The Power of One, Yom Yerushaylim and Memorial Day

One person, what can just one person do?

If you’re border patrol agent Jacob Albarado, you can borrow a shotgun from the barber who is giving you a haircut and go save your wife and daughter who are being held hostage at Uvalde’s Robb elementary school. And you’ll be saving a whole lot of other people in the process as well.

If you’re Sheriff Grady Judd of Polk County, you spend time keeping your county safe and crime free and then training others to protect school children. It’s interesting that after the FL legislators passed a bill putting additional safety measures in place that Broward County, home of Marjorie Stoneman Douglas, was the last school to put them in place. But Sheriff Judd speaks straightforward, and hopefully his flame will light many candles.

If you’re one woman with a pistol at a party in Charleston W.Va. you can save many lives.

And these are all amazing things, G-d can use any person anywhere to accomplish a miracle. But sometimes the miracles are so earth shattering, so ground breaking that normal sane humans can’t help but see the hand of G-d.

The 28th of Iyar (this year 29th May) we celebrate Yom Yerushaylim, Jerusalem day celebrating the reunification of Jerusalem in 1967. This was a miracle straight from the hand of G-d. While it cost much in the way of lives, the cost was far less than anticipated.

This is a really good backstory video with lots of excellent footage and maps showing the areas involved. It’s under 10 minutes. It opens with the famous words from Mordechai (Motta) Gur “”הר הבית בידינו The Temple mount is in our hands! Every time I hear that tears well up and sometimes they run down. Only G-d. If you’re one person and you’re Motta Gur? Well then. And it has horses in it.

One person? If you’re only one person and you’re Rabbi Shlomo Goren, you can capture Hevron with your driver. But he must have had angels riding with him after having blown his shofar on the Temple Mount, eh? If you’re only one person and you’re Rabbi Goren, amazing!

So after all that time, all that fighting all the loss of life, to regain the site of the Holy Temples, the place where G-d chose for his temples and you’re Moshe Dayan? Well, then you give it away.

Dayan’s first act on the Temple Mount, only a few hours after IDF Chief Rabbi Shlomo Goren blew the shofar and gave the Shehecheyanu blessing beside the Western Wall, was to immediately remove the Israeli flag that the paratroopers had raised on the mount.

Dayan’s second act was to clear out the paratroop company that was supposed to remain permanently stationed in the northern part of the mount. Dayan rejected the insistent pleas of the head of Central Command, Uzi Narkiss, who tried to prevent him from taking this measure. Narkiss reminded Dayan that Jordan, too, had stationed a military contingent on the mount to maintain order, and that long ago the Romans had done the same, deploying a garrison force in the Antonia Fortress that Herod had built near the mount. But Dayan was not persuaded. He told Narkiss that it seemed to him the place would have to be left in the hands of the Muslim guards.

Better to be Uzi Narkiss. Uzi may not have gotten it done, but he tried. But even for him, it wasn’t about G-d or religion, more culture or tradition I guess.

But Dayan wasn’t done.

Dayan, just a few hours after his first public announcement to the Israeli people about the holy places and particularly the Temple Mount, succinctly stated: “We have returned to the holiest of our places, never to be parted from them again….We did not come to conquer the sacred sites of others or to restrict their religious rights, but rather to ensure the integrity of the city and to live in it with others in fraternity.”

Typical leftist thinking. If we play nice, others will play nice with us.

Dayan’s most significant act on the Temple Mount, which sparked controversy over the years and was widely criticized, was to forbid Jewish prayer and worship there, unlike the arrangements that emerged at the Machpelah Cave in Hebron where there is also a functioning mosque.7 Dayan decided to leave the mount and its management in the hands of the Muslim Wakf, while at the same time insisting that Jews would be able to visit it (but not pray at it!) without restriction. Dayan thought, and years later even committed the thought to writing, that since for Muslims the mount is a “Muslim prayer mosque” while for Jews it is no more than “a historical site of commemoration of the past…one should not hinder the Arabs from behaving there as they now do.”

Because for him it was no more than a historical site, Dayan was a Kibbutznik, born and raised on a communist Kibbutz. His parents were not religious, he wasn’t and his children weren’t. For him that’s all it was. And when people lack G-d, and a relationship with the creator it keeps them from seeing the true beauty and value in the things G-d inspired or created himself. And that’s how Dayan came off the tracks.

It’s why we have people now that don’t see the beauty in the differences in men and women, how the two can compliment each other. It’s why people can’t comprehend that while there are viruses, he also put things out there that can cure them other than worshipping at the alter of the Golden Fauxi with his golden needle. At least I believe that.

In freedom people are allowed to have different opinions and freely debate idea.

But like Moshe Dayan, children today aren’t taught to recognize things of value, like freedom. Freedom of speech, freedom of religion and freedom to defend yourself and your family, freedom from medical tyranny. Those freedoms come from G-d. And if you don’t believe or accept there is a creator of the universe? Well, then.

G-d miraculously reunited Jerusalem, in his way, at his time. Which at the time looked like the tiny baby state of Israel was bound for destruction.

I pray he will unite our country, but not at the expense of freedom. Not because the bat rabid left have won the battle. I pray that he send Moshiach now, yesterday.

You see, I believe Moshe Dayan’s decision has consequences that affect our world even today. I can not help but wonder, had he not committed his act of idiocy, in my humble opinion, how different would our world be today?

Yeshayahu – Isaiah – Chapter 56

….

5 “I will give them in My house and in My walls a place and a name, better than sons and daughters; an everlasting name I will give him, which will not be discontinued.

6 And the foreigners who join with the Lord to serve Him and to love the name of the Lord, to be His servants, everyone who observes the Sabbath from profaning it and who holds fast to My covenant.

7 I will bring them to My holy mount, and I will cause them to rejoice in My house of prayer, their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be acceptable upon My altar, for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.

8 So says the Lord God, Who gathers in the dispersed of Israel, I will yet gather others to him, together with his gathered ones.

We are all just one person, but sometimes one person is enough. Sometimes many of the “just one persons” unite together, and I can not help but believe when we unite together to be a force of good, G-d will bless our efforts. But whether working alone or with others, be a force for good. May many people the world over wake up to the knowledge of G-d.

Israel and America, countless battles and whether it was the Battle of Bunker Hill or the Battle of Ammunition Hill, we can not let the sacrifices have been for nothing. Teach your children what they won’t learn in school, teach them to appreciate living in a moral G-dly country. And may both return to that soon.

This is well worth a few minutes of your time. A tip of my Stetson to fellow writer, Y.B.

Convoy-Edited

So I have no idea what happened to the first part of this column. YESH, here is the missing part. But honestly, after I put this up, I found some more things to add in. Still don’t know how I managed to lose the first part.

Ah, breaker one-nine, this here’s the Rubber Duck. You gotta copy on me, Pig Pen, c’mon? Ah, yeah, 10-4, Pig Pen, fer shure, fer shure. By golly, it’s clean clear to Flag Town, c’mon. Yeah, that’s a big 10-4 there, Pig Pen, yeah, we definitely got the front door, good buddy. Mercy sakes alive, looks like we got us a convoy…

Sometimes it can seem like everything in the deck is stacked against us. U.S. We’ve got a piece of crap dementia ridden head of a crime family occupying our White House. Elections have consequences, stolen elections more so, eh? We have “intelligence agencies” that need to be called something else. I have lots of helpful suggestions, but that’s not what this column is about.

This is about fighting back. There is something going on all across the world right now. People are waking up to the evil that governments have decided to impose on their serfs. It seems to me that people are picking what they feel most strongly about and standing up and fighting back. Some of them very eloquently.

So let’s take a look at some current events and draw hope, shall we?

First up, the Germans have had enough of the tyranny imposed by their government; mask mandates, lock downs, do this, don’t do that.

Thunder Ridge High School students have had enough of the ridiculous mask mandates, they walked out.

And in an astonishing coincidence /snark Legend High School students walked out the very same day over the very same thing!

With a very clear message: ‘If you’re scared, stay home’: Denver-area high schoolers walk out of class over mask mandate

Speaking of students, a whole lot of parents have flat had enough of the “woke” “progressive” agenda of turning students into future Communists. When Project Veritas exposed a antifa teacher who’s plan was to threaten and intimidate the students into being revolutionaries the rose up on their hind legs. The school districts initial response

Chris Evans, Natomas Unified School District Superintendent: “As of today, this teacher [Gabriel Gipe] was placed on paid leave because of his actions and choices in the classroom. Natomas Unified will be taking the legally required next steps to place the teacher on unpaid leave and fire the teacher. By taking a day and a half to investigate beyond the video, the district was able to learn more facts essential to the next steps.”

And then the parents showed up at the school board meeting….he’s fired. They wanted him out right now, not in a week, two weeks, whatever.

But it’s not just antifa teachers, and actually I bet there are more of those than we could imagine. It’s Critical Race Theory. And parents have had enough of it. They are showing up at school board meetings like never before. Apparently a lot of parents were like mine, who thought they could trust the educational system. Back in my day, they probably could without too many repercussions, but not so today.

Here’s a really good one.

But there are lots of them! https://duckduckgo.com/?q=parents+speaking+out+against+critical+race+theory&t=brave&iax=videos&ia=videos

And then there is the mandatory jab, vaccine mandates. Not surprisingly to me anyway, a lot of healthcare workers do not want to be injected with the mRNA experimental shot. Isn’t it weird, a year ago when there was no injection it was “Healthcare heroes”, “Frontline workers” now doing the exact same job, wearing the same PPE (personal protection equipment) for some reason hospitals are so frantic to get this substance into their former “heroes” they will fire them if they don’t submit. Guess all that “essential” stuff was B.S. right? Kind of weird isn’t it, one would think that hospital workers, especially the frontline variety would be begging for the injection. Yet, they aren’t. Wonder why that would be. And many that have taken it were threatened, or bribed with chances to enter lotteries with thousands of dollars. You know, like every other injection in history for a disease with a 99% + survival rate. Sorry, I got off topic there. Anyway, they aren’t sitting down and taking it quietly either!

Thousands protest vaccine passports outside hospitals across B.C.

Nurses protest mandatory COVID-19 vaccines for health care workers

Health care workers protest vaccine mandate at local hospitals

New Yorkers want the tyranny to end, a helpful aside to our New York brethren, stop electing frickin’ Communists, this is what they do! If it’s got a D behind it’s name don’t vote for it because if there were honesty in advertising it would be a C for communist!

New York teachers don’t want the mandated jab either

And then there is the “green pass” the modern version of “papers please” and if you don’t have it you will be denied entry to sporting events, movies, restaurants and even grocery stores to buy food!

I heard tell of a town in Russia where the mayor had passed a mandate, you had to be injected to go to many places in town. So the injected and the un-injected all banded together and nobody went anywhere! Within a week shop owners were calling the mayor and letting him have it. They were making no money, the mayor spewed out some political B.S. about how great the covid rates are and he repealed the mandate.

The French are boycotting restaurants demanding a “green pass” by having picnics in the street, lots of people eating their picnic suppers in front of empty or near empty restaurants. There’s video in the link.

There were protests in 250 French cities

A supermarket that banned un-injected people from buying food has found that isn’t working out as planned.

The Brits took over a building, BRITISH PEOPLE TAKE OVER 1ST PUBLIC OFFICE BUILDING USING COMMON LAW, AND SO IT BEGINS IN THE UK!

Then there is Daniel Schultz Precinct Committee Chairman Project you might consider.

In case you’re wondering why I called this column “Convoy”, in the penal colony of Australia, the truckers have had enough of threats of the jab and “green pass”.

Australia Truckie Protest Update – Road Closures Across the Country & Entrances to Sydney Blocked

They are bringing things to a standstill. And the mainstream media is silent.

Lots of everyday American people are finding things they can do, and I think that’s great because it lessens the feeling of helplessness.

There are election Audit groups in almost every state now, and they need people to be involved. I know they are on Telegram, but here’s their web site, https://t.me/s/americasauditforce

WOW: Thousands Of Trump Supporters Taking Over Local GOP Positions

This is from Lin Wood (attorney)

The enemy knows that Patriots in America are waking up, getting informed, and rising up.

The enemy is panicking.

The enemy is being forced to accelerate its nefarious plan to seize control of our country and our lives.

The enemy will lose. This is America. The enemy underestimated the will and spirit of American Patriots. We The People are the government.

So let’s keep engaging in guerrilla warfare against the enemy while we have the enemy on the run.

Use your money as bullets. STOP doing business with the enemy.

Use your voices and rights of free speech and freedom of assembly to organize rallies to demand forensic audits of the 2020 vote.

Use your voices and rights of free speech and freedom of assembly to organize protests where “elected” officials make public appearances or conduct public meetings. Drown them out with shouts of “traitor,” “communist,” or “fix it NOW!!!” Don’t let these traitors get in a word edgewise. Send them back to the swamps from which they emerged.

If an employer illegally fires you because you exercise your legal right to decline to wear a mask or take the jab to be part of a dangerous experimental medical treatment with an unknown and potentially lethal “vaccine,” stand on your rights. They cannot do business if enough employees refuse to be coerced and threatened. Shut them down. Then hire a honest lawyer (will take some time to locate one) and sue the employer for its wrongdoing.

Go to https://strikebackforfreedom.com/ and provide #StrikeBack the names of God-fearing Patriots and Patriot business with whom Patriots should do business. We need your information to populate the website.

Finally, your prayers are your nukes. Organize prayer meetings in your neighborhoods and communities. Prayer is the strongest of ALL weapons.

You can sign Senator Wendy Rogers’s petition to decertify the election SIGN THE PETITION TO DECERTIFY THE ELECTION

People are running for school boards and local offices, they are showing up at political meetings and forming citizen groups, and I don’t mean “Republican clubs”. Even a sizable number of what used to be Democrats want Joe “The Big Guy” Xiden impeached and the murder turtle said “no way”. No, I mean American Citizen, American Patriot clubs. Then build fires to hold elected officials feet to the fires. If they don’t tow the line, primary them. But the 2020 election needs to be audited or how can we ever have faith in another one?

So there are things ordinary citizens are doing. They are unwilling to sit by and watch our country circle the drain. These are just some ideas of things already happening. There is a spirit, there is is a movement that is beginning to sweep the world, it’s a battle of good vs evil. But there are a lot of us, and more waking up as opposed to being “woke” every day…was that an airhorn I just heard?

Ah, breaker one-nine, this here’s the Rubber Duck. You gotta copy on me, Pig Pen, c’mon? Ah, yeah, 10-4, Pig Pen, fer shure, fer shure. By golly, it’s clean clear to Flag Town, c’mon. 58 Newly-Minted Prohibited Persons

I have little doubt that readers have heard about the 58 Texas Dim-ocrats would boarded a private aircraft, and fled the state in order to break the legislative quorum to avoid passing honest election laws. If not, you should read up on it, because it just got interesting.

Texas Republicans Say Enough and Officially Vote to Arrest Fleeing Democrats
When I saw Abbott’s comments, I wasn’t sure Republicans would actually have the guts to vote to force the Democrats to return and do their jobs. Yet, that’s exactly what happened.

So… Warrant for their arrest. Interstate fugitives.

They are now prohibited persons under 18 U.S. Code § 922(g).

(g)It shall be unlawful for any person—

(2)who is a fugitive from justice;

to ship or transport in interstate or foreign commerce, or possess in or affecting commerce, any firearm or ammunition; or to receive any firearm or ammunition which has been shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce.

How many of the Dims own guns?

Add ’em to NICS. I’m sure that those pro-victim disarmament Dims will be cool with it.

I emailed Texas Governor Abbott and Speaker of the House Phelan to bring this point to their attention. If you would also like to reinforce the point, you may contact Gov. Abbott HERE and Rep. Phelan HERE.

This Is No Time To Go Slack On The 2A

I just heard from Representative Mo Brooks’ [R-AL05] office (yes, they reached out to me). They are concerned that he is getting zero calls about ATF issues, “or any other gun control issues.”

“That may be because our Congressman is so pro 2A but it is concerning to me. If the politicians only hear from one side they may get the impression that the public wants more intrusion. Not all politicians take principled stands but instead go with the flow.”

He is right to be concerned. Not only do we have the ATF Improvement and Modernization Act of 2020, which… aims to give the ATF even more power to rape the Constitution, but the Biden Harris campaign is already working with the ATF to implement their victim disarmament plans.

I know folks are wrapped up in the elections, and concerned about the fake ChinCOVID surge (language warning). But we cannot let off the pressure; if we don’t let representatives and senators know we are still watching, they will assume they can get away with infringements. Yes, even Republicans who always love ’em some restrictions for the sake of “law & order.”

Emails are good, and Gun Owners of America have a good resource for reaching reps and senators on specific issues. The Firearms Policy Coalition also has a good tool.  But emails don’t get as “in your face” as a phone where someone has to hear the concern in your voice.

If, for some strange reason, you don’t already know how to reach your rep or senators, look it up HERE.

But I’ll give you a hint: You can simply call the senate switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask for your senator by name. When you get connected the office, make a simple statement.

Add that phone number, and your representative’s, to speed dial.

I’m calling to remind Senator/Representative [name] that protecting the Second Amendment is more important than ever, and I oppose the ATF Improvement and Modernization Act, which is designed to allow the ATF to shred the Constitution. Thank you.

Just a gentle reminder that we’re still here, still watching.

Please spread the word.

Open Carry: Are you normalizing, or making yourself a target?

Rep. Dan Crenshaw, who loves him some prior restraint of rights when it comes to “law & order,” does have some good advice. Stopped clock, twice a day, and all that.

Dan Crenshaw Right About What 2A Community Needs
Rep. Crenshaw cut to the chase about how the Second Amendment movement can continue the momentum and the importance for the industry and existing gun owners to change the way they recruit and welcome new firearm owners into the community.

“We need a lot less guys dressing up in their Call of Duty outfits, marching through the streets and we need a lot more women who are talking about how they need the right to defend themselves against a larger man.”

Tom Knighton elaborated in his own words.

“They don’t see those folks as ordinary people. They seem them as a violent militia that might start shooting at any given moment. They’re terrified of what that means.”

The Gun Feed referred to that as “pro-gun LARPing.” I agree; and I’ve addressed it before. Optics — viewpoint type, not firearm — matter. The people we want to persuade need to be persuaded precisely because they don’t view these things as do we.

If you want to sway these people to the Constitutionally correct view of the Second Amendment, do it right.

Tactical gear, ARs and AKs, and scary militant slogans aren’t going to suddenly persuade the Democrat delegates, Democrat senators, and Democrat governor that, “Well, gosh. We were wrong; these are just peaceable, reasonable, nonviolent people who make an excellent point.” Militant appearance and behavior at a lobbying event reinforces their belief that mere citizens are too dangerous to be trusted with arms.

If I’d been planning this, I’d have set up the rally as a silent protest outside, with everyone dressed as neatly as possible in their everyday work attire, to drive home the real point that we are just ordinary citizens, not nutjobs.

That’s one reason to avoid the tacticool look. But consider another. Police and federal agents are also watching.

Do you remember Duncan Socrates Lemp, killed in his bed by police? They targeted him because, due to his display of weaponry and gear, they decided he was an evil boogaloo/militia type. Lemp died for his optics. He won’t be supporting 2A rights much anymore.

Then there’s the “Hey, let’s form a militia, kidnap Gov. Witless, and put her on trial” morons. Sure, the feds had them heavily infiltrated with CIs and agents, and most likely talked them into the ridiculous “conspiracy,” but why target them?

Yep, militia, running around in public with ARs, and the like. They had the right-for-the-feds-purposes look.

They won’t be very active in the 2A community for a while, what with being in jail, awaiting expensive trials.

You absolutely have the right to rig up, and demonstrate with a rifle over your shoulder. But is it worth arrest or death? Does it “normalize” firearms ownership to do something that I’m quite willing to bet isn’t particularly normal even for the tacticool demonstrators? How many of them really dress and carry like that to doctor appointments, or grocery shopping? Outside of training sessions, do they rig up for anything but protests?

There are times and places for the the tactical look, if you want to drop the occasional hint to would-be tyrants. Consider getting a group of fellow veterans together to march in a Veterans Day parade, for example. In completely appropriate setting, you’re saying, “Our regular service may be done, but we’re still willing and equipped to respond as needed.” I’m sure you can think of other appropriate settings.

Otherwise, the setting is probably inappropriate for that sort of thing. If you want to normalize gun ownership through open carry, do it normally. Dress in your normal every day attire, possibly with a little extra attention to neatness. And open carry the pistol you normally carry. Do normal things while open carrying, like checking mail, or mowing the grass (yes, I do).

That’s a lot more likely to convince neighbors you’re a normal person who just happens to own a gun and “Huh, that must be common after all, and no big deal.”

That’s a lot less likely to convince the authorities that you’re another dangerous Lemp who needs to be eliminated, or low-hanging fruit ripe for harvest in a militia terrorism sting. Think of it as “OPSEC.”

More Financial Discrimination Against Kyle Rittenhouse

The legal defense fund at GiveSendGo for Kyle Rittenhouse has hit another roadblock. The scumbags at Discover Card (Twitter feed) will begin blocking its cardholders from donating. This follows GoFundMe and other fundraising hosts booting defense funds for the young man.

Hello all,

I’m writing you today with more frustrating news. We just learned that Discover is planning to cut off the ability of its cardholders to make payments to this fundraiser; this development unfortunately follows days of relentless targeting by big tech on the order of Facebook, Twitter, Stripe, and Instagram. Other credit card companies are likekly to follow, unless a strong message is sent to all of these globalist-controlled corporations that we are not willing to sit by while they erase our Freedom of Speech through their un-American accounting practices. I encourage all of you to contact them through their website, and where able, make personal statements by taking your business elsewhere. We will likely be figuring out alternative ways to donate soon, and I will keep you posted.

On a more positive note, Kyle has a personal thank you for all of you fine people: https://twitter.com/CaliKidJMP/status/1300927120282132480

Thank you for your continued support!

If you still can, please donate:

And be sure to tell Discover what you think of their disgusting decision. It is not the job of the payment processing/banking system to decide who and what lawful activities their cardholders can support. It’s the job of courts and juries of the people to decide who is and isn’t guilty, not politically biased businesses.

Never Interrupt Your Enemy When He Is Making A Mistake

New York Attorney General Letitia James has made a grave strategic error in attempting to dissolve the National Rifle Association. Should she succeed, it will result in a economic power vacuum of epic proportions.

Something — someone — will fill it.

This could simply shift tens of millions of dollars that used to go to the NRA’s  coffers to existing groups like Gunowners of America, Firearms Policy Coalition, Second Amendment Foundation, or even the modest Zelman Partisans (hint!). For lobbying; litigation; and policy, analysis, and philosophy, I think that would be a good thing. Former NRA instructors could form a new group to take over the one thing the old organization did well: practical training.

But whether it’s distributed groups handling specialized aspects of defending rights, or a new umbrella group, the victim-disarmers will be in for a shock. What the group or groups won’t be is the cardboard cutout that is the NRA.

No longer will there be a monolithic “pro-2A” organization promoting rights violations just so they can fundraise to “fight” those violations.

The new face of the Second Amendment won’t be the people that supported the National Firearms Act of 1934. It won’t be the people who supported the Gun Control Act of 1968 It won’t be the people who traded new machineguns for a toothless Firearm Owner Protection Act. It won’t be the people who proposed unconstitutional NICS checks. It won’t be the people who actively fought constitutional carry tooth and nail until they saw the bandwagon rolling, jumped on, and declared, “Follow me!” It won’t be the people who supported ex parte “red flag” firearm confiscations.

And it most definitely will not be the people who got bump-fire stocks banned as machineguns, thus endangering all “easily converted to machineguns” semiautomatic firearms.

No more would the disarmament faction have their paper tiger secret ally.

They will face human/civil rights advocates that are the “no-compromise gun lobby”. “No compromise. No Surrender.” Advocates who are “organizing to take back our Constitution and defend the inalienable, fundamental, and individual right to keep and bear arms.” We’ll “reclaim and expand our right to keep and bear arms.”

And actually mean it, unlike the LaPierre lackeys.

At the state level, the “protect our criminals from those mean gun owners” crowd will be facing state groups like Georgia Carry and ProGun New Hampshire who will no longer be hampered by NRA interference. For years, the RKBA movement has been Harrison Bergeron, handicapped by the weights of the NRA’s fund-sucking and deal-making. If James succeeds, she’ll see what we can do when we cast off the burden of NRA “assistance.”

Frankly, I thought this was so obvious that James would settle for minor concessions and leave the NRA intact; possibly fines. Or maybe send LaPierre to prison for misappropriating funds, but leave his compromising cronies in place to carry on the “good” work. I don’t think Bloomberg and Soros are going to be pleased if the NRA is destroyed.

The Zelman Partisans Endorse Mo Brooks’ “Lawful Interstate Transportation of Firearms Act”

Today, Representative Mo Brooks [R-AL] will introduce the Lawful Interstate Transportation of Firearms Act. Like Senator Steve Daines of Montana’s Days later SB 3139, this bill is intended to fix serious weaknesses in the “safe passage” provision of the Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986; weaknesses which have allowed anti-rights states like New York and New Jersey to harass and arrest honest gun owners trying to do the right thing.

We obtained an advance copy of Lawful Interstate Transportation of Firearms Act. It closes those loopholes. Key provisions make it unlawful to arrest an honest gun owner complying with storage requirements* unless he has committed some other crime.

8 ‘‘(c)(1) A person who is transporting a firearm, am-
9 munition, magazine, or feeding device may not be arrested
10 or otherwise detained for violation of any law or any rule
11 or regulation of a State or any political subdivision thereof
12 related to the possession, transportation, or carrying of
13 firearms, ammunition, magazine, or feeding device un-
14 less—

15 ‘‘(A) there is probable cause to believe that the
16 person is doing so in a manner not provided for in
17 subsection (a); and
18 ‘‘(B) there is probable cause to believe that the
19 person has committed a crime other than the viola-
20 tion.

This bill extends those same same protections for firearms to ammunition, and magazines considered “high capacity” by some backward jurisdictions, which FOPA never did.

This bill gives up nothing, and reclaims much that was lost decades ago.

The Zelman Partisans fully support this bill, and hope you will also.

Likewise, Gun Owners of America has endorsed this bill. Yet, the Vichy NRA has not. Sources say an unnamed gun group objected to Rep. Brooks’ bill because it thought the “probable cause to believe that the person has committed a crime” clause went too far. Draw your own conclusions.

* We realize this bill requires firearms to be stored, and that we should be allowed to constitutionally carry arms ready for use. We believe national reciprocal carry is best addressed in its own specific legislation.

January 20, 2020 will be the VCDL‘s Lobby Day, and thousands opposed to the massive gun people control push by the Democrats are expected to turn out. Governor Coonman is so fearful of his constituents that he has declared a state of emergency and will make Capitol Square a “gun-free” zone. He’s doing that citing some “threats” which look suspiciously like false flags designed to give him that very excuse. But I’m cynical. Or realistic; you decide.

Capitol Square will be fenced off, with a single pedestrian entrance where everyone will have to go through a metal detector. Those who wish to enter for the purpose of exercising their First Amendment right to petition the government must surrender their Second Amendment rights.

It may be a little late to coordinate this, but I have a suggestion.

First, the rally will happen. It’s time for naysayers to be quiet; adults are talking.

VCDL has arranged for organizers for specific legislators. Attendees are already being asked to make contact with them. Good; do that. But those organizers should have sign-in sheets so they document exactly how many people are there to petition their legislator. Those sheets should be given to lobbyists who are actually entering the Capitol building to speak to legislators.

Those lobbyists are the only people who should go through the metal detector. They go in, wave their sign-in sheets, and tell legislators, “Look. I’m here representing these [insert count] people who oppose your unconstitutional proposals.”

All other attendees should refuse to enter Capitol Square, and simply surround the perimeter outside of the fence. Peacefully. Your presence will still be visible, making whatever point you wanted. And you’ll be making the additional point that you won’t be disarmed.

I would have preferred that this be a Virginian operation, with out-of-staters staying away. As is, the media will highlight non-Virginians to claim that VCDL had to import protestors because not enough real Virginians oppose these bills.

They have asked that people avoid a militant appearance, because for VCDL’s intent it’s bad optics. That’s good. I hope folks go along.

And that would make the few actual nutjobs — and the inevitable false flag types — stand out so they could be disowned and dealt with properly.

I wish Virginia the best of luck on Monday. As is, they’re going to need it.

A Semi-Auto Ban I Can Support

Relax. Just wait for it.

I wrote to my state senator, asking him to vote for an amended version of Georgia Senate Bill 281: Dangerous Instrumentalities and Practices; possession of automatic and semi-automatic guns; prohibit; revise and provide definitions.

“Amended” version, because the bill includes some troubling things like a ban on “high capacity” magazines (10+) and outlawing private sales at gun shows. But I want the ban — total, not just “assault weapons;” no grandfathering — to pass as written. It’s all in the definition of “automatic and semi-automatic guns.”

As used in this part, the term:
(1) ‘Automatic or semi-automatic gun’ means any weapon which shoots or is designed to shoot:
(A) Automatically, more than six shots, without manual reloading, by a single function of the trigger; or
(B) Without any action needed to fire consecutive shots, other than having ammunition loaded in such weapon’s feeding device.

You see it, don’t you? Maybe not: “Automatically, more than six shots” or “Without any action”

So this letter went to Georgia Senator William Ligon, 3rd District:

Sen. Ligon,

I’m one of your constituents in St Marys, and a writer for The Zelman Partisans and The Truth About Guns. I cover firearms policy and law.

Sen Donzella James has filed SB 281 (Dangerous Instrumentalities and Practices; possession of automatic and semi-automatic guns; prohibit), I hope you will consider the following actions and encourage your fellow legislators to go along.

1. Amend to strike the ban on “high” capacity magazines (more than ten rounds) and private sales at gun shows.

2. Vote to pass the remaining ban on “possession of automatic and semi-automatic guns.”

As written, Sen. James has succeeded in “banning” semi-autos without actually banning anything, except possibly malfunctioning firearms. Passing this would be hilarious. If you aren’t quite sure why, this column explains.

Thank you for your time.

If you live in Georgia, you may want to contact your own senator.

For those concerned about Georgians losing machine guns, worry not. The bill leaves intact existing language in the law which had already banned machine guns unless they’re registered under the NFA.
