun enthusiasts” and are “full of hate” so the police can “vet” them. SCUSE ME??

But then I saw another video in the sidebar about the Austin Police Department. WOW. Apparently they have like literally NO crime in Austin. The police arrested a jogger, for jaywalking. And worse than jaywalking? She didn’t have her driver’s license on her, because she wasn’t driving, she was jogging. Papers please. They handcuffed her and threw her in the back of a squad car. Old Ace came out and defended it and said she was lucky worse didn’t happen to her. This is what Austin TEXAS elected?

Citizens, it does matter who you vote for, especially in local elections.

Law enforcement, do you really want to be this guy? There were at least some citizens that tried to help, but if the men attacking him had gotten his weapon away? What stops a bad guy with a gun when the only gun came from the only police present?

We Really Really Need a Better Plan

We’ve been told now for eons, that fewer guns will make us safer. We need to limit guns to be safe, to keep them out of the hands of “bad people”. England has done this. They did it a long time ago, then they installed spy cameras everywhere. Those are to keep you safer because no one can commit a crime without being seen. Yep. They still commit the crime, and who knows, perhaps the security camera provides great evidence. But for sure what it does provide, is a total lack of dang near anyplace without “Big Brother”. As most of us know, if something bad happens, the police will do their best to show up and protect you, to save a life. If that doesn’t pan out, they’ll do a dandy chalk outline and do their best to find out who did something bad to you, before you were a corpse, or maybe even after.

June 3rd there was another terrorist attack in London. A white van went crazy and began to mow people down reminiscent of the, but not to be confused with the terrorist attack on London Bridge of 22 March, 2017. What is it with those crazy vehicles in London? Driving on the wrong side of the road drove them mad? Oh! You mean there was a person involved? Laugh if you want, cnn (fake news) didn’t realize this. You probably won’t confuse it with the Manchester bombing attack on the 22nd of May, 2017. That was at an Ariana Grand concert. To be honest, I don’t care if I spell her name correctly or not. I wished she’d have stayed in Manchester, or better yet, goes to Syria or Gaza to serenade the poor people. Either way, after the attack she came out with the “don’t let hate win” blah blah blah blah blah”.

We will never be able to understand why events like this take place because it is not in our nature, which is why we shouldn’t recoil.

We will not quit or operate in fear.

We won’t let this divide us.

We won’t let hate win.

Ok, now you just sound stupid, because we do know.

The ever delightful Milo reminds us of Muslim Mayor of London’s comments after President Trump was elected.

“Donald Trump’s ignorant view of Islam could make both of our countries less safe,” he stated according to The Telegraph. “It risks alienating mainstream Muslims around the world and plays into the hands of extremists.”

“Donald Trump and those around him think that Western liberal values are incompatible with mainstream Islam – London has proved him wrong.”

And I suppose I’ll be a witch and remind everyone that Mayor is an elected position. The Daily Mail did raise questions about his suitability for the job of Mayor, what with his close ties to ISIS and all. Well, and he was a lawyer for a 9/11 terrorist Zacarias Moussaoui. And yet, he was elected. It doesn’t seem to be working out well.

So here’s how it does work out, in the real world of London. Not the world of daisy stew and freely frolicking unicorns. But the world of London.

Mayor Sadiq’s comments include “Terrorism is just part and parcel of living in a big city”. So, ok, it’s no big deal to Mayor Sadiq. How about it was printed in the ISIS newspaper there was going to be an attack? Wonder what they give for clip out coupons? But yes they have one, and what this means is Mayor Sadiq was warned. He knew there was going to be another attack. And he bravely, immediately did….nothing. UK Counter-Terrorism taped a call, and they did…nothing.

And so the religion of pieces attacked Londoners again.

Anti-self-defense Piers Morgan had moved back to the safety of the gun-free U.K. and he interviewed Mayor Sadiq. The whole video. Yeah, I’d been real curious about that myself.

Piers Morgan: “Where are the 400 jihadis still in London?… You’re the mayor! WHERE ARE THEY?”

Mayor Sadiq Khan: I can’t cover 400 people…

So, political correctness doesn’t seem to be doing well does it.

How about the wonderful gun-free zones? GFZs?

Dave Kopel tweeted that the un-armed police were running away from the attackers.

Witnesses said they saw two men stabbing people outside the well-known Roast restaurant in Borough market. A chef from the nearby Fish restaurant said: “I saw two guys with big knives downstairs outside Roast. They were stabbing people. The police were running away, they were community police. They were normal officers, they were running away.

There are also quotes by Todd Starnes. It seems that the defenseless citizens were hurling chairs and beer bottles at the attackers. And so how did that work out?

These three guys ran up and started stabbing this one girl. I was defenseless mate, I couldn’t do nothing.

And what was the reaction of the muslim community in London? Some of them?

Breitbart Jerusalem alleges to have obtained specific messages posted by ISIS following yesterday’s attack.

The outlet quotes ISIS member Abi Abdullah Alamasri as saying, “thanks to Allah, thank you, thanks to Allah, Allah is great, thanks to Allah from faith that he will make his promise reality and give victory (the the faithful).”

“Allah will bless the lions,” his message reportedly continues, mimicking language used by ISIS at the start of Ramadan calling for “lions” to attack innocents in celebration of the holy month.

“Allah will reward you as long as you run over and stab these infidels in the depths of their countries,” Almasri’s message reportedly continues.

“Put fear into their eyes, increase your hits, increase your attacks, don’t let them feel secure in their countries.”

You realize we’re in Ramadan, right?

So the GFZ thing not working so good, the political correctness? Towards the end of this video, shot in a pub where police are telling the patrons to cower on the floor you can hear a man say some pretty outspoken things about muslims. He is chastised by another patron for saying them telling him he’s an idiot, it’s not muslims as they are hiding on the floor from muslim terrorists. IF you can’t make out the sentences, on Milo’s web site they have subtitles, and it’s easy to hear.

How, oh how have they gotten so stupid?

Well, their Mayor tells them crap, and then there’s cnn (fake news) that got caught faking the news, again. It seems cnn staged Anti-ISIS Muslim Protesters. I don’t know if they’ve found out if the people were paid or not yet.

I guess the three muslim girls that attacked at stabbed a nursery school worker didn’t get the memo.

Katie, the victim of the brutal attack, was heading to work walking down a street in northeast London when she was approached by people brandishing a knife. They attacked her from behind, stabbed her in the arm and chanted “Allah”, but the police are not calling this a terrorist incident.

Ahh, I see

The cost of not knowing who is coming in and why is becoming very expensive. In terms of justice and economics.

There is a problem, a big problem and here’s how the left will react. Shamelessly swiped from a buddy on FB.

7 Phases of Leftist Social Media Reactions Post-Islamic Terror Attacks:

1) Express shock: “Oh wow. Cannot believe this is happening.”

The same thing happened last week, but, you know, details.

2) Send good “thoughts” & “vibes:” “Sending so many loving thoughts & happy vibes to London right now. ♥”

No one knows what that actually means, but, yeah, sounds good, so go for it.

3) Start hashtag: “#prayforlondon, y’all. seriously.”

Mind you, you don’t have to actually pray. Hashtag still super effective.

4) Get mad at anyone who dare mention Islam: “TERROR KNOWS NO RELIGION.”

Sure, radical Islamic terror has been responsible for 120 terroristic murders just since Ramadan started, but no one needs to be reminded of that. (It’s higher now)

5) Remind everyone of how evil Christians are. “White patriarchy has killed more people than ISIS, let’s not forget.”

Don’t mention that this isn’t true. Just roll with it.

6) Do absolutely nothing.

7) Repeat in 1 week.

But don’t worry, there’s no problem here in the good ol’ USA.

And I can’t believe this could be an essential thing to know in this day and age, but it might be.

Now, are all Muslims like this? No, of course not.

Marawi Muslim Saved 64 Christians From Beheading During ISIS Siege of City

Gee, if there were only, oh, I don’t know, some way to kind of sort them out. You know like check the backgrounds of people coming into the country. Check the backgrounds and associations of ones that are already in the country. And then decide on, oh, I don’t know, like a case by case basis. Maybe check out some of the mosques, it seems the government was certainly willing to check out Churches a while back.

We just really, really need a better plan.

The ER Lost A Patient

I just spent the day at a hospital Emergency Room (for reasons worthy of another column, but this is the wrong venue for that one). What’s relevant to TZP is that while I was there, they lost a patient.

Don’t start with the sympathy yet. He didn’t die.

They lost him:

“Hey, have you seen [xyz]?”
“He went to the restroom.”
“I checked; he isn’t there.”
“Maybe he’s in the other one.”
{insert pitterpatter of sneakered feet}
“He’s not there either.”
“Where did he go?”
“I don’t know. Look.”

There’s garbled talk of hospital security (who eventually showed up to search) and the Sheriff’s department, who also showed up. People in scrubs running up and down the hall, looking in every room. Multiple times. Muttering which I took to be poorly suppressed profanities.

Mildly amusing, you may be thinking, along with, “What the heck does this have to do with self defense, the right to keep and bear arms, or any of the other things that interest The Zelman Partisans?”

Some of you might see where this is going, but I’ll explain anyway.

Thanks to HIPAA — not to mention hospital Public Relations — no one was going to tell me exactly what the fuss was. But I overheard some gossip between staffers and law enforcement.

It appears that Patient Werrdefuqdego was a transferee from the jail. Possibly a mentally disturbed transferee. An unrestrained transferee. -ding!-

And no one from the Sheriff’s department was watching him. -ding!-

Nor was the hospital staff keeping an eye him. -ding!-

In fact, they were letting him run around without a keeper — in a yellow gown, blanket worn like a skirt, and no shoes. -ding! ding!- (Yes, he was a peculiar sight, before dropping out of sight.)

Figured out the relevance yet? For visitors unfamiliar with the Constitution, but hooked on magical thinking: The hospital with an escaped loon — possibly dangerous — from the jail, who was left to roam at will, is a “gun-free” zone.

So with a potentially dangerous nut on the loose due to lack of give-a-sh!t on the part of the staff and LE, I was deprived of my usual defensive tool. True, I could have refused to leave my sidearm behind and told the hospital to blow it their appropriate orifice, or even refuse to go there in the first place. But for personal reasons (possibly appropriate for the aforementioned other column), not going, or getting busted for trespassing, wasn’t an option. I had to go, and under trespass law, I had to disarm myself.

“No problem,” might say the Constitutionally challenged magicians, “the cops and hospital security will protect you.”

Except they didn’t. They turned the loon loose. They didn’t warn me, nor did they hang around to guard me.

Tell me again how gun-free — helpless-target-rich — zones make me safer.

Something Wicked This Way Comes

I’ve watched the antifa (anti-fascist) movement with a combination of anger and concern. During the election they formed their crowds, blocked roads, surrounded cars terrifying their occupants, rioted, burned cars and stores, attacked people physically either due to their race or because they were conservatives, Trump supporters or had shown up to a political rally to hear what was being said because they were undecided.

During the elections no one in authority, it seems to me, really came out and strongly spoke against it, except maybe Sheriff David Clark. I had hoped after the election that perhaps this would go away and we could return to more or less, being a country of rules and laws. Meaning if you vandalized, looted or attacked someone and you got caught, you are going to jail. You burn stuff down? You’re going to jail.

But no, no it hasn’t died down. In fact, with the encouragement of their college professors, George Soros and I’m sure a few others, perhaps even failed politicians it has continued unabated. Left wing colleges have prevented conservative speakers such as Milo and Ann Coulter from speaking. Several “universities/indoctrination centers” have prevented conservatives and pro-Israel speakers from coming and sharing a different point of view while allowing Hamass to speak freely and often.

Then there was the Battle of Berkeley. This is a snippet with some explanations and context. The part towards the very end is pretty interesting. When they ask the police where they were and why the didn’t intervene when the pro-Trump people were being violently attacked. “That would be a question for the chief of police”? Seriously. Well, apparently the mayor of Berkeley supports Antifa too.

The big irony in this is that “Antifa” is suppose to stand for anti-fascist. Now let me see if I understand this. You don’t like what someone is saying, so you think the correct response to this is to call it hate speech (despite not having heard it, or allowing anyone else to) is to attack the people that came to listen and call them “haters” and say you are “saving your community”. I think I fell down a rabbit hole, stepped through a looking glass, or had too much fried okra for dinner. Reminds me of reading about the Missouri Highway Patrol MIAC report controversy. Christians and conservatives were labeled a threat. Wonder why the SPLC some state hasn’t labeled Antifa a threat?

The insanity is so noticeable that a popular article going around now is from a former liberal saying why she is no longer one. And this woman was WAY far left. It’s actually quite a good article.

The ever brilliant Daniel Greenfield says the civil war is here and The left doesn’t want to secede. It wants to rule.

But as ugly as this is, and it is ugly. I think it’s fixin’ to get worse.

Antifa is angry that they lost the fight. Not the battle. They have looked at what shortcomings they had and have decided what they need is, mixed martial arts training and guns. The following videos were posted on Facebook and youtube. They are actually talking about killing people, apparently this doesn’t violate Facebook’s community standards. Huh. Is it possible that because the “nazis” they are talking about killing are conservatives because they disagree with their point of view, and because they might say something they don’t like? Why, I believe it is.

Ok, this one is funny, I think, but maybe it was suppose to be serious.

https://www.facebook.com/comradespaceunicorn/videos/1526757734024881/

But this one? This one is serious. Now there are a few things that are ironic to me. One is the “bluegrass” music in the background. Most hillbillies I know, already know how to shoot just fine and they don’t put cartridges in the “hole”, they know what iron sights are and are quite adept at using them. While they may not have a huge love of government, I’m pretty sure they would not embrace the “big government” of communism, and that’s what antifa wants. Along with their way, about everything. And in the places where there are no grown-ups in charge, things are going to get much worse. Because the children have found that throwing a hissy fit gets them everything they want along with the participation trophy.

The thing is, some of the comments under the video are making fun of these fools, and frankly, it’s easy to do. But understand, I truly believe when they talk about wanting to kill someone, they do. While we want to carry to protect ourselves and our families, these people are talking happily about shooting random strangers because they hold a differing political viewpoint. Something to think about the next time they swarm a highway and shut down traffic. All those people trapped in their cars? These people are talking about “declaring war” and a “revolution”. And in some parts of the country? The police will stand by a let it happen.

I wonder if Shannon Watts or Mikey Bloomberg have told them how very dangerous it is for them to have a gun? These are people on the left, 3 months ago they were anti-gun. They have not changed their belief system so much as are trying to add elements for control. So much for tolerance, eh? A friend of mine of Facebook asked if they knew they were 47 times more likely to get shot with their own gun. I love snark, speak it fluently. All manner of frightening things await them according to Shannon.

Everytown fibs in every town

It seems I’m not the only one to think along these line. Some of the comments under some of the articles I read were more along these lines.

Don’t sell them short. I remember the Viet Cong. They started off this way, too.

I’m old enough to remember how this goes. They won’t stand up and fight, they will slither in the night, planting bombs and shooting the unsuspecting.

I’m of the opinion they’re correct, something wicked this way comes.

A Clockwork Future

Recently I saw a column posted a couple of places, one of them was Facebook. The person that posted it happened to be the President of TZP. He commented that the novel A Clockwork Orange was prophetic. Honestly, I had never read the book, not in school and not on my own. So I read the column and then hit the (occasionally) reliable Wikipedia.

As it turns out a Clockwork Orange is a pretty accurate description. The novel is about a gang of boys who love violence and hurting people. They have their own language, called Nadsat a mix of Anglo-Russian. The characters all sounded like we would be much better off if they spent a loooong time in Sheriff Joe Arpio’s custody.

While searching to find out what A Clockwork Orange was about, I ran across a movie review from Roger Ebert. I kind of doubt Ebert is much of a conservative, but I could be wrong. Anyway, the thing that interested me about his review was how he accepted the anti-hero of the movie, Alex. Here’s a couple of excerpts from the review.

I don’t know quite how to explain my disgust at Alex (whom Kubrick likes very much, as his visual style reveals and as we shall see in a moment). Alex is the sort of fearsomely strange person we’ve all run across a few times in our lives — usually when he and we were children, and he was less inclined to conceal his hobbies. He must have been the kind of kid who tore off the wings of flies and ate ants just because that was so disgusting. He was the kid who always seemed to know more about sex than anyone else, too — and especially about how dirty it was.

…..

Now Alex isn’t the kind of sat-upon, working-class anti-hero we got in the angry British movies of the early 1960s. No effort is made to explain his inner workings or take apart his society. Indeed, there’s not much to take apart; both Alex and his society are smart-nose pop-art abstractions. Kubrick hasn’t created a future world in his imagination — he’s created a trendy decor. If we fall for the Kubrick line and say Alex is violent because “society offers him no alternative,” weep, sob, we’re just making excuses.

Interesting. Because how many movies and video games now have a “anti-hero” as the “hero”? To be honest, I don’t really go to movies. There’s not much I want to see, and I loathe to give some left-wing loon money they are going to use to advance a bully pulpit to work against me and the things I believe in. And, lack of time plays a very small part. But here is a review from 1972, and in it the reviewer is condemning the effort to portray a very bad person in a good light, and to make excuses for his behavior. How often do we see that now? Rachel Madcow? Chrissy “Tingly-leg” Matthews and on ad nauseam? What was decried by a liberal in 1972 has become the norm now.

Lt. Col. Dave Grossman has talked about the effect of the games on kids. He has a book out about it, but you can also read about it on his web site. He’s always worth reading or hearing.

So on to the story linked to this. A group of 40-60 teens swarmed a train in Oakland. They took over a car, robbed the passengers and beat a couple of them.

Trost said police arrived at the station in less than 5 minutes, but that the robberies took place in just seconds.

The gang then retreated in the the East Oakland neighborhood before the police arrived. Those security cameras that track us all and are suppose to keep us safer? Yep, they recorded the whole thing. Didn’t stop it of course, but they recorded it. Did BART then release the video so they could catch those responsible? No. In fact, they didn’t even warn passengers or tell them what had happened. Nor did they release the information via Twitter, Facebook or their phone app or…any of the media platforms they have. They did say it was recorded on the police blotter. Oh well, I’m sure everyone checks that before the head to the station. In the past I guess they have released video with the perpetrators faces obscured, since they are juveniles. How that is suppose to help catch anyone I’m rather unsure. But they didn’t even do that. I’m kind of curious why they haven’t. But one thing we can be sure of, since California is determined to be a gun free “sanctuary” state, all the residents of California can feel safe and secure. Yep, safe and secure.

Do I know these people are who committed the crime? Of course not! But here’s what I DO know, they are out there, somewhere. And always remember, when seconds count, no matter how good they are, the police are just minutes away.

Gal’s Defensive Shield

You know, in some ways, I’m a pretty blessed girl. Parts of my life are pretty cool. I get to meet some amazing people, I really do. And some of them I get to interview, and some of them I just am fortunate enough to be able to sit in on a lecture. This column is about one of those times. I got to sit in on a lecture with a fascinating gentleman. You’re looking for more information than “fascinating”? Ok, how about details, he’s Israeli, he’s been in a few battles. More? He can speak Hebrew, read and write it. More? Ok, I admit that last bit was humor. He was part of the Shaldag שלדג or Kingfisher unit. In fact, at one time he commanded it. Shaldag is like Sayeret Matkal, think Yonatan Netanyahu. It’s a special forces unit of the IAF. A Kingfisher is a bird that flies up high, swoops down suddenly and snatches it’s prey and ascends back into the skies before you know what happened. Now you understand Shaldag. More? He’s a retired Brigadier General. Yeah, I get to meet very way cool people. He’s also a happily married father of three girls, two of whom are officers in the IDF now. More? His name is Gal Hirsch. He also has a B.A in Mid-Eastern Studies from Bar-Ilan University. I’m working on my B.A. in Middle Eastern Studies as well, sadly not in Israel. Gal also is the founder and chairman of Defensive Shield Holdings, which consults on security and defense, and is chairman of the Israeli Leadership Institute. Quite the pedigree isn’t it? And he had quite the lecture, and message for us.

Gal’s family were some of the first to settle in Arad when it was a new town in the Negev. It’s near my beloved Beer Sheva. On his 13th birthday with the other boys he climbed Masada before dawn for his Bar Mitzvah, they put on Tefillin for the first time, prayed and vowed שנית מצדה לא תיפול

Shaneet Masada lo tipol, Masada shall not fall again. This is the same vowed the armored division used to make when they were sworn in on Masada, after climbing up it. My thought? Yes, I’d like to have the chance to do that, climb it, but the view from the cable car was amazing. I’m just saying. After that portion, the boys all hike down and go their homes and there is a lovely large meal, family and presents. It’s a big family event. Normally. Gal’s wasn’t, when he got back everything was chaos. His uncle, Amnon Hager had been killed. Fifty-four paratroopers and the pilot had been killed when their helicopter went down. The next day Gal changed from planning to enter a science program to picking up the baton that had fallen from his Uncle’s hand. He went to the recruiting station in Beer Sheva.

Gal has been fighting since he was 18, a lot of it around the borders of Israel, and all of it under fire. He said you can plan whatever you want, but someone else is planning for you. Serving in the IDF is not a career, it’s a mission. Eventually Gal chose to go to officer training. This requires an additional commitment to serve in the IDF. There on the walls of the school in different places was the phrase “אחריי” Achriee, or “Follow me and do likewise” which is what Gideon told his troops. This is also why you see a fairly high casualty rate among Israeli officers, they LEAD into battle. In addition to seeing the sign “Achriee” he also saw a beautiful woman named Donna, who later became his wife, and the mother of his 3 beautiful daughters. Donna was in the IDF as well. So, folks, if you need, I’ll see if I can get you some IDF recruitment forms. Sounds like it worked better than match.com.

In the mid 80s Hizbollah was a political party, now Hizbollah is the Iranian army after going through a few morphs. Gal fought in the first intifada which was the pieceful falestinians* having their armed riots for “peace”. They knew that Israel would not use machine guns on civilians.

While he couldn’t talk about many of the missions he went on, he did tell us about one. There was an enemy installation someplace. The enemy would come out attack Israel and retreat back to their compound. After this had gone on for a bit, Gal decided they needed to get into the compound. He said the game changes when you wake up in the morning and the floor of your living room is covered with IEDs and you have no clue how they got there in the night. I bet that’s right, actually, I know that’s right, more on that later. But there were some pretty good mottoes contained in the story. This mission had many things go wrong, from a late start because they were waiting for approval to technical problems. At one point an ambush was waiting, a team member was injured and they had to figure out an alternative way to cross a road swarming with the enemy and invent a way to cover their tracks. Then they got to climb the cliff. Through all this Gal has to continually reassess the situation. Abort or continue? Finally he is getting messages from headquarters, it was a brilliant plan, but don’t you think you should abort now? It’s not the same situation. It’s morning now. Gal persisted and was emphatic, he would continue. Then headquarters made it an order, abort. And just then, as luck would have it, there was another technical problem and none of their headsets worked! None of them heard the order to abort the mission. WOW, who would have imagined such a thing? Gal did have to come up with some alternative ways to get the team extracted, but he had already figured that out. So once the mission was completed he was able to get the communication equipment to work and called in orders for what he needed to get the team extracted safely. The mission was a success. When they got back to base the General Chief of Staff wished to have a word with Gal. Apparently the General had several, at a great volume. Gal thought his time in the IDF was about to end, so he had some words in response, also at a increased volume. And about then the people who had been monitoring the compound began to see some of the teams handiwork playing out. They came and got the General who left to watch the fireworks, grab a cup of Cofix and some popcorn. Ok, I made up the last two. But Cofix coffee is always a good idea in my book. The debriefing was two weeks later and he was told many times, you were wrong, but this turned out well.

Many times in this story Gal talked about “values determine results”, meaning if it is your values to persevere and work hard, your results will be good, it’s about your work ethic. And “the mission must be accomplished”. But what happens when values collide? “The mission must be accomplished” collides with “discipline”. The military discipline that an army must have to function as a unit runs headlong into the mission must be accomplished and values determine results? That’s a tough one isn’t it? The unit ended up getting a citation for their work, and they didn’t can Gal.

Instead, they sent him to Judea and Samaria to prepare for war in the aftermath of the Oslo accords. Gal talked about how many times and how many different ways Israel has tried to make peace. And how many times the Arabs have promised to give up terrorism and attacking civilians in return for _______. And some how, no matter how much or how often they give, peace never comes. Attacks on civilians and the military continues.

In 1998 it turns out Gal was quite good at trying to get things in order in Judea and Samaria. So good the Arabs absolutely hated him and he was a high priority target for them. The finally got him in an ambush as he drove under a bridge. They rolled a boulder on his car. He sustained multi-system trauma. Broken teeth, arm almost ripped off, face partly crushed, lungs filling with blood, teeth knocked out, pelvic damage and part of his nerves were torn away from his spine, he was pretty close to if not, paralyzed. The arabs were exceedingly proud of themselves for having gotten Gal. It was on the arabic news stations and in the papers. But Gal lived. The doctors asked him what his goals were for his therapy and rehab. He told them he wanted to be able to “shoot, hug, and write” meaning write orders. He wanted to go back into command. He wanted to be in charge of the Binyamin brigade which is in the area of Judea and Samaria. He wanted the arabs to know, they failed. He was sent to Paris for a while for some procedures. After he had been back from Paris for a while, he begin to have movement in a finger. The index finger of his right hand. He called his commander and said “I’m healthy now. I want to be the brigade commander” This, I’m sure, was met with a rather stunned reaction. He was still in the hospital in rehab. But, you see, it was his trigger finger that had moved. To Gal? He was ready for duty. So at 74% disabled he became the brigade commander of the Binyamin brigade. He is still 59% disabled today. He said “When you have a mission, you can work through the pain”. Another good creed to remember.

So now you have some background on Gal. Now I’ll tell you some of the things I learned that I think are worth sharing.

Gal is the man behind Operation Defensive Shield, March 29 – April 21, 2002. It was in response to the many, many terrorist attacks coming from the arabs in Judea and Samaria. In particular the Pesach massacre on March 27th in which 30 people were killed. A pieceful falestinian detonated himself in a hotel in Netanya during a 250 person Seder. Twenty-two were killed outright, eight died later and one hundred and fifty were injured. The arabic world was a tizzy in joy. But for Ariel Sharon it was the last straw. This was a very large scale operation. Despite the fact the Air force could have settled hash in a few minutes, the IDF chose to send in infantry to spare civilians who were told to flee.

Now, there are some things Israel does very poorly. One is “apartheid”. They are pathetic at apartheid. They have muslims in the Knesset, they have muslims in the military, in positions of command no less, they have muslims in the police force, they have muslims working in the emergency medical services. Israeli muslims can vote, shop, work, whatever. They do not have a firm grasp on how to do apartheid. Another word they can not seem to grasp the meaning of is “siege”. They really do quite poorly with siege. They need to refer back to Masada and the Roman 10th legion to understand how to do “siege”. Because when the tanks surrounded Mukata’a, Arafat’s palace and command post in Ramallah to keep him from leading an insurgency they supplied everything he needed, including electricity. I’m sure if you’ve seen the pictures of Arafat and his people huddled around a candle, that will be a shock, but Israel actually supplied them with necessities. They don’t get “siege”.

So let’s talk a bit about the arabs. In Bethlehem, somewhere between 100-180 pieceful* falestinians holed up in the Church of the Nativity. Much like how they now use the Al-Aqsa mollusk (yeah, I know) to hide weapons and attack the police out of their holy site. You know, I’ve yet to see any of the other worlds religions use their holy sites as a military compound and then howl to cnn when the military attacks it, and the people in it. But the arabs do it on a regular basis. Not only their own holy sites, but those of other religions. They also took more than 40 priests, nuns, and church personnel as well as around 200 other Palestinians hostage.

There were also raids in other falestinian villages as the IDF gained control of Judea and Samaria. This resulted in a large drop in terrorist activities.

According to:

Israeli Intelligence & Terrorism Information Center, were an initial drop of 46 percent in the number of suicide bombings – from 22 in February and March to 12 in April and May – and a 70 percent drop in executed attacks between the first half of 2002 and the second half (43 January–June, 13 July–December).

While 2003 had a total of 25 executed suicide bombings in comparison to 56 in 2002, the main difference was the number of attacks which did not come to realization (184) either due to Israeli interception or problems in the execution. 2003 also saw a 35 percent drop in the number of fatalities from 220 deaths in 2002 to 142 deaths resulting from suicide bombings.

Predictably, the UN howled. And the FA (Falestinian Authority) had cnn on speed dial. They would send kids out in front of tanks and cnn, being sloppy journalists, and I’m using that term very loosely here, would snap photos of the “compelling” conflict. Did they do any investigation? Not so much.

Remember me saying we would come back to IEDs in the living room? Well, that’s how terrorism works. You’re going about your normal little life when a bomb goes off, or someone runs you down with a car and jumps out with a knife. How long before people are afraid to go out? So, wake up and find IEDs in the living room? Changes your notions about your plans. The next point, is while the UN howled about the poor falestinian civilians, the poor civilians don’t concern the pieceful falestinian terrorists. They use them as shields, or tell them they can’t leave a building knowing Israel will not attack it if there are civilians there. This point seems to escape the UN, well, and john kerry. The IDF targets terrorists. The terrorists target civilians. Big difference wouldn’t you say?

Which brings me to another point Gal made. Not only does Israel not do “apartheid” or “siege” well, they really don’t do well at public relations. The first two were my opinions, but Gal admitted, Israel is not good at PR. The FA on the other hand, has a willing lapdog media. And somehow, somewhere roles have switched. In the beginning everyone realized that tiny Israel was fighting to regain her home. She was attacked by the arab nations from the beginning. Now, it’s still tiny Israel fighting many arab nations to survive, but because they don’t lay down and die as many expect, they are now portrayed as a thuggish Goliath. Gal said that was something that they could use our help with. When we see misstatements in the media, address them. Send a letter to the editor, address it on Facebook, Twitter, whatever, but do not let it go unchallenged. Judea and Samaria are not occupied “territories” they are the land of Judea and Samaria in the land of Israel, and there are Jews living in Jewish villages there, just like there are Jews living in villages all over Israel. And when it comes to Gaza, it is not “occupied” by Israel, there are no Jews in Gaza. In fact, Gal calls it “Hamas-a-stan”. It’s not controlled by anything other than Hamas, or as I call it, Hamass. This little tidbit seems to escape many mainstream journalists.

At the same time as Operation Defensive Shield, Gal began to push for the wall, or defensive barrier. This of course has been met with howls by the “human rights” groups and the UN. Isn’t it interesting that many Israelis died from terrorist attacks coming from people within Judea and Samaria and the UN and human rights people emitted their collective yawn. They didn’t get upset about suicide bombings and knife, rock, boulder, Molotov cocktail against Israelis, nearly one thousand of them. A fence has been built around Gaza, and not a single suicide bomber has made it from Gaza into Israel. The rockets are another story. But the stats on the wall of Judea and Samaria are impressive.

Here’s why there is an actual wall in places where falestinian snipers used to attack.

I can see why that would be frustrating to them.

The results of “The Wall” which actually, in places is a fence.

During the 34 months from the beginning of the violence in September 2000 until the construction of the first continuous segment of the security fence at the end of July 2003, Samaria-based terrorists carried out 73 attacks in which 293 Israelis were killed and 1950 wounded. In the 11 months between the erection of the first segment at the beginning of August 2003 and the end of June 2004, only three attacks were successful, and all three occurred in the first half of 2003.

Since construction of the fence began, the number of attacks has declined by more than 90%. The number of Israelis murdered and wounded has decreased by more than 70% and 85%, respectively, after erection of the fence.

And

The value of the fence in saving lives is evident from the data: In 2002, the year before construction started, 457 Israelis were murdered; in 2009, 8 Israelis were killed.

The wall and fence have worked very well in Israel.

You can look here for a current and comprehensive list of the victims of terror.

He also talked a little about the “Arab Spring”, six and a half years ago. He said it was such a nice sounding name, spring. But what it has been is horrible. The jihadists have always been in the middle east, but the dictators that had been in control had been able to contain them. After the arab spring, the bottle was shattered and all the evil little genies were set loose to visit havoc upon the middle east. The fundamentalist jihadis are running amuck and the middle east is not functioning the same. Sounds to me like some former politician was dangerously (to all of us) naïve and didn’t have a firm grasp on the situation, or how things work.

Some of this last bit was in response to questions asked by the audience at the end of the lecture. But there was one more interesting question that was put to Gal as he talked about the impact of the evil fundamentalist jihadis that have been set loose to run amuck in polite society. A lady (not me) ask Gal, “So what does the mean for us?” Now, remember Gal’s occupation now. Security and defense consultant. He said “You have to prepare”. I don’t think she understood what he meant. I think Gal thought she didn’t understand either. He elaborated. “You have to be ready. You have a Second Amendment in this country. That is something we don’t have. You need to arm yourselves and know how to use your gun to be able to defend yourselves and your family”. My jaw almost hit the floor. I can only sincerely hope that those in the audience believed him and took him seriously. When you consider what this man has seen, where he lives and what he has done with his life, and he tells you that you need to be prepared and to exercise your Second Amendment rights, I think it is well worth heeding.

After the lecture he was signing books, and of course I wanted one. I got my book and got in line. We chatted for a few moments before he signed my book. I gave him my card, and asked him if he knew there was a Jewish Second Amendment rights organization in America. He did not. I told him we are supportive of Israel, and that we have covered issues in Israel and the parallels to things happening in America. Mostly favorably. I think Elor Azariya might have slipped out. But he seemed impressed and how glad am I that I was wearing my Caribbean blue TZP sweater? He asked if he could keep the card, it has our web site on it, and I got my copy of the book signed, בעברית, in Hebrew. Yeah, I’m happy. I’ve only got to read a couple pages in the book, but it’s very readable and interesting. The original copy was done in Hebrew of course, and was called War Story, Love Story. We of course, will understand that. Because we don’t fight because we love to fight, we fight because of love. Love for our country and our families. It fits.

If you want a copy of the book you can find it here. Defensive Shield

Defensive Shield

*Pieceful. No, I do not mean peaceful. The falestinians love stabbing and cutting up people. Pieceful is the correct, if made-up word.

*Falestinian, Falestinian Authority. There is no “P” in arabic. Isn’t it interesting that their “ancestral homeland” is a word they can’t pronounce. Probably because it wasn’t called Palestine until Hadrian named it that after the disappeared Philistines as a poke at the Jews and to remove their connection from the land.

As Pesach is coming up, and in honor of Gal, here’s your little movie.

Terry McAuliffe’s Binders Full of Women

The state of Virginia has an interesting piece of legislation in play right now. HB 1852 allows someone with protective orders to carry a concealed handgun after they apply for a permit. Normally you cannot carry a gun until after you have received your permission slip, and that can take up to 45 days. Days you may, or may not have. The emergency permit is good for 45 days, and you can only utilize the “by-pass” if you have applied for a permit.

The bill passed the Senate by a 27-13 vote. It had already been approval by the House of Delegates.

“Governor” McAuliffe had a chance to help domestic abuse victims with similar legislation last year, but he chose to side with the abusers and vetoed it. His aide says he plans to again prevent victims from being able to obtain life saving tools in an emergency situation this year. Of course McAuliffe is not the only one siding with abusers. A confused Demoncrat named Favola also took a very firm stand against women:

“We already have a victim who’s vulnerable and very concerned and anxious, and we’re going to allow this person to bypass whatever requirements we might have for concealed handgun permits – one of which is training – to go ahead and get the gun,” she said.

“We should base public policy on evidence-based research. Folks who have studied this issue, folks who have advocated for the rights of women, folks who have spent many years evaluating domestic violence situations tell us that it is not wise to interject more firearms into a situation that is already volatile,” Favola added. “In fact, when a firearm exists in a situation of domestic violence, it’s actually the woman who is five times more likely to die.”

I would say probably not if the gun is in HER hand. So this Favola thing thinks it’s far better to allow the victims to remain vulnerable, anxious and concerned. I guess no one pointed out to her there was nothing to prevent the woman from getting her gun and taking it and getting training if she needed it, or wanted more. I rather suspect if a woman feels the need to get a gun to protect herself, she will want to be able to use it effectively. But that thought process may be too deep or McAuliffe and Favola. But they probably have taxpayer funded protection don’t they? They’ve never known that fear, so it doesn’t exist does it?

So, what does this magical piece of paper do? From the Fairfax Co. website

A protective order can:

Prohibit acts of violence, force, or threat or criminal offenses that may result in injury to person or property.

Prohibit such other contact with the Petitioner as the judge deems necessary for the health and safety of the Petitioner.

Prohibit such other contact with the Petitioner’s family or household members as the judge deems necessary for their health and safety.

Order any other conditions the judge may deem necessary to prevent acts of violence, force, or threat, criminal offenses resulting in injury to person or property, or communication or other contact of any kind by the respondent.

And what does one have to do to obtain such a magical piece of paper?

Several forms must be completed to obtain a preliminary protective order. These forms are available at the civil clerk’s office, and can be completed at the court or taken home to complete.

You must complete the forms on your own, and you must be present to file them.

When all of the appropriate forms have been completed, the clerk will present the petition to a judge. They will review the forms and make a determination whether to issue the preliminary protective order or not. If approved, a court date will be set within 15 days and notice of the hearing will be served on the respondent.

Fifteen days, wow. But you can get an emergency order. They also helpfully tell you what to do in the event that the order is violated:

You should immediately call 911 and tell them you have a protective order and the respondent is violating it. You may also file violation charges with the magistrate.

I guess they mean if you live, then I guess you wait for the police to show up with their guns to save you.

This restraining order thing is interesting.

The Independent Women’s Forum points out how restraining orders can become a tool in a woman’s bag of dirty tricks. By that I mean that some women get a restraining order to gain the upper hand in a contentious divorce. The man gets booted out of the house, possibly loses unfettered access to his children, and it may give her a leg up in court for division of property. It can also cost an innocent man his Second Amendment rights. TV host and liberal wing-nut David Letterman once had a restraining order issued against him. The judge didn’t really think wing-nut had done anything, but the woman had filled out the paperwork correctly.

Security specialist Gavin de Becker says in his book The Gift of Fear restraining orders are “homework assignments police give to women to prove they’re really committed to getting away from their pursuers”, they “clearly serve police and prosecutors”, but “they do not always serve victims”.

How effective are restraining orders? From Psychology Today I learned they work about half the time. They work for people that tend to follow the rules. If the guy is saying “If I can’t have you no one will” he quite possibly will not care one whit about that piece of paper. The victim may or may not be consistent in reporting violations, the police may or may not be consistent in their approach to reported violations. If the victims has been inconsistent in reporting, they will probably be more inconsistent in their response.

The rest I’m going to pretty much quote:

Problem Four: Sometimes the presence of a Temporary Restraining Order makes what was a dormant situation instantly worse. Gavin de Becker says “Sometimes when we engage we enrage.” This means that if the subject has not bothered the victim prior to this point, getting him served in court with a civil stay-away order may suddenly give him a reason to become a never-ending irritant to the victim. “You’re giving me a restraining order? I’ll give you a reason to give me a restraining order!” and then the games begin.

Problem Five: Are the police, the domestic violence advocates, and the victim using a Temporary Restraining Order as the primary placating tool/security blanket, when a better plan exists? Sometimes it makes good safety sense for the victim to move away. When I was a dv investigator, we often told victims to get a TRO, as part of our usual attempts at due diligence and giving them all of their options. In retrospect, it often made the situation worse and created a false sense of security that once the order was served, the police were now somehow waiting right around the corner to help.

Some domestic violence victims participate in their own murders by not reading the warning signs, not trusting their intuition, and over-relying on the ever-flawed criminal justice system for help. The life they have to protect is their own.

Move away? Move away? Someone who is already a victim has to move away from job, family, friends and whatever support system they have? So reality strikes, the restraining order is every bit as strong as, well, a piece of paper.

Another state has a similar bill going through their legislature. Indiana has House Bill 1071 which would allow those who have been granted a protective order to use that order to obtain a temporary permit to carry a gun. Those wishing to use the order as a carrying permit must be 21 years old and must follow all regulations to receive an actual concealed carry permit.

A firearms instructor and attorney, Guy Relford testified that some of the women he has trained have told him that their attackers went away when they saw the gun, they didn’t have to shoot, they went away. Apparently allowing women the means to defend themselves did not cause blood to run in the streets. Then Demoncrat Summers rode in on her unicorn and stated:

“I think that your energies should be in strengthening up that protective order, doing some other things in a domestic violence situation instead of giving a scared to death woman a gun,” Summers said.

Summers did not dismount her unicorn long enough to specify just HOW she could strengthen a protective order enough that a determined abuser wouldn’t blow that off as well. But, well, hey, she’s a Demoncrat.

So Governor McAuliffe has little regard for the lives of at risk women it seems to me. It appears he is much more concerned about protecting abusers as he is also much more concerned about New York than he is Virginia. So McAuliffe with the help of other Demoncrats is starting a “Binder full of women”, much like Governor Chris Christie has a binder of women. Women like Carol Browne who died due to New Jersey gun laws. A binder of victims who were denied the emergency equipment that could have saved their lives. Or like Castle Rock vs. Gonzalesthe children who are victims when the magical restraining order fails.

Perhaps McAuliffe, various Demoncrats and Governor Christie think domestic violence is funny, that’s it’s all like “Goodbye Earl”. But then, they have taxpayer funded security don’t they? Right, I forgot, the fear and danger isn’t real.

Amalek, Haman and a Bucket of Chum

I know, I know Purim has passed and it’s not yet Pesach, but if you’ll indulge me just a little I’ll explain. First we need a bit of background.

When the Hebrews left Egypt, HaShem, the G-d of Israel had just delivered the enslaving nation of Egypt ten, count ‘em, ten devastating plagues, split the sea and drowned the Egyptians as they pursued the now freed Hebrews. NO sane nation wanted to mess with them. The qualifier, did you catch it? Sane. From Aish.com, and I’m going to be quoting quite a bit from this one article.

Remember what Amalek did to you as you were leaving Egypt. He happened upon you, and struck the weakest people trailing behind, when you were exhausted. And he did not fear G-d. (Deut. 25:17-18)

G-d said to Moses: Write this remembrance in the book… that I will surely erase the memory of Amalek from under the heavens. (Exodus 17:14)

To understand, we have to go back to the time of Jacob our forefather. Jacob had a twin brother Esav, who was a lifelong rival ― so much so that Esav sought to kill Jacob (see Genesis 27:41).

The Midrash says that when Esav was getting old, he called in his grandson Amalek and said: “I tried to kill Jacob but was unable. Now I am entrusting you and your descendents with the important mission of annihilating Jacob’s descendents ― the Jewish people. Carry out this deed for me. Be relentless and do not show mercy.”

True to his mission, Amalek has historically tried to destroy the Jews. For example, in Exodus 17:8, Amalek attacked the Jews out of pure hatred ― Amalek lived in a distant land and was under no imminent threat.

So what does Amalek have to do with Purim? The Scroll of Esther (3:1) identifies Haman as the descendent of Agag, King of Amalek. Haman’s desire to wipe out the Jewish people was an expression of his long-standing national tradition.

I’m sure we’ve all heard of the vehicular and stabbing attacks. It’s been all over the new, right?

A young Falestinian woman carried out a vehicular attack at the Gush Etzion Junction. She veered out of her lane, drove at great speed towards the bus stop at the junction and tried to run over soldiers standing there. The soldiers guarding the location shot at the car and wounded her. A solider received minor injuries. Although with that lot, it could mean she ran over his leg a couple times. Their idea of minor injuries and all.

Gush Etzion Car used in ramming attack

The stabbing attack? A Falestinian named Bucket O’ Chum 1, from Beit Fajjar, and a friend, carried out a stabbing attack at the Ariel Junction; both were killed.

This is life in Israel, the media finds it of no interest that cars are used as weapons of mass destruction against Jews on a regular basis. A knife attack against a group of Jews? Cnn (fake news): Ho hum. Did the Kardashians get new sunglasses? Isn’t it odd how these stories never seem to make the mainstream media?

But there was another attack too wasn’t there? This one in London. A Bucket of Chum that had converted to the religion of pieces got a car and drove over Westminster bridge and mowed people down, just like the pieceful Falestinian girl that barry ridiculed Americans for wanting to vet the women and children. Damn skippy. Bucket O’ Chum 2 has killed I think it’s 4 people, injured more than 40 people. Just like the pieceful Muslim in Ohio. And just like that one he jumped out of his car with two knives and begin to stab.

Photo of Some Asshole

Bucket O’ Chum’s stabbing victim was a much admired Police officer, husband and father, Keith Palmer. In America this might raise many eyebrows as we would be wondering why didn’t Officer Palmer shoot Bucket O’ Chum. But this is gun free utopia England. Officer Palmer was defenseless, you read that right. He was unarmed. He had to wait for other officers who were armed to shoot his attacker, and despite the fact that they were very close, it was still too late. Seconds really do count, and Officer Palmer didn’t have them. Want to know who shot Chum #2? A close protection officer for Defense Secretary Michael Fallon. Because you see, politicians are important, other people? Meh. Would you like to know what Defense Secretary Mr. Michael Fallon said about the incident?

“’They did not get into Parliament. They only got as far as the gate. They did not breach the security of the House of Commons and he gave his life to protect the security of our democracy.”

BULL FEATHERS!!! He died for no d*mn good reason! He died for political correctness, he died because the foolish people of Britain confuse the teeth. They can’t discern the protective teeth of an armed citizen or Police Officer from the teeth of the wolves that have come to tear them to shreds. For that matter, if there had been ONE, just ONE armed citizen on that bridge, is it possible Bucket O’ Chum wouldn’t have ever made it to Parliament? We will never know, but it sure might have changed the odds. For that matter, did they do a “universal background check” before the car was rented?

Bucket O’ Chum’s rented car

Oh but there is more ticked off to go:

Former Met firearms officer Roger Gay said Britain may need to move away from the idea of ‘traditional’ unarmed policeman in important locations.

He told Sky News today: ‘In my opinion, I would have all of them in that location, I think, should be armed. What you have there, and I hate to use the term, is perhaps a sacrificial pawn.

No, you idiot. He was a Police Officer, husband and father made defenseless by your idiotic policies. But at least this guy thinks they should consider arming all of the officers, at Parliament. Because, hey, they’re important.

In raids across Britain today they have picked up 8 people for “suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts,”.

And it will not end. As “Mad Mommies” virulently spill their insane bile against schools considering changing some of their policies to make their students at least a tiny bit harder to kill, remember it will not end. There will be other targets, in any country and because kids are taught in school to fear an inanimate object as being evil and to embrace a culture that part of it’s people say they want to kill Jews and Christians in many places, it will continue unopposed.

While Jacob believes that G-d runs the world and there is an absolute standard of morality, Esav believes that life is random ― and morality is therefore subjective. Esav’s hatred for the message of morality actually forms the basis of all anti-Semitism. Just as the Jews stand for the principle of caring for the vulnerable and weak, Amalek is the opposite ― “attacking the weakest people trailing behind” (Deut. 25:18).

……

So why do we have to stomp out Haman? Because we must recognize our enemies and fight them. Not because we enjoy war, but because part of being a “good person” is to actively seek the destruction of evil.

There are evil people actively working to eliminate G-d consciousness from the world. Know your enemy and fight against it. “Erase the memory of Amalek from under the heavens” (Exodus 17:14).

It really, really is about good vs. evil. And we are to fight evil, we are to oppose it. And political correctness is evil. It keeps people from discussing issues that can endanger their lives, and from considering solutions that could save it. Please, Abba, no more defenseless victims, please let people begin to discern good from evil and act accordingly.
