Well, in the wake of the third or fourth or possibly fifth assassination attempt on President Trump, I think almost everyone would agree our country is vastly different than it was when President Reagan was shot.
I see this Chinese finger puzzle as being made up with different strands woven together that form a trap that is very difficult to get off unless you know the trick.
I see the current climate in America as having different strands that are entrapping U.S. and they exert their pull in different places, but work together to keep the fingers locked in the trap.
Attitudes
The first component to this is the left’s, communists, Islamists attitude towards political violence.
I’ve seen some pretty interesting polls. I guess there won’t be anything really shocking, but how you view them will say as much about the reader as it does the poll. I asked Brave about the attitude of those on the left towards political violence.
I’ve found all kinds of interesting tidbits as I’ve prowled the internet. First little tidbit is how some of these categories are viewed. For instance at the Center for Strategic & International Studies, they choose to lump right wing violence in with Jihadi violence. Huh.
Our analysis of terrorism trends in the United States shows that, indeed, left-wing violence has risen in the last 10 years, particularly since President Donald Trump’s rise to political prominence in 2016, although it has risen from very low levels and remains much lower than historical levels of violence carried out by right-wing and jihadist attackers. More contentious politics in the United States and the expansion of the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement appear to have reenergized violent left-wing extremists. The left-wing movement as a whole has not returned to its violent heights of the 1960s and 1970s, but the number of terrorist incidents involving left-wing extremists so far this year puts 2025 on pace to be the left’s most violent year in more than three decades. Moreover, 2025 marks the first time in more than 30 years that left-wing attacks outnumber those from the far right.
According to an April 2025 poll conducted by the Network Contagion Research Institute in partnership with Rutgers University’s Social Perception Lab, 56% of self-identified left-of-center respondents said murdering Trump would be at least “somewhat justified,” with 14.1% calling it “completely justified.”
Liz is horrified by these numbers.
“Fifty-six percent of people on the left — that’s not just the mainstream media and the loudest influencers on X and YouTube, the freaks of the Democratic Party and Congress. This is over half of Democrats,” she says. “That means if you walk up to someone on a street, you meet a neighbor, a co-worker, and you find out that they voted for Kamala Harris or that they lean left, they are more likely than not going to justify a potential assassination of Donald Trump.”

Political violence targeting Donald Trump and Elon Musk is becoming increasingly normalized.
Following the July 13, 2024 attempted assassination of President Trump, tolerance – and even advocacy – for political violence appears to have surged, especially among politically left-leaning segments of the population. This pattern builds on a broader trend NCRI identified in two December 2024 reports which analyzed how viral social media narratives were legitimizing political violence, particularly in the aftermath of the UnitedHealthcare CEO’s assassination.

Support for Political Violence Among Americans
Around 1 in 3 younger adults (GenZ and Millennials) expressed support for political violence.
Support for political violence was highest among those identifying as politically “very liberal.”
Liberal GenZ women were more supportive of political violence than were GenX and Baby Boomer men.
Americans with the highest level of educational attainment (graduate or professional degree) were about twice as likely to support political violence than those with less formal education.
Over half of Black GenZ adults agreed that “Violence is often necessary to create social change.”

Far-left streamer Hasan Piker warns ‘American empire’ will inevitably fall, likely in violent fashion
Far-left Twitch streamer Hasan Piker declared the American empire is “fading fast” and will “inevitably fall,” when addressing Yale University’s Political Union on Tuesday.
Empires “rarely die quietly,” Piker told Yale students, adding, “They go out over the course of sometimes centuries, but in America’s case, probably a lot shorter, with increasing amounts of violence.”
Piker came out in support of a resolution “End the American Empire” during the speech at Yale that irked conservatives before it began.
What modern demoncrat, minus John Fetterman, wouldn’t want to have a streamer that campaigns for the downfall of America go on the stage with them? Because many many demoncrats are having him come campaign and appear with them.
So now you have a profile of who and what their attitude is towards political violence.
Actions
You can have certain attitudes about something that may predispose you towards certain actions, but that does not mean you’ll carry them out. I’m sure many Americans think slapping duct tape over the the anti-American Eleven-han Omar’s mouth and shipping her back to Somali where her family did so much damage is the correct thing to do. But would we ourselves actually do that? Unlikely.
So the next strand in the finger puzzle to be considered are the actions of the left.
The first I’ve just listed, which group is committing most of the political violence in our country. And unless you lump the religion of pieces in with violence from the right, the answer is the left is doing most of it now.
Who within the left is the most likely to commit acts of violence, the actions that follow the attitudes.
Politically Motivated Killers: 51 Years of Terrorist Murders on US Soil, 1975–2025
The political motivations of the terrorist killers are divided into the following categories: Islamism; foreign nationalism; right (anti-communism, white supremacy, anti-vaccine, incel beliefs, anti-abortion, pro-Christian, etc.); left (communism, black supremacy, anti-white, animal rights, environmentalism, etc.); separatism of various kinds; and unknown/other. Violent attacks against the police are ideologically categorized based on available evidence, but most are committed by left-wing terrorists. Men with incel (“involuntarily celibate”) beliefs are included in the right ideological motivation category because those beliefs include social misogyny, anti-feminist, anti-women, anti–out-group, and pro-hierarchy.9 There are only a few incel killers, so readers who disagree with this ideological judgment can make the adjustment themselves and see that it barely affects the ideological distribution of the killers.
Most of the terrorists in the unknown/other category have an “other” ideology, such as Thomas Jacob Sanford, who murdered four people in a 2025 attack on a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meetinghouse in Michigan. His premeditated attack was motivated by his anti-Mormon beliefs. Thomas Matthew Crooks’ motivation in shooting Trump on July 13, 2024, remains a mystery because he left behind no writing indicating a motive.10 However, his target was so political that the odds are that the assassination attempt was politically motivated. There are only a handful of killers in this dataset with “unknown” motivations that almost certainly were political; these are the exceptions that violate the general rule of judging entirely the motivations of killers based on their writings rather than the target.
Despite having security present, Daviscourt, a reporter for The Post Millennial and Human Events, was forced to abandon her work as black-bloc extremists swarmed her in what she described as a coordinated “direct action” organized by the domestic terrorist group Antifa.
Daviscourt livestreamed the attack and posted a clip to X shortly after it happened.
This is an excellent short video clip from Tim Poole on political violence. He did some excellent research. Well worth listening to. This will also mention the incidents that some of these groups count as right wing violence. Tim makes a good case the violence has been left wing for a long time.
But Schmitt turned the spotlight where it belongs: on the hypocrisy of the left’s endless smears against conservatives as “extremists,” “MAGA Republicans,” “fascists,” and “Nazis” while ignoring their own violent foot soldiers.
Schmitt came loaded with receipts and shredded the Democrats’ favorite gaslighting tactic that both sides are equally guilty of political violence.

Students called for Craven to be slapped and used a disparaging word as well on the group’s materials.
And she has been physically assaulted by the group in the past.
Leftist Political Violence is an Existential Threat to the Republic
When you consider the accepting attitudes of the left towards political violence, and the actions they are willing to take to advance their cause I think it makes some things quite clear. A couple of these stories, Katie Daviscourt and Savannah Craven are concerning just every day people. Katie is a reporter, but not a political figure really, Savannah was just there with a table with TPUSA literature, and this wasn’t her first bad experience with some of the left who have physically assaulted her in the past and left her bloodied. Does anyone really believe deranged anti-NICE activists Renee Good and Pretti were just “scared” or her car slid on the ice? No, they are deliberate actions by leftists that are lauded by their side. The left views it as a win either way. A NICE agent (National Immigration and Customs Enforcement) gets run over, again, or Renee gets shot and they use it as fodder to attack NICE. But Renee was under the impression it’s fine to attack law enforcement with no consequences. Happened in the Floyd riots, and with Walz as governor and Frey as mayor she was used to hobbled law enforcement. But if she was willing to run over an armed agent, why wouldn’t she be willing to attack a reporter or a young student at a TPUSA table, smiling as she did it?
So if you look at the manifesto of Cole Thomas Allen, he lists several accusations of truly horrific things. Where did he get such notions? That brings us to the spread of the lies and hatred.
The media and “influencers”.
So there are a few different parts to this threat to the unity of country, and basically to our country. Certainly the media and influencers are a strand that is creating a lot of the pull.
Scott Jennings: ‘We Have a Left-Wing Violence Problem in America’
“In the hours that followed the dinner, which was postponed, a clear picture emerged. This man, a school teacher with a PhD from CalTech, had been marinated in standard-issue Left-wing talking points,” Jennings said, “things you hear every day on cable news and on the Left’s social media websites. He also attended a ‘No Kings’ rally, apparently, where people routinely hold signs and call for Trump’s death.”
“‘Trump is Hitler,’ ‘Trump is a fascist,’ ‘Trump is a racist,’ ‘Trump is a threat to democracy,’ ‘Trump is a pedophile.’ That is what Cole Allen was marinating in on a regular basis, and he was programmed by people like Congressman Ted Lieu,” Jennings noted.
The Would-Be Assassin: The Problem Isn’t Education — It’s Ideological Isolation
In 2024, The Duke Chronicle wrote: “In the Harvard Crimson’s spring 2023 faculty survey, 31.8% of respondents drawn from Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences identified as ‘very liberal,’ while 45.3% of respondents identified as ‘liberal.’ Fewer than 3% of respondents identified as ‘conservative’ (2.5%) or ‘very conservative’ (0.4%).”
Looking at the response to the third assassination attempt on Trump, I’m even more convinced the Left is deranged. Many are saying the attempt was staged. Others are saying Trump’s rhetoric started it. We need to start realizing that Democrats want us dead. The only reason we will win this long-term battle is that we are armed. We must never give up our right to bear arms, because that’s exactly what the Left wants next. We are getting uncomfortably close to how the Spanish Civil War was started. That war was started because the communists started losing their power. We need to realize what time it is and the threats that we face. The only reason why the Left calls Trump “Hitler” and Republicans fascists is to give others permission to take him and us out.
Well, that’s clear enough.
How the Media Killed Charlie Kirk and Are Fanning Political Violence
Christian conservative commentator Charlie Kirk built his career visiting college campuses and engaging in open debate with anyone who disagreed with him. The media portrayed him as a racist and homophobe, and as with Trump, many on the left posted calls for his death online. When he was killed, the celebrations were widespread. Those who justified his murder repeatedly cited media fabrications about what Kirk believed and what he had said.
The documented record shows that media coverage and social media amplification produced outright fabrications, decontextualized clips, and false attributions, some circulating the day he was murdered and used to justify his killing.
And this is a big part, the media, especially the mainstream media, just flat out lie about people they don’t agree with. They lie and accuse them of being basically the opposite of who they really are. Charlie nor President Trump are racist. Neither are homophobic, nor pedophiles. But the poor deluded people that listen only to the mainstream media, or those on the left, but I repeat myself, believe them! Just like the terrorist school teacher Cole Allen apparently really believed those things.
The Latest Trump Assassination Attempt, How Media Narratives Fuel Violence
The April 25, 2026 attack at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner was the fifth documented attempt against President Donald Trump in less than a decade. The first, largely forgotten by the media, came in 2016, when Michael Steven Sandford attempted to seize an officer’s weapon at a Trump rally in Las Vegas.

The media enabled violence against both men through sustained false framing. Trump was portrayed for years as a Russian asset and a threat to democracy. Using out-of-context quotes and selective framing, the media painted Kirk as a racist and a homophobe. Some on the left called for the deaths of both men and celebrated when Kirk was killed.
So, how can the media and these “influencers” just flat out lie about politicians are regular people? How can they just say “they saw it in a dream” or make up these things without batting an eye? Moral rot. And if anything has put the moral rot on full display, in addition to the lies about President Trump and conservatives, be they in some group or just people, it’s the attacks on Ericka Kirk that started shortly after her husband was so very publicly murdered in front of the nation. They were started just as conversations began about accountability for things said that were untrue about Charlie. A corrupt, greedy, morally depraved lying grifter who was jealous of Ericka because Charlie chose Ericka and not her. I will just say, I’m glad Ericka and the kids don’t have a pet rabbit….
And the evil just multiplied.
Jennifer Welch Is Proof That Hate Makes You Ugly
Jennifer Welch — or as I like to call her, “Jennifer Miserable Wench” — took to her “I’ve Had It” podcast this week to unload on Erika Kirk for the unforgivable sin of looking at a camera.
The widow of assassinated Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk had the audacity to film a segment for her late husband’s show. She wore black. She looked serious. She spoke about the future of the conservative movement. For this abhorrent crime, Welch dressed up like a discount Matrix extra, mocked the outfit as “cosplaying as an assassin,” and declared Erika “the racist fascist about whom I am talking.”
She used the word “whom!” Brilliant commentary. Except it’s not. It’s performative art for the clinically miserable.
It should go without saying, but this is pretty despicable. Erika Kirk has two small children and no husband. Before Charlie was gunned down in cold blood at a college event last September, most of the world had no idea who she was. After his death, she became the Left’s universal grievance vacuum. The same online ghouls who cheered that assassination are now using Erika as their personal punching bag, drowning her in the same hatred that ultimately killed the love of her life.
Honestly, I think people like President Trump, or other conservatives should consider suing the media or comedians when they make claims of pedophile or racist and let them explain in court what evidence they have to have made such a slanderous statement. The fact it hasn’t happened yet tells me there is probably a good reason. But I would like to see it. I don’t know if it would change the minds of any of the evil minions on the left to hear they’ve been lied to, but at least it might make some of the manure spreaders think a couple of times before making such statements.
Failing sources of morality and guidance.
The last strand I will mention is the lack or failure of what would have been places of good moral guidance in the past that today either provide none, or it is completely perverted.

“Hello everybody,” the message began. Over more than 1,000 words, Allen wove together apologies to loved ones, political grievances, and religious reasoning. He cited Scripture throughout and argued that Christians have a moral obligation to resist unjust authority through force.
So, I suppose if you really believe all the things you’ve been told in your church, or the mainstream media, or corrupt podcasters, you would think you are saving the world by killing a president. In other words, the terrorist believed he was on the side of god and the angels. Huh.
The terrorist teacher, Cole Allen was teaching in California, which with all the DEI and such isn’t a high bar, obviously. But just think what he might have been teaching his students! And he is far from the only one! LibsOfTikTok often puts out videos of teachers and nurses that they’ve posted to their own accounts lamenting that President Trump wasn’t killed or celebrating that Charlie Kirk was. They are influencing their students. Think Cole Allen was the only deranged teacher out there? You saw the AMAC article…Let’s look at just Chicago on May day, the communist celebration day apparently. In just Chicago, where a huge amount of students can not preform to grade level in math, reading or science. What do the “teachers” in Chicago think is the most important thing for their students?

Chicago’s May Day Action Civics Nightmare
The semi-insane plans of the socialist-friendly 30,000-strong Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) to do all of the above this May Day drew national attention early last month. The controversy largely faded from national discussion, however, when Chicago Public Schools (CPS) refused to suspend classes for political rallies on May Day. In truth, however, after tough negotiations, the teachers’ union has won. Technically, classes will be held on May 1. But the agreement struck by the CTU and CPS requires CPS to provide food and transportation for students from at least 100 schools to attend anti-Trump rallies on May 1. Many thousands of students are expected. What’s more, future May Days are to be set aside for “teacher professional development” — meaning classes will be out, and teachers will be able to lead students in leftist political demonstrations, as CTU plans to do.
Dueling press releases by the CTU and CPS have obscured the truth and tamped down the public response. But the fact is that a socialist-friendly teachers’ union has managed to set aside May Day and its run-up for years to come for the partisan political indoctrination of students.
Who the heck is responsible for hiring and do they not have a code of ethics??? Think what these kids are going to be like when they graduate! Can’t read or write, but they can chant and hate. What a poor investment of tax dollars!
So going forward, where might this lead?
I usually agree with many of the things Nick Freitas says, and not too long after the 5th attempt on President Trump, he put this video out. It’s not totally depressing.
Suggestions
So, I feel like I should at least offer a couple of helpful suggestions. These concern the ongoing failures of the secret service. How alert do these agents appear to be? Even the terrorist teacher talked about how lax security was when he scoped it out.
Cole Allen rushes Secret Service
This is a much cleaner video than I first saw of the domestic terrorist school teacher Cole Allen rushing past the secret service.
The ONLY agent that really picked up on the threat has four legs, and he/she, knew there was something hinkey about Allen. I’m not really sure which sex the dog is, and if I knew the dogs name I’d give it credit. And no one has mentioned it yet that I’ve seen. The handler should have listened.
Perhaps we do need more canine agents, dogs bring a level on knowledge humans can’t. Their sense of smell and sight will top ours every time. They also have a different kind of instinct. But the handlers have to trust their partner.
And my final helpful tip, after watching the terrorist teacher Cole Allen sprint past the Secret Service and Met Police agents, perhaps we could have principal Kirk Moore from OK train some Secret Service agents and the police?
So can we get out of the Chinese finger trap? It’s a puzzle for sure. But when they say they want to kill us, believe them. Their attitude is that it’s the right thing, their actions show they’re willing and they have plenty of people egging them on and a failure of a moral compass. I don’t believe it’s idle threats now.
