Baldwin’s Gun Was Modified?

This claim comes via the not-so-reliable LA Times.

‘Rust’ prosecutors drop charges against Alec Baldwin after questions over gun misfire
The development came after prosecutors received new information in the case — that Baldwin’s prop gun had been modified before being delivered to the low-budget western in October 2021, according to three people familiar with the matter who were not authorized to comment.

The replica of the vintage weapon — a Colt .45 revolver — had been modified , increasing the odds that the gun might have misfired, as Baldwin has said, according to the sources.

Methinks someone neglected to read the FBI forensic report on the testing of the gun. Here’s is the relevant portion (page 6).

TL;DR: They tried to force it to fire without pulling the trigger by pounding on the hammer with a mallet 1) with the hammer down, 2) at quarter cock, 3) at half cock, and 4) at full cock. The only detonation occurred in the full cock position…

…when they pounded the hammer so hard that the sear sheered.

Prior to the breakage, the gun operated properly and would not fire.

Accidental Discharge Testing

Hammer at rest (de-cocked on a loaded chamber)
With the hammer at rest on a loaded chamber, Item 2 detonated a primer without a pull of the trigger when the hammer was struck directly. With a revolver of this design, when the hammer is at rest on a loaded chamber, the firing pin sits directly on the primer of the cartridge. When force is applied to the hammer, such as striking or dropping, it can fire the cartridge without a pull of the trigger. This is consistent with normal operation for a single-action revolver of this design.

Hammer at ¼ and ½ cock positions
With the hammer in the ¼ and ½ cock positions, Item 2 could not be made to fire without a pull of the trigger. When enough pressure was applied to the trigger, each of these safety positions were overcome and the hammer fell. This is consistent with normal operation for a single-action revolver of this design.

With the hammer in the ¼ cock position, pressure was applied to the trigger and the hammer fell, however the firing pin did not have enough force to detonate the primer and resulted in light firing pin strikes.

With the hammer in the ½ cock position, pressure was applied to the trigger and the hammer fell, however the cylinder could not be properly aligned to the bore, the firing pin struck the outer headstamp area and did not detonate the primer.

Hammer at full cock position

With the hammer in the full cock position, Item 2 could not be made to fire without a pull of the trigger while the working internal components were intact and functional. During this testing, portions of the trigger sear and cylinder stop fractured while the hammer was struck. The fracture of these internal components allowed the hammer to fall and the firing pin and detonated the primer. This was the only successful discharge during this testing and it was attributed to the fracture of internal components, not the failure of the firearm or safety mechanisms.

This claim that the gun was modified makes me wonder if they got the gun back from the FBI, noticed that now it can misfire, but overlooked the FBI statement that they broke the sear themselves, which most definitely had been working properly pre-mallet-pounding.

I’d like to know who these unnamed sources are, and just what their “familiarity” is. Designated defense teams leakers, perhaps?

Alec Baldwin: Spin, Spin, Spin

Yes, I’m a little late to the game. I wanted to be sure I had all the relevant reports from officialdom. I think it’s generally better to be accurate, than rapidly off target.

Alec Baldwin and his attorney are spinning like tops, trying to counter the — expected — damning report on the forensic examination of the firearm Baldwin used to kill Halyna Hutchins.

Baldwin has previously suggested that Rust Assistant Director Dave Halls and Armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed are to blame for the shooting. He claims that they declared the gun “cold” when it was actually “hot,” and he has accused them of not doing enough checks.

Baldwin also had possession of the gun. What of his responsibility to do a check, or to handle the firearm in a responsible manner?

“The FBI report is being misconstrued,” Baldwin’s attorney said. “The gun fired in testing only one time — without having to pull the trigger — when the hammer was pulled back and the gun broke in two different places.”

“The FBI was unable to fire the gun in any prior test, even when pulling the trigger, because it was in such poor condition,” the lawyer added.

Except that is definitely not what the FBI report says.

Item 2 is a .45 Colt (.45 Long Colt) caliber F.lli Pietta single-action revolver, Model 1873 SA (Californian), Serial Number E52277, which functioned normally when tested in the Laboratory.

“Unable to fire […] because it was in such poor condition” is not “functioned normally.”

Additionally, Item 2 has a hammer with a fixed firing pin and does not contain any internal safety mechanisms to prevent the firing pin from striking the primer of a chambered cartridge, such as a transfer bar or hammer block. This is consistent with normal operation for a single-action revolver of this design.

Again, normal operation; not failed to fire due to poor condition. I suspect that the shyster is basing his false claim that the gun failed to fire on this single, out of context sentence, from the FBI report.

This was the only successful discharge during this testing and it was attributed to the fracture of internal components, not the failure of the firearm or safety mechanisms.

Fuller context: “this testing” refers to the “Accidental Discharge Testing” section of the report. “This testing” failed to obtain a discharge without pulling the trigger when the weapon has at both quarter cock and half cock. Because the sear stops functioned normally.

At full cock, the FBI was able to cause the weapon to discharge without a trigger pull… only by pounding on the hammer so hard that the sear broke.

The sear functioned normally (yeah, that phrase again) until the FBI managed to break a previously normally functioning firearm in forcing a failure.

This report doesn’t exonerate Baldwin by demonstrating a firearm in poor condition. It condemns the lying bastard by proving the gun was working properly while in Baldwin’s criminally negligent hands.

Baldwin, and too many excuse-making media outlets make a big deal of the Medical Examiner’s report seemingly clearing Baldwin of culpability by declaring the incident an accident. Sure enough, that word appears on the report summary page (page 35).

MANNER OF DEATH: Accident

Alone and out of context. Let’s read the rest of the report for the details of that one word. Page 37:

Death was caused by a gunshot wound of the chest. Review of available law enforcement reports showed no compelling demonstration that the firearm was intentionally loaded with live ammunition on set. Based on all available information, including the absence of obvious intent to cause harm or death, the manner of death is best classified as accident.

I’ll grant that Baldwin probably had no intent to cause Hutchin’s death, or to wound Souza. That leaves a lot of room for negligence, which makes it involuntary manslaughter on Baldwin’s part.

Involuntary manslaughter consists of manslaughter committed in the commission of an unlawful act not amounting to felony, or in the commission of a lawful act which might produce death in an unlawful manner or without due caution and circumspection.

Ignoring, thus violating, every basic rule of firearms handing is most definitely “without due caution and circumspection.”.

Baldwin negligently failed to check the gun he was handling. Because why would an allegedly responsible adult do what little kds successfully learn, when he has babysitters to do it for him?

He negligently pointed the loaded firearm at two human beings. Because he’s only an allegedly responsible adult, and someone supposedly told him to do it.

He negligently fired a normally functioning gun at those two human beings. Because who knew that if you hold the trigger down while pulling the hammer back, the normally functioning loaded gun would function normally. Because what allegedly responsible adult could expect such a normal occurrence?

Others may share some additional culpability in this senseless killing, particularly the so-called “armorer.” Why was live ammo on a movie set at all? Why did the armorer not properly examine her supposedly dummy and blank rounds to be sure of what she had? Why was any round — dummy, blank, or live — loaded into a gun for a rehearsal that didn’t call for a discharge? Why was anyone but the “armorer” handing Baldwin a firearm?

But if Baldwin had followed a few basic rules, the possible failures of others still would not have mattered. Is he a responsible adult? I’m dubious, because his “I didn’t know the gun was loaded” sounds remarkably like the act of a three year-old.

In the final analysis, despite any additional culpability on the part of others, Alec Baldwin is responsible for the negligent killing of Halyna Hutchins. He failed to check the weapon. He pointed it at two people. He discharged a normally functioning firearm at them.

Alec Baldwin killed Halyna Hutchins.

All that remains to be seen is if New Mexico authorities will even do the right thing, or protect Baldwin, and future film production income for the state. I’m also dubious of the right thing happening, since Baldwin wasn’t arrested and formally charged months ago.

Welcome to Amerizuela

Welcome to the 3rd world banana republic known as Amerizuela. Or perhaps Ukranica? A place where political opponents are held in a gulag as POWs for over a year and are harassed by weaponized law-enforcement. They have reached new lows. As probably everyone has heard President Trump’s home Mar-A-Lago was raided by the corrupt FIB.

I like many other Americans, of both political parties by the way, view this as an outrage. How do I know both political parties? Because Arizona state Senator Wendy Rogers posted on GAB that she was hearing from Demoncrats that are, while not equally appalled, are appalled none the less.

No one likes where this country is headed under the Biden crime junta. It is obvious that a vote for a Demoncrat brings a weaponized IRS. 87,000 new IRS agents, nothing for the border or military mind you, but to go after the middle class that elected Donald J. Trump? 87,000 new IRS agents. The total budget for the border patrol is less than just the increase in what the IRS is getting.

The weaponized IRS

Biden Puts IRS Funding Ahead of Military and Border Security

And when I say “weaponized IRS” I mean weaponized. This is from August 1st of this year.

IRS Stockpiles More Than 5 Million Rounds of Ammunition

Democrats’ Inflation Bill Will Add Agents to an Already Armed IRS – Only Democrats and China Win

So remember that meme that was popular awhile back?

They’re after YOU

Yep, guess they will be.

But first, they have to take out the Donald.

And so the corrupt Biden, Garland and Wray have descended into 3rd world banana republic tactics.

They raided Mar-A-Lago.

The excuse was some documents that had been packed up by the GSA. Why do I say excuse? Because the corrupt FIB was just there in June when the Trumps were there and were in the room where they are kept locked up for several hours with the President’s lawyers and went through them. President Trump even stopped by to say hello. But now that the Trumps are in NJ, they find it necessary to “raid” his home.

FBI searched Melania’s wardrobe, spent hours in Trump’s private office during Mar-a-Lago raid

This article is a wealth of information.

The Post has learned that the search warrant used by the FBI to enter the palatial Palm Beach property focused solely on presidential records and evidence of classified information being stored there.

….

The raid by over 30 plain clothes agents from the Southern District of Florida and the FBI’s Washington Field Office extended through the Trump family’s entire 3,000-square-foot private quarters, as well as to a separate office and safe, and a locked basement storage room in which 15 cardboard boxes of material from the White House were stored.

Interesting. The Washington field office. That’s where the lead agent that was in charge of the fake Whitmer kidnapping was promoted to. He’s now in charge of the Washington office. This came out in Sen. Ted Cruz’s grilling of the corrupt Chris Wray. Now I’ve heard theories that Merrick Garland has his panties in a knot because he blames the right for being denied his place on the Supreme Court. Maybe, I don’t know. But I do find it interesting that about 5 days after it comes out the corrupt agent in charge of the Detroit field office and the Whitmer kidnapping is now the corrupt agent in charge of the Washington office and suddenly we have a corrupt raid on President Trump, and Melania’s wardrobe I might add. They think presidential records are kept in her ball gowns? If I were Melania I’d have the whole place fumigated.

But back to our raid, the President’s lawyers were forced to stay outside, so who knows what that wiretapping bunch planted. And they were very arrogant as they went places they weren’t allowed to be per the warrant.

Another group of agents, including a professional safe cracker, moved to a separate part of the enormous 1924 Spanish stucco building to search Trump’s office and safe.

The demeanor of the three DOJ lawyers who accompanied the FBI was described by one eyewitness as “arrogant,” and they repeatedly told Trump representatives: “We have full access to everything. We can go everywhere.”

So where did the warrant come from? Who signed off on it? Oh, Jeffrey Epstein’s lawyer!

US Judge in Florida Approved Search Warrant for FBI Raid on Trump’s Resort

(Bruce)Reinhart was a senior prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida during the prosecution of late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Shortly after a non-prosecution agreement was reached with Epstein, who pleaded guilty to a single state-level charge in exchange for not being prosecuted by federal officials, Reinhart “joined Epstein’s payroll,” according to documents entered by lawyers for women Epstein allegedly abused.

Reinhart, a criminal defense attorney at the time, represented “numerous Epstein employees and pilots” in civil cases filed against Epstein by alleged victims, including Epstein’s housekeeper Louella Ruboyo and pilot Larry Morrison.

“On information and belief, Reinhart’s representation of these individuals was paid, directly or indirectly, by Epstein,” one document says. “Such representations are in contravention of Justice Department regulations and Florida bar rules. Such representations also give, at least, the improper appearance that Reinhart may have attempted to curry with Epstein and then reap his reward through favorable employment.”

Reinhart responded with a motion for sanctions, saying the documents contained “unfounded factual and legal accusations.” He asked for leave to intervene in the case.

But the FIB always fights for “truth, justice and the American way!” Right?

As Jack Posobiec, political commentator and former intelligence officer, points out in his podcast that back in the Viet Nam era no one trusted the FIB and the government. We have a national security state in charge of our government. The FIB & CIA are the 4th branch, the operations arm of the administrative state. Then he gave a list. It’s worth listening to the podcast. They lied about a lot. Comey, Mueller and many other familiar names have been corrupt for a long time. The “Did you know” part is quite interesting. This episode was called American Stasi.

But let’s see, what happened with some people it sure seems should have been investigated?

Not Raided by FBI: Bidens, Clintons, Russia Hoaxers, Black Lives Matter

FBI raid on Trump compound stands in stark contrast to Clinton treatment years earlier

Hunter’s FBI

You would think that the FIB would have a clue how the normal average American would feel about seeing their country turned into a banana republic by a corrupt justice department. You would think that Merrick Garland would have a clue, but hey his son-in-law makes his money selling Critical Race Theory materials to schools and he sicced the FIB on parents calling them terrorists and he got away with that, so guess he’s not worried. And I don’t think they have a clue.

How the FBI’s Raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Was Viewed by Millions of Americans

The message is clear. The government under Democrats hates us, and they will sic federal agencies on Americans who dare to defy the parameters and agenda set by the political class. If half the nation doesn’t feel that justice is blind, that federal law enforcement agencies are professional and impartial, and that law and order is now dependent on party affiliation, then the stability of our system could be placed in doubt. Democrats have set us on a path toward civil war if they continue with this campaign of overreach under Biden

And now the corrupt BATFE is getting in on the act.

Sinister move by ATF should serve as warning Seems the BATFE now wants addresses for buyers that are delayed!

But as the letter notes, the ATF is demanding contact information for delayed NICS checks.

For the uninitiated, this may make perfect sense. After all, we don’t know if those delayed checks are criminals trying to buy guns or not.

Except, that’s literally not how the law works. A delayed background check is supposed to be treated as a passed check. Further, according to a couple of gun store owners and employees I’ve spoken with, something like 95 percent, at a minimum, of all delayed NICS checks are people with no criminal history. The system just created a delay for some unfathomable reason.

This is bad! The whole DOJ is corrupt. But, I have a practical solution to these problems and more!

Our southern border is a hot mess. When Republicans take control of the house and senate in January all the new IRS agents, who are very well armed, are going to be sent to the border to help secure it. All 87,000 of them. The FIB and the ATF are going to be disbanded in the current form. But I don’t want the good people that have been held hostage by the corruption at the top to be un-employed in the Biden “recovery”. Nope, they will now be tasked with finding all the illegal immigrants in our country. They’re trained for that, right? They will round them up and ship them back to their country of origin. This will save our country millions of dollars! And lastly, fire Merrick Garland, Chris Wray and Steven Dettelbach. Now that will be money well saved, and from the firing of those three we give the border patrol bonuses! See! There are solutions! Follow me for more practical, money saving budgeting ideas.

Knock Knock, Avon Calling

It seems the Biden junta weaponized alphabet agencies are getting frisky. It seems they feel America is no longer a country ruled by laws but by dictatorial fiat, so they want to prove themselves as big a hero as Lila Morris the DC cop who beat an unconscious Roseanne Boyland to death and was then declared a “hero”. Hmph, must be handing that title out in crackerjacks now like they did Barry Sotero’s “Nobel Peace Prize”, snort, giggle, chuckle guffaw.

So if you ever wondered why states like Missouri passed a Second Amendment Preservation Act that prevents local law enforcement agencies from assisting federal agencies one only needs take a look at some recent activity. I can’t help it if a Senatorial candidate (Greitens) objects to the SAPA because it prevents local law enforcement being roped into the federal abuse of citizens. But hey, it took the guy five years to figure out being a Young Global leader in the WEF was a bad thing, so looking down the road may not be his strong suit.

For evidence I offer Delaware. Oh were you thinking the ATF didn’t have a firearm registry?

In Missouri, the useless biased hack known as Chris Wray decided he would “audit” the records of Missouri concealed carry holders. The Attorney General Eric Schmitt nicely told him to go pound sand. Delicious!! You’ll enjoy reading it.

https://ago.mo.gov/docs/default-source/press-releases/2022-7-13-ltr-fbi.pdf?sfvrsn=5fbbdf7_2

Apparently they were going to try the Avon calling routine in Washington as well as Delaware.

A Washington state sheriff recently advised residents in his county that if agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) come to their homes without a search warrant asking to inspect their firearms, they can tell them to leave their property.

Klickitat County Sheriff Bob Songer said in a press statement on Friday that agents are “making surprise home visits of persons who have purchased two or more firearms at one time. To my knowledge, these ATF visits have not occurred in Washington State yet.”

Sheriff Songer told The Washington Times he became concerned about the Second Amendment rights of the residents of Klickitat County after viewing a doorbell video that showed a firearms owner who ATF agents coerced, without a warrant, to inspect his firearms.

And as our Bear recently pointed out, ATF COPYING A&D BOOKS

Damned right it’s illegal. The “no registry/database” was the “compromise” that FOPA gave us when we lost new machine guns.

Here’s the thing, the alphabet agencies think they are above the law. The law doesn’t apply to them. They enjoy inflicting fear and pain on innocent citizens but when it comes to them…..well then. I found this very enlightening. The behavior of the agent is despicable, he was terrorizing an innocent woman at home with her children. I believe it was the landlord that came over and thanked the police.

The video is 15:38 long, and probably worth watching every bit of it. The comments under the video are pretty interesting as well. They do go talk to the scared woman who called the police in the first place.

In my humble opinion this is how all these interactions should be handled. Poor lady, poor kids. But rockin’ awesome police officers standing up for the scared innocent citizens.

The alphabets, they do love their power.

With the betrayal of Joe Manchin, again, friends don’t ever vote Demoncrat, there are going to be some changes. Even if they say they’re moderate, or support ________ they will have to tow the Demoncrat party line. Which these days is somewhere around Stalin on the scale. But back to the changes, people making under $200,000 a year are going to have a tiny little increase in their taxes despite the liar in chief’s promises.

The energy and health care deal from Sens. Joe Manchin and Chuck Schumer would raise taxes on millions of Americans earning less than $400,000 annually, Senate Republicans say, citing nonpartisan data.

The Congressional Joint Committee on Taxation found that taxes would jump by $16.7 billion on American taxpayers making less than $200,000 in 2023 and raise another $14.1 billion on taxpayers who make between $200,000 and $500,000.

During the 10-year window, the average tax rate would go up for most income categories, the Senate GOP said, citing the data from the joint committee. And by 2031, new energy credits and subsidies would have people earning less than $400,000 pay as much as two-thirds of the additional tax revenue collected that year, the release said.

WOWZA! That’s a lot of money! Now regular citizens when their household spending increase due to a fraudulent communist being placed in office who issues a lot of illegal executive orders, well they have to trim the budget somewhere else. Like, less eating out, no movies, maybe even cut off the cable #FakeNews to make ends meet. So since we are now supporting millions of illegal aliens, with more pouring across the boarder daily I think the federal government needs to trim their burden on the taxpayer…now where oh where I wonder could we trim. Would we miss the alphabets if the went away? Would it be so bad if parents could go to school board meeting unmolested? If law abiding citizens could feel secure in their homes? Wouldn’t it be nice if someone at the door who said they were Avon calling, really was Avon? If Hunter Biden knew there wasn’t anyone covering for him and “the big guy” any longer? Hmm, maybe just leave law-enforcement to the local professional officers that answer to their citizens? I dunno, but it’s a thought. Don’t like that one? Ok, hows about every single politician or un-elected bureaucrat (CDC I’m looking at you) that pushes gun control no longer has tax payer funded security? They get to live like the little people they are trying to deprive of their most effective self-defense tool? Certainly that should save some money! And with the Biden junta spending more money in Ukraine, who will send it back to corrupt politicians, we need to start these effective cost cutting measures at once! No time to waste! Like yesterday! Follow me for more simple, practical budgeting tips…

But the upshot, say no to tyranny. Very catchy tune by the way!

Can’t get one by them!

I can’t tell you how much confidence knowing the FBI is involved in an investigation inspires in me!

They are people of honor, of integrity known for their truthfulness and commitment to through investigation. Their crime solving ability is legendary, right? Criminals know they don’t stand a chance with those reknown sleuths are on their trail! They can’t be fooled, they are relentless and thus we can rest assured that truth, justice and American interests are safely protected in their capable hands.

I’m from the government and I’m here to help you.

I’m sure that just because people like Andrew MeCabe, Peter Strzok, and Robert Mueller have long and proud histories of corruption we can rest easily knowing at least they get the basics right. We can trust the FBI with evidence in important cases. It’s not like they would try to influence politics or elections with their positions.

So I’m sure it is in fact climate change that has set our beautiful forests in Oregon and Kalifornia ablaze. But whatever, we can rest assured, it is not antifa!

FBI Says Antifa Not Responsible For Setting Wildfires in Oregon

The FBI on Friday released a statement addressing viral ‘online rumors’ that political groups like Antifa are setting fires in Oregon.

“FBI Portland and local law enforcement agencies have been receiving reports that extremists are responsible for setting wildfires in Oregon. With our state and local partners, the FBI has investigated several such reports and found them to be untrue. Conspiracy theories and misinformation take valuable resources away local fire and police agencies working around the clock to bring these fires under control. Please help our entire community by only sharing validated information from official sources.” – the FBI said in a statement.

I recently got a desk calendar book from ArtScroll, and I just love it. At the bottom of every other page is a little something. This was the little something quite recently.

from Pirkei Avot

And this is exactly what we are seeing. Mob rule and elected officials that are scared like rabbits to do their job.

Omaha Bar Owner Shoots Protester Who Was Assaulting Him, Won’t Face Charges; Leftists Vow To Burn Bar Down

And why you ask, were the peaceful rioters after Jake Gardner? A) He was a volunteer on a Trump Campaign. B) He was accused of white supremacy. Why?

The harassment campaign against Gardner did not begin with the rioter that he shot in self-defense, but it may have been the reason that the mob was at his bar smashing his windows in the first place. For years, the far-left in Omaha has been targeting Gardner for supporting President Donald Trump and for building a third, unisex, bathroom in his bar for transgender customers to use.

….

In 2016, Gardner installed a third bathroom after an altercation between a transgender person and a biological woman took place in the restroom of one of his bars. The story made the local news after major outcry from LGBTQ activists in the city. He explained that a person wearing women’s clothes, but with male genitalia, had urinated standing up in the women’s bathroom, making a woman in there uncomfortable. She confronted the person, who then assaulted her. The attacker was kicked out of the bar and the victim declined to file a police report. That incident made Gardner decide to install a third bathroom, which could be used by people who needed it.

“The last thing I would want to do is hurt a member of (the transgender) community,” Gardner told the Omaha World-Herald at the time. “But people’s feelings are going to be hurt when you bring something up that is sensitive.”

For this the left went after him, attacked his bar (and other establishments) attacked his 71 year old father and him. He shot in self-defense. There is video of Jake trying to defuse the situation.

The left lost their collective minds, he wasn’t going to be charge? They were going to riot. So a grand jury was called.

His friend Sharp confirmed this, and elaborated on the threats against Gardner and his family, both prior to fatal incident with the rioter, and before.

Sharp noted that people were doxxing his mother and that his family was receiving death threats — in no small part thanks to a local activist named JaKeen Fox.

“Bottom line, without pressure from BLM the grand jury would have never been called,” Sharp said. “The leader of that push, JaKeen Fox, wrote tweets saying ‘Rest In Power’ to the Dallas cop killer.”

A “Go Fund Me” account was established for him to pay his legal expenses. Go Fund Me took it down.

And then Jake committed suicide. The Body of Omaha Bar Owner Jake Gardner Was Found 20 Minutes From Portland

And this piece of elected human detritus celebrated. Trashy Nebraska Senator Megan Hunt Admits Jake Gardner Persecution Was Mob Rule, Continues to Smear Him After His Suicide

“The indictment of Jake Gardner would never have happened without the community, the people, who stood up for justice and demanded action from city officials. Jake Gardner is gone, but the white supremacist attitudes that emboldened him are still with us today,” Hunt tweeted

And this is where we are. Not one single shred of evidence that Mr. Gardner was ever a white supremacist. The Democrats, #AspiringTyrants haven’t been able to abolish the 2nd Amendment (yet) so they will persecute you and prosecute you if you defend yourself. Your fate is subject to mob rule and threats. People are swallowing each other using the force of mobs and corrupt government. The agency responsible for law-enforcement is dirty and running cover for the mobs, and the mobs are preying on honest citizens. R’ Chanina was very wise, and very far-sighted.

Dueling Stats: CDC vs. FBI

When you have two government agencies generating conflicting data, which do you believe disbelieve less?

I ran across this story today:

CDC: Firearm-Related Homicides Surged During Obama’s Last 2 Years in Office
According to the CDC, “the number of firearm-related homicides was relatively stable during 2010–2014,” then firearm-related homicides sharply increased. For example, there were 11,008 firearm-related homicides in 2014 and that number rose to 14,415 in 2016. That is a 31 percent increase.

Sure enough, the CDC’s WISQARS is now reporting 14,415 homicides by firearm. Which struck me as odd, because I’ve been using the figure 11,004 for 2016.

11,004 is exactly what the FBI’s UCR is reporting for 2016; that’s 3,411 fewer firearms-related murders than the CDC retroactively claims.

In fact, the UCR figure for total murders — any weapon — is 15,070, only 655 more than the CDC’s firearm-only murders claim. The CDC claims 19,362 total murders (+4,292 difference).

Oh, and the 2014 numbers for firearms-related homicides?

CDC 2014: 11,008

UCR 2014: 8,124 (A difference of 2,884 murders.)

Odd.

The agencies use different sources for their data. The UCR is based on police incident reports. WISQARS comes from incident coding in medical reports. One or the other — or both — could be wrong. But clearly both need some quality assurance checking to see if either come close to reality.

I’d love to do a little research into the discrepancy myself, but as an unpaid volunteer, it’s beyond my means. If you’d like to see me dig into this, consider contributing a little to the cause.

ETA, 8//2018: Gee, how ’bout that?

CDC Finally Corrects Bad Data On Number of Firearm Deaths
However, in 2017, John Lott found a discrepancy. He noted that due to an error in Tennessee’s data, the total count was about 100 higher than it should have been. He notified the CDC and they acknowledged the mistake.

It just took them a year to finally fix it.

Tolerance

Tolerance-According to Merriam-Webster:

(2) :relative capacity of an organism to grow or thrive when subjected to an unfavorable environmental factor

b :the maximum amount of a pesticide residue that may lawfully remain on or in food

Ok, that last one kind of made my eyebrows go up a bit.

There’s tolerances involved in all sorts of things. Sewing, you can be off by like a ¼ of an inch sometimes, gapping spark plugs, there is a set gap, it can be off a little, reloading bullets, ok, so I don’t actually know how to do this, but I’m guessing there is a tiny bit of play. But a lot of things involve a certain amount of give. There is tolerance in how long my horses will stand to have cockleburrs picked out of their manes and tails, this can be influenced with horse cookies, so things can have an effect on the amount of tolerance given or acceptable. There is tolerance in activity, running, reading, tail brushing, for example. Today I was listening to a radio show in the morning. They were talking about the NFL, the national losers and their behavior. The caller thought that since the left seems to be determined to destroy anything in this country with the least bit of masculinity to it, maybe people should just wait for the kneeing phase to blow over as if they were a bunch of spoiled 3 year olds acting out….which, well. Yeah. But the host made his point, the NFL, as a manly sport is gone. The owners by not keeping things professional have allowed it to basically die as the beloved American sport where kids could look up to the felon players. And that the previous things known as “football fans” tended to be pro-America, pro-Military, pro-Law enforcement and they are tired of antifa, tired of rioting, tired of being told to just ride it out, it will get better because it isn’t and this anti-American unprofessional crap is getting on their very last nerve and they are tired of being “tolerant” and fighting by Marquess of Queensberry rules and losing because the left never does fight by the rules, anyone’s. The right has tried to be the grown-ups and be tolerant of other lifestyle choices, beliefs and everything else and they’ve had it. Yep, I hear that.

Then driving home tonight, I was listening to Joe Pags, I like him. He was talking about the security guard from the Mandalay Bay. Actually he was probably more like a parking valet because he was unarmed. An unarmed “security guard”. Huh. Nope, a parking valet that doubles as a walk around bell boy, or regular valet. After the “incident” a few pictures of Jesus Campos made it onto the internet, the heroic security guard. And then he went missing. He was suppose to be on Sean Hannity, and had some other interviews lined up. And he supposedly went to a walk in clinic and then more or less vanished after having canceled all his interviews. Huh. He has since reappeared on The Ellen DeGeneres show. Huh. Well, I suppose it’s a logical choice. Ellen is known for her hard hitting, in depth investigative journalism. Oops, sorry, no, I was thinking of Sharyl Attkisson. So in addition to the baffling choice of venues for his one and only interview, it appears Jesus has been doing some stress eating. So the things Joe was pointing out were pretty interesting. After Jesus went missing, a reporter, Laura Loomer decided after finding that Jesus’s name had been scrubbed from the Mandalay employee list to pay a visit to his house. Which is being guarded by an armed guard working for a security company with a “virtual” address and a business license that expired in January of this year. Huh. Something else Joe pointed out, from the pictures of the guy that were posted on the net right after it happened it appears that Jesus has gained about 70 pounds, in two weeks. It seems that most of his answers on the Ellen show were very well rehearsed. No word if he was auditioning for Harvey Weinstein.

Now I’m a reasonably tolerant person, I think. In my job, I try hard to be nice and kind and helpful to my co-workers and to people I need to interact with. Really, I do. However, I have what is known as a low, and it’s getting lower all the dang time, B.S. tolerance. I will try very hard to be a team player, but, do.not.mess.with.me. It makes me cranky.

And as I’m listening to Joe, and thinking we’re on like the 3rd or 4th timeline now of how and when things happened, the B.S.-O-Meter pegged out.

You have a lot of people that were killed, more wounded, theories abounding, immediate calls for more restrictions on the Second Amendment, cases made for gun confiscation, faux Second Amendment groups joining in the chorus for infringement like a bunch of demented Stockholm syndrome victims and the actual knowledge of what really happened and what this was really about is pretty dang thin. I mean, these fools want to bring our country to a point where only the government has guns, or at least regular American Citizens are only allowed a registered .22 single shot if they can prove need, keep it locked up and can only buy one box of registered ammunition every other month.

So I thought a short walk down memory lane might be in order. In Chronological order.

Wounded Knee-December 29, 1890.

Republican President Benjamin Harrison

December 28, 1890 a detachment of the U.S. 7th Cavalry Regiment commanded by Major Samuel M. Whitside intercepted Spotted Elk’s band of Miniconjou Lakota and 38 Hunkpapa Lakota near Porcupine Butte and escorted them 5 miles westward to Wounded Knee Creek, where they made camp. The remainder of the 7th Cavalry Regiment, led by Colonel James W. Forsyth, arrived and surrounded the encampment. The regiment was supported by a battery of four Hotchkiss mountain guns.

On the morning of December 29, the U.S. Cavalry troops went into the camp to disarm the Lakota. One version of events claims that during the process of disarming the Lakota, a deaf tribesman named Black Coyote was reluctant to give up his rifle, claiming he had paid a lot for it. Simultaneously, an old man was performing a ritual called the Ghost Dance. Black Coyote’s rifle went off at that point, and the U.S. army began shooting at the Native Americans. The disarmed Lakota warriors did their best to fight back.

Wounded Knee, the aftermath

But this is far from the only massacre of unarmed Indians by the government.

The US Army killed about 250 Shoshone during the Bear River Massacre in southeastern Idaho in 1863. As recently discussed in Smithsonian, “200 soldiers under Colonel Patrick Connor’s command killed 250 or more Shoshone, including at least ninety women, children, and infants. The Shoshone were shot, stabbed, and battered to death. Some were driven into the icy river to drown or freeze.”

In eastern Colorado in 1864, the Sand Creek Massacre occurred. There, US soldiers attacked peaceful, unarmed Cheyenne and Arapaho Indians “with carbines and cannon, killing at least 150 Indians, most of them women, children and the elderly. Before departing, the troops burned the village and mutilated the dead, carrying off body parts as trophies.”

In 1870, the US Army accidentally killed the “wrong” group of Indians, in the Baker or Marias Massacre. In north-central Montana, along the Marias River, Major Eugene Baker ordered his soldiers to attack a village of peaceful Blackfeet. When informed by a subordinate that this group was not the one the troops were looking for, Baker responded, “That makes no difference, one band or another of them; they are all Piegans [Blackfeet] and we will attack them.” About 175 unarmed Blackfeet were murdered, the great majority children and women.

I can’t find any photos of what the press said about the massacre at Wounded Knee, how they explained or presented it. I did however find a line in an editorial of the Aberdeen Saturday Pioneer,

“The Pioneer has before declared that our only safety depends upon the total extermination of the Indians. Having wronged them for centuries, we had better, in order to protect our civilizations, follow it up by one more wrong and wipe these untamed and untamable creatures from the face of the earth.”~~L. Frank Baum

L. Frank Baum was the author of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Wow, so along with yellow brick roads and flying monkeys L. Frank was totally cool with some genocide. But, at least as a member of the press, he covered the massacre fairly and explained why it was totally necessary. /ticked off sarcasm.

Ruby Ridge August 21, 1992. And from Wikipedia.

Demoncrat President Bill Clinton, Attorney General Janet Reno

So the Sheila synopsis of this is the government wanted Randy Weaver to do some informant work for them. He declined, they wanted him to do a bit of gunsmithing. He declined initially and finally gave in. Yeah, I’m leaving out tons, but there’s a link above. But the circumstances lead to a stand-off between the jackboots and the Weavers and a family friend. The brave ATF, US Marshals Service, and the FBI found it necessary to shoot an unarmed dog, a 14 year old boy in the back and an especially brave FBI HOSTAGE RESCUE TEAM sniper named Lon Horiuchi scored a major victory when he shot 43 year old Vicky Weaver in the head as she stood at the back door of the cabin holding her baby. I don’t think that the FBI has a good grasp on what HOSTAGE RESCUE means. Cause that sure as hell isn’t it. The Boundary County, Idaho, prosecutor indicted sniper Lon Horiuchi for manslaughter in 1997. Both the Weaver family and Harris brought civil suits against the government over the events of the firefight and siege, the Weavers winning a combined out-of-court settlement in August 1995 for $3.1 million, and Harris being awarded, after persistent appeals, a $380,000 settlement in September 2000.

And this is how the media reported what was happening at the time.

Waco Texas, April 19, 1993 The Davidian Massacre

Demoncrat President Bill Clinton, Attorney General Janet Reno

If they wanted to arrest Koresh, why didn’t they just do it when he went into town every morning?

On February 28,1993 overly aggressive and highly militarized agents of BATF set out to put on a “big show” to increase their budgets and prestige by attacking the Branch Davidian religious group outside of Waco, Texas. Six months earlier, agents had spurned David Koresh’s attempts to cooperate with their investigation of his gun business by inviting them to see his guns. On February 28, when he came to the front door and tried to cooperate, reckless agents shot him and mortally wounded his father-in-law. Other agents started shooting from helicopters, killing four Davidians. Agents probably assassinated another Davidian who approached Mount Carmel later that day. And so began a 51 day standoff.

So apparently Clinton, Reno and Congress saw no need for a overhaul of how to handle, or not escalate situations in the year since Ruby Ridge.

Now we’ll just move up to more recent history.

Does anyone remember a couple years ago the country seemed to have a spate of outlaw ranchers that the DOJ, BLM and a host of federal alphabet soup felt the immediate need to bring to heel?

Bundy Ranch April 5, 2015

Demoncratic President Barry Sotero aka Barak Obama (so does anyone know, did he finally ever legally get his name changed? Yet?) Attorney General Eric “Gunwalker” Holder

We’ll start with Cliven Bundy. This is actually a good synopsis of the situation at the Bundy ranch in Nevada. The Real Story Behind The Bundy Ranch Harassment

The pared down version is a 67 year old cattle rancher in Nevada has been running cattle on the same land his family has for over a 100 or so years. He is actually the last rancher in Clarke county these days due to the “management” practices of the BLM. The BLM-g* demanded he cut his 900 head herd to 150 head. Well, I don’t suppose a obama headed BLM-g would have any better idea of business than anything else he had anything he touched. Besides, they had to save the desert tortoise. The same desert tortoise the BLM-g was killing. Of course, the BLM-g was also killing Bundy’s cattle. BUT NOT ON PURPOSE!! They screeched! No, they just separated the calves and cows and the calves starved to death. And they “might have had to put down a few of the cows” for humane purposes, no doubt. This time, as opposed to Ruby Ridge and Waco Texas, patriots have been getting a belly full of seeing the government obliterate their neighbors for some reason. And they showed up. And the BLM-g went after them as well. Although in most of the court cases the charges were thrown out.

So why did it happen? Well, short answer is Cliven Bundy and his family were not big Harry Reid donors. Read the above link, a big donor wants the land, and Harry got him made head of the BLM-g. Another possible use, but someone else wants the land.

People were attacked at this government siege, but no one died. A pregnant woman had attack dogs set on her, Ammon Bundy was tasered twice, many of the Bundy’s cattle were killed and stolen by the BLM-g, but no one died. First Amendment zones were set up, which were the only places citizens were allowed to film and were located far enough away no one could film what the BLM-g was doing. The Governor of Nevada was not happy about that, but well. And those attacks I mentioned? They occurred on public lands. The public was attacked on public lands by the BLM-g and their law-enforcement cronies. That being said, the local sheriff and his deputies refused to take part in attacking citizens or stealing cattle. But, no one died.

The Hammond Ranch January 4, 2016

Demoncratic President Sotero? Obama? Fluffernutter? Attorney General Loretta “Tarmac” Lynch

Well, this one just makes my head hurt. Basically the Hammonds like the Bundys, are the last Ranchers in the area. They own a chunk of land in the middle of an area where the BLM-g have managed to run out all the other ranchers. For those that don’t know this, it’s common to burn off a pasture from time to time. It gets rid of growth you don’t want and your crops or grass will come back better and stronger, with fewer weeds. It also keeps the undergrowth and trees burned off. So when something like a lightening strike hits you won’t have the massive fires like what we are seeing in California right now. And that’s partly why we’re seeing them in California. Because of “environmentalists” people aren’t allowing people to keep things burned off and clean, so when you get a fire, you get a doozey. So in the course of burning off some fields, the fire jumped onto BLM-g land that the Hammonds were leasing. This happened a couple of times, a total of 140 or so acres were affected. The 73 year old Dwight and his son Steven were sentenced under a terrorism act. I’ve read enough to know that the BLM-g have also set fires, including back burn like what the Hammonds set in one instance to try to stop a fire started from a lightening strike burning even more. And the BLM-g fire has gotten out of control and cause large amounts of damage and no charges were ever brought in those cases. A judge reduced their sentence from five years to a few months for both of them, stating he didn’t think the anti-terrorism statute they were sentenced under applied. They served their time. And then the government decided they hadn’t served enough, and so the case went back to the 9th Circuit and the 9th Circus judge said the Hammonds had to serve the whole thing. No BLM-g ever served time for causing far more damage.

People showed up to the party. The Malheuer Wildlife Refuge was taken over.

This is some good background on the area.

Full Story About What’s Going on In Oregon – “Militia” Take Over Malheur National Wildlife Refuge In Protest to Hammond Family Persecution…

Two members of Oregon’s Hammond family to serve time in prison after burning 140 acres of BLM land

But in this stand-off, someone did die. LaVoy Fincum. While the press often portrayed the protesters and wild eye lunatics, this article is a bit more sympathetic to Mr. Fincum. His death still raises many questions as some people feel he was basically shot in cold blood as he had his hands up.

This BLM-g seizure of ranch land is going on all around the country now. These grazing fees they talk about are not piddling little fees, and if the BLM-g wants your land, they raise them to unaffordable.

But the press does not side with the citizen if there is a Demoncrat President at the time. No word on how they would side if it were a Republican President in office.

There has also been speculation that there is uranium on the ranches and that the BLM-g wants to gain control of the mineral resources on the ranches. Here’s a hint, think about Mrs. Pantsuits. And since all the other ranchers have been run off from the surrounding ranches, the holdouts must go.

These are unelected government agencies that are ruining lives, and seizing control of valuable farming and ranch land. Where is the recourse?

And so now we have Las Vegas, a myriad of questions and few answers coming from the government. Many are dead, or wounded and the predictable full throated cries for more gun control, gun confiscation and no one even asks “And if there had been other assailants in the crowd you don’t think having some concealed carry holders in the audience would have saved lives?” Nope, just demands to take rights from people that have committed no crimes. And this little walk down memory lane is by no means exhaustive. How the media explained and portrayed it to the public seldom told what was really happening. So excuse me please if I choose to “cling” to my gun and my Tanakh/Bible a little bit closer right now….these sorts of situations tend to bring that out in me. Because right now?

*BLM-g is Bureau of Land Management as opposed to Black Lives Matter. Both are rouge organizations where pain and suffering at the set goals. But this column concerned the “government” version so BLM-g as opposed to BLM-a which is Black Lives Matter-“antifa” version.

FBI: Oooops! Background check FAIL! Must be a “loophole”

Unlike many Zelman Partisans, my writing tends to be sarcastic, caustic, and somewhat snarky. While my beautiful colleagues write about Israel and Jewishness,  and principles, I tend to speak on subjects that either ruffle my feathers, or are so absurd, one is left shaking one’s head in disbelief at the FAIL.

Such is the FBI’s admission last week that the slaughter at a traditionally black church in South Carolina by a racist, psychotic piece of sub-human detritus (I refuse to use his name and give him publicity). It’s snortworthy for two reasons:

  1. The scumbag shouldn’t have been able to purchase a gun in the first place, but thanks to a lapse in the FBI’s background checks system, he had no problem legally buying one.
  2. The gun grabbers are calling the problem a “loophole.”

Let’s ignore for a moment the fact that no background check would have stopped the cretinous racist from buying a weapon. If he was denied a purchase due to a failed background check, there are numerous black market ways for this schmuck to score a firearm. Even the government admits that the vast majority of guns used in crimes are purchased on the black market/from a street dealer, stolen, or “borrowed” from friends and family. Anyone who claims otherwise needs a quick lesson in economics and history.

Let’s also ignore the fact that forcing an individual to undergo a background check for a constitutionally-protected purchase is a slap in the face to freedom.

Let’s focus on the fact that the liars at Everytown for Gun Safety Confiscation immediately sprang into action by claiming that an  NRA-backed loophole was responsible for the trash being able to get his paws on a firearm – a claim directly contradicted by the FBI and reported in that bastion of objective journalism the Washington Post.

The breakdown was a result of errors not only by the FBI but also apparently by local law enforcement, and Comey said he has ordered a 30-day review to examine the procedures that led to the failure and to see if the process can be tightened. The errors came to light as investigators examined a gun purchase Roof made two months before the shooting.

Ooops! Government error? The hell, you say!

government-incompetence-at-work

Of course, facts never stop gun-grabbing liars from promoting their odious agenda. Facts are merely inconvenient little nits to be slapped down and manipulated…

…for the children, of course!

Because, really… how would it look if the gun grabbers’ response to mistakes made by a bumbling bureaucracy that allowed a violent offender to massacre innocent people was to demand… more bumbling bureaucracy?

So in an effort to protect the narrative, “government error” became “NRA-supported loophole,” in which case I demand that the “loophole” which allowed a loon to climb the White House fence and make it all the way to the door while the Secret Service stood idly by and did nothing be immediately closed! Also the “loophole” that allowed the Chinese access to millions of files containing private information of both military and civilian government employees. Yeah… I’ll need that closed too.
