Update: Twitter has blocked @ZelmanPartisans for linking to this post.
Twitter claims this column “celebrates acts of violence.” Shall we list those “acts of violence” I “celebrated”?
He was a lifeguard.
He volunteered to clean graffiti.
He was asked to watch over shops.
He rendered 1st aid to rioters.
He helped put out a fire.
He ran from attackers.
I’ve had two questions about the beginning of the entire incident. The major question was, “What initiated the first chase and attack that led to Pedo Boy‘s shooting?”
But I also wondered about the fire extinguisher Kyle had when this started. I’ll admit, I had some serious concerns about that. One Kenosha man did spray rioters with an extinguisher in a nonlethal attempt to defend the Danish Brotherhood Lodge. I feared Kyle might have done something similar.
“Kyle apparently ran up at the gas station and provided a fire extinguisher that put out Pedo Boy’s dumpster fire that he was pushing into the gas station … It pissed pedo boy off and they attempted to ambush and set the kid on fire to teach him a lesson…”
Kyle started his day working a shift as a lifeguard. Then he volunteered to clean up the rioters’ messes. Next, he was asked to help keep watch over some shops. When the police finally started dispersing the mob, he rendered first aid to some of the injured thugs.
And then he helped put out a literal dumpster fire — and preventing the arson of a gas station — earning the ire of the disappointed mob. The goons should have been glad; a gas station fire could very well have taken them out.
He potentially saved their lives, and they showed their gratitude by trying to kill him, and forced him to make a choice no seventeen year-old should need to face.
There is a “We The People” petition to ask Trump to award Kyle with a Medal of Freedom. Please sign it.
The Zelman Partisans have offered Kyle an honorary membership for all of his actions that day. It may take some time for the offer and reply to be relayed through his attorney. Even if he chooses not to accept, we will still see as one of us in spirit, if not name.
If you’d like to contribute to Kyle’s legal defense fund, it’s HERE or HERE (scroll down).
Update: On 9/11/2020, at 2:09AM, Twitter suspended me for linking to this column, calling it “glorifying violence.” Noting that he performed good civic services, and acted in self defense only after he was unable to escape is “glorifying violence.” Noting that he exercised remarkable restraint is “glorifying violence.”
I have appealed the suspension. If they do not reverse their judgement, the suspension will amount to a ban, because I will not comply with Twitter’s censorious demand.
This case is driving the media nuts. They can’t demonize this kid. Apparently he’s squeaky clean. He was a police cadet.
They can’t mourn the loss of treasured lives. He shot a pedophile and a couple of other felons (one unlawfully in possession of a gun himself*).
They can’t paint Rittenhouse as the aggressor with multiple videos showing them attacking him. Someone else fired the first shot.
Stand Your Ground/Duty To Retreat? He tried. The attackers kept chasing him.
Evil “high capacity” magazines? This exactly why you need standard capacity: multiple attackers.
Endanger innocent bystanders? Show me the report of a single case of collateral damage. It seems every round he fired hit a valid defensive shooting target.
About the only thing anyone can really critique is, “Why was he there at all?” Question answered:
After he got off work as a lifeguard at a Kenosha pool, he volunteered to do civic service.
He started by cleaning graffiti off a school.
Then he moved to clean up at local businesses.
Equipped with a first aid kit, he patrolled and gave assistance to at least one injured rioter.
After a long day of public service and cleaning graffiti and debris, he finished up by taking out the trash.
As I said, the media apparently can’t find dirt on the kid. They may even fear to look too hard lest they discover that in his spare time he runs an abused animal rescue program and teaches disabled kids to read.
Added: If you’d like to contribute to Kyle’s legal defense fund, it’s HERE.
* Yes, Rittenhouse is charged with unlawfully possessing a firearm as a minor, but I’ve seen more than one attorney noting that Wisconsin has some exceptions that might apply in his case. I’ll wait and see.

Go even further back, if this is all about the re-unification of Jerusalem in 1967 or the state of Israel in 1948, then why the Hevron massacre of 1929? The Haganah showed up in Hevron and told the residents they had knowledge that there would be an attack. Amin al-Husseini, the Mufti of Jerusalem, and good buddy of Hitler was inciting the riots. The citizens of Hevron turned down the protection protesting that they had lived in peace with their Arab neighbors for centuries. True, they had. However, that had been without incitement. They were afraid if the Haganah showed up it would “inflame” the situation and make it worse. Well, we know how that turned out. The British, who had control neither intervened to stop it, and in some cases, assisted the arabs in the slaughter.
Some things don’t change. Or over time, they change and begin to look like they have in the past. Some of that could have been written today. Left wing mayors saying they won’t take help from the federal government to stop peaceful rioters from destroying businesses, hopes, dreams and lives of taxpaying citizens. But they do want the federal dollars. As it’s been said many times, we are our own first responders. I believe that one to be more true than “You don’t need a gun, you can just call the police” which has also been said many times. Mostly by the people trying to disarm U.S. and also defund the police.
As we watch our country being ripped by Marxists products of the massive amount of liberals in the public education system and lack of actual teachers some things are becoming painfully apparent. You can’t always call the police. In some of my other columns recently I linked stories of a terrified driver with her child who was being stopped by peaceful rioters and called 9-1-1 only to be told it was a city sanctioned event and the police wouldn’t respond and she could complain to the city council. Another woman drove through the peaceful rioters who were outraged. They felt entitled to take over the streets and disrupt the lives and traffic patterns of law abiding citizens.
What is also becoming clear is that the law-enforcement that was meant to be the main institution of maintaining order and keeping a civil society civil is becoming unable to do so. They are under attack, often physically, from the peaceful rioters and leftist politicians who, more often than not, side with the peaceful rioters rather than the law-abiding citizens who pay the taxes, own the businesses and are just trying to go about their lives. They often leave their own officers out to dry as well. Those that support the police may well be abandoned by the very police they are trying to help. Recently Michelle Malkin and others at a Back The Blue rally were attacked by the peaceful rioters from antifa and black lives matter in Denver. And I mean physically attacked. The police were present, and they immediately did…..nothing. They were under a stand down order from Police Chief Pazen. Just like in 2016 when conservatives were often attacked physically during rallies and prayer meetings and the leftist police chiefs told officers to stand down and let it happen. And being “Good Germans” they allowed law-abiding citizens to be attacked and beaten by mobs.
Kelly also spoke about the current New York policy requiring officers to stand down as a de-escalation measure, a policy with which he disagrees. He noted that the anti-crime units which the city once had were effective in reducing crime. Now, he says, more people are willing to challenge the police, which puts the most vulnerable faith group, the Jewish community, at high risk.
But as Yuri talked about in his video the left does eat their own useful idiots. And some of these people are seeing that happen. The McCloskey case in St. Louis is an example, the peaceful rioters who broke into their neighborhood and threatened them and their dog were attempting to find Demoncratic Mayor Lyda Krewson’s home so they could threaten her into resigning. Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best has been in the unenviable position of being Seattle’s Police Chief. And they have a liberal mayor and city council who have decided social justice is more important to them than law abiding tax payers. Chief Best sent this letter to residents.
Please also know that the City Council Ordinance 119805 Crowd Control Tool goes into effect this weekend on Sunday, July 26, 2020. This ordinance bans Seattle Police officers the use of less lethal tools, including pepper spray that is commonly used to disperse crowds that have turned violent. Simply put, the legislation gives officers NO ability to safely intercede to preserve property in the midst of a large, violent crowd.
It is important to bring to your attention that yesterday, I sent the City Council a letter ensuring them that as the Chief of Police, I have done my due diligence of informing them numerous times of the foreseeable impact of this ordinance on upcoming events. The letter is attached for your reference.
For these reasons, Seattle Police will have an adjusted deployment in response to any demonstrations this weekend – as I will never ask our officers to risk their personal safety to protect property without the tools to do so in a safe way.
It is becoming quite clear that there is a developing void and law-abiding citizens are being left out to dry.
And so citizens have been stepping into that void. It was armed citizens, her neighbors, that stopped antifa and blm from showing up at Chief Best’s house. This seems to be their newest tactic. Show up at politician and now officer’s homes.
Protestors on their way to harass the Seattle police chief @carmenbest at her home, encountered locals who were not in the mood to host protests in their neighborhood.
Protestor: “We are peaceful! You pointed a gun at my face!”
I thought the plaintive “ We are looking for a friend” was a bit over the top. Sure, a group of thugs goes hunting for the Police Chief’s house. I’m sure they are all besties.
I’d debate the “potential” as they had already defaced the Alamo Cenotaph.
One thing that kind of stands out is in many of these type of stories the media breathlessly (it seems to me) chronicles that the people that don’t want their town destroyed are white and they describe their clothing as if they are longing to be fashion reporters. Fashion reporters that have never been around military much and don’t really think too much of them.
So why do they need to be armed you ask? Portland: Women Defending Police Precinct Attacked by Antifa Terrorists Because two frail little old ladies, one of them on a walker attempted to stop the peaceful rioters from defacing the police precinct and one attempted to put out a fire that the rioters had started next to the building. They were both attacked and threatened. That’s what it looks like in a society where the weaker have no one to protect them, and the rule of law.
During an interview with Yahoo News, a sports journalist asked Drew Brees his opinion on football players kneeling during the National Anthem. Brees declared love and support for teammates and their fight for racial equality and justice. However, he could never agree with anyone “disrespecting” the flag during the National Anthem. He cited the heroic World War II records of his grandfathers and pays homage to them during the Anthem. Who could find fault with that? Nevertheless, following the interview, Brees’ black teammates and black professional athletes in other sports attacked and savaged him. They called him ignorant, a racist, and next the profanity and threats flew. Brees, an openly devout Christian, then apologized for his insensitive remarks in defense of patriotism and America. He apologized to teammates, the city of New Orleans, the NFL, and the black community at large. Brees rejected President Trump’s support when he came to the QBs defense. Brees now claims it is not about the flag afterall.1
Legos is pulling its police station and related game sets from the market as if policemen and women who protect and defend the weak, vulnerable, and defenseless are now evil and unacceptable. Taboo. A&E is pulling its most popular television show, Live PD, from the airwaves again, as if anything to do with the police is dirty, filthy, intolerably offensive. This they do in solidarity with an extremist group promoting assassination of police officers, riots and looting, anarchy, overturning Western Society and its Judeo-Christian foundations. This group is Black Lives Matter (BLM). Legos, A&E, and many other corporations are choosing sides against the folks behind the badge who willingly lay their lives on the line every day for their fellow Americans.
Where are the corporate chieftains, business leaders, elected officials, pastors, priests, rabbis, school boards, principals, teachers, and sports figures willing to stand for the truth? What is that truth? Contrary to what BLM claims on its webpage, the white race is not engaged in a war of genocide, with the police its instrument of execution, to exterminate the black race. This is what they preach and believe. Who is pointing this out?
What are you saying Drew, police officers, who never ask what the job pays or count the risks, but only how to protect Americans from the ravenous wolves that prey on them, are the bad guys? Men and women who, instead of being home with their families for birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, who work long hours, weekends, nights, in the heat, cold, rain, and snow, with little sleep and no food to make streets safe for you deserve no respect? That our brothers and sisters killed in the line of duty, whose names are quickly forgotten or never known, deserve no respect? That our family members who fought in wars and served in the military no longer deserve respect? What have millionaires like you done in comparison to make America a better and safer place, throw a piece of leather to other millionaires on Sundays? Think of the little kids who wear your jersey and hang your poster on their bedroom walls. You are telling them to side with those who spit on the flag and the men and women who sacrifice so much to keep their little lives safe.
Today, now more than ever, leaders like you should be standing up for America but instead abdicate that responsibility. Is it because you have too much to lose, fame, fortune, and career? Or, do you hope someone else will take your place sparing you from putting it on the line? When you count the cost and say no, you abandon us behind enemy lines. When you surrender without a fight, the time comes when there is nothing left for which to fight.
Black as well as white have died for the flag. In apologizing for your patriotism, you surrender that flag to those who hate all for which it stands. Once you kneel before its enemies, as you have, that is where they will keep you. You must continue kneeling to prove you are not a racist but no proof will ever be enough. Do you believe they respect you for turning your back on devoutly held beliefs? In capitulating, you have lost your dignity, respect, and moral authority to speak for the truth. Kids long for adults who are men and women of character possessing the strength of their convictions. Adults who never waver regardless of how sharp the arrows fired at them. You cannot get back what you surrender.
Yes, there is a price for standing your ground. We average Americans who stand up for the truth pay it every day in our work and in our lives. This country is worth it. How sad, in spite of all the blessings playing in the NFL, for you this nation does not merit the same affection. The choices we make when those choices are difficult define who and what we are. You have made your choice.
Israeli Independence Day! The following is a 10 minute film from the Israeli archives. It’s film shot in 1948 and I get such a feeling of awe, of gratitude. How could such a small band of poorly equipped people, many with no military training have over come the massive amount of arabs that came against them along with the British who sided with the arabs.Only the hand of G-d making good on his word!
In case you don’t know it, the best movie Kirk Douglas ever made was about Mickey Marcus! Cast A Giant Shadow
You could also read or listen to the The Hope, Herman Wouk’s epic novel. I owe our President Brad for insisting I would love The Hope and The Glory. I adore them, it’s like stepping back in time.
The people were so grateful to again be in their homeland, to again have a state of their own. The price for the land was fearful, blood, sweat, tears, lives and sorrow. From the holocaust to today the price continues, from nazis to hezbollocks.
I think that’s what makes me so sad when I hear the left wing try to tear down Israel, the one tiny Jewish nation all the while claiming they are not anti-semitic. I’ve heard left wing Jews say things I would have thought came out of the mouth of Ilhan Omar or Rashida Tliar and I can not even begin to understand that. Such an amazing gift given by G-d, fought for so desperately by those men, women and children who first came home and to see their sacrifice regarded so blithely is painful for me. For the record, I have the same feelings when people speak that way about America. Neither state is perfect, but both were established based on the law of G-d, Judeo-Christian principles. Therefore I feel far superior to the other choices.
These are a couple of radio interviews from the Tamar Yonah show on Israel newstalk radio. The first is interviews with people who were teenagers and fought during the war of independence. It’s an old interview, but still so very good.
The second is an interview with a man named Amnon Sharon who was an Israeli POW held by the Syrians. Tamar also talks about some other more modern heroes.
If those people who choose not to accept the word of G-d ever wonder these days, if the Jews really need their own state, a land of their own they need only look at the mayor Warren Wilhelm Jr of NYC twitter feed.
DeBlasio’s threat
I re-posted and asked if he had offered to build a nice high wall around part of the city for them, because you know, safety.
Not that such an order will have consequences.
DeBlasio’s results
You Jews had your chance, right.
Yes, and we took it on the 5th of Iyar 1948 in the State of Israel. She was fought for, she is loved and she lives.
I will leave you with a short video from Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks from Israel, Home of Hope
Jackson, Mississippi MayorKingChokwe Antar Lumumba posted videos on YouTube announcing an executive order “suspending” the state open carry law, in violation of Mississippi Code § 45-9-51, the state firearms preemption law.
Amusingly — in a morbid way — the first video cited as his “authority” a nonexistent code: § 45-7-17. That video was deleted after ridicule and questions. Fortunately, I saved a copy. It was replaced with a second video (also saved) with almost the same script, save that he omitted the spoken reference to the fake code, and included a screenshot of § 45-17-7, which does not give any such magical power.
The King declined to respond to questions about the order. Nor does the order yet appear on the city web site.
Only after the story was reported by The Truth About Guns, and was the subject of many social media posts, did any local news outlet pick it up. WJTV simply reported it unquestioningly as a good thing. But they did have a copy of the order.
Note that while the King’s video cites § 45-17-7, the actual order cites no authority for this whatsoever. He did it because he believes he’s all-powerful. One might wonder what other laws he’ll decide to unilaterally “suspend” indefinitely. Concealed carry? Firearm ownership? The Second Amendment? The entire Bill of Rights?
Cities can’t usurp the authority of the State’s elected Legislature and violate the Constitutional rights of the people. I support the 2nd Amendment and will enforce the laws of this State.
Loonumba is an oathbreaking, dictatorial scumbag with no respect for the law, the US Constitution, or the Mississippi Constitution. I suspect people are already preparing lawsuits in reaction to this unlawful order. This will very likely cost the taxpayers of Jackson a pretty penny. Normally, I’d disapprove of the people suffering for the misdeeds of the government, but apparently those citizens elected their king by a 93% supermajority. They’re getting just what they deserve.
March set a new record. Not monthly record; highest monthly total ever. Eyeballing it, it appears the previous record was 3,314,594 in December 2015; March beat that by 12.9%. Bear in mind, that’s even with jurisdictions attempting to close gun stores to stop sales.
No, that wasn’t “superowners” panic-buying guns. We prepped years ago. A lot of that was first time buyers; maybe hundreds of thousands.
Nor was it all purchases. NICS covers carry license background checks, too. So figure many, many new carriers.
Whatever it was, the next time you hear a violence-enabling victim disarmer claim that 90% of Americans want bans, red flag orders, licensing, or Johnson’s people control kitchen sink of a bill, remember: In one month, 3,740,688 people disagreed.

As many as 6,000 flu victims dead vs. 4,262 for COVID-19.
6,000,000 new flu cases vs. 200,000 COVID-19.
Flu? Business as usual.
COVID-19? The sky is falling! The lion is sleeping with the lamb! ITEOTWAWKI!
We must destroy the Constitution to save the villagecountry from the flu… I mean, COVID-19. Starting with the Second Amendment. After all, you can’t shoot a virus… Never mind that no one but violence-enabling victim disarmers have suggested such a thing, as a strawman argument against people being armed to defend themselves.
I wonder why de Blasio didn’t mention mosques in his threat against churches and synagogues.
But these rapes of basic freedoms are all good and necessary because tens of millions have sickened and tens of thousands have died… Oops, that was flu; we don’t care about them. Ahem.
But these rapes of basic freedoms are all good and necessary because a couple hundred thousand of people got COVID-19, and a few thousand have died! That’s what matters.
I can’t help but wonder what impact this COVID-induced economic shutdown will have, long term, on American livelihood and lives. So let me end on a humorous note. Humor is one of humans’ best ways of dealing with stress.

So this is late, by more than a week late. But LIFE is intruding on my life right now, so while this column is late, it is no less sincere or grateful. The reason it’s more than a week late is that #ShukranDruze2020 is a week that is meant to coincide with Parshat Yitro, Exodus 18:1-20:23. Yitro (Jethro) was the father in law of Moshe. The man responsible for the organization of courts and administering justice to the new nation of Israel. Jethro of Midian is considered an ancestor of Druze, who revere him as their spiritual founder and chief prophet.
The Druzites form a religious minority in Israel of more than 100,000, mostly residing in the north of the country. In 2004, there were 102,000 Druze living in the country. In 2010, the population of Israeli Druze citizens grew to over 125,000. At the end of 2018, there were 143,000. Most Israeli Druze identify ethnically as Arabs. Today, thousands of Israeli Druze belong to “Druze Zionist” movements.
The Druze are Arabic speaking, their culture is their own, but they are not considered muslims and have been persecuted (like everyone else) by the muslims. They broke ranks with the mainstream muslim decisions in 1948 and followed their belief that G-d gave the land of Israel to the Jews. Since then they have served along side the Jews in the state of Israel. You can read much more about the Druze here.
In yet another stunning display of failure to carry out apartheid successfully Israeli Druze are members of Israeli society, they vote, they serve in the IDF and much more. According to the web site The Druze Veterans Association
The Druze of Israel are a tiny yet fiercely loyal minority who serve with pride and dignity and have sacrificed 505 of their brethren in the defense of Israel – with over 1,500 wounded. Out of a community of just 120,000 those are huge, unfortunate, and very telling numbers.
In 2014, when Jews were being massacred during their prayers at a synagogue in Jerusalem’s Har Nof neighborhood, it was an off-duty Druze police officer who ran in to stop the terrorist.
When Israel launched Operation Protective Edge in 2014 to curb terrorism from Gaza, a Druze commander led the ground battle.
In 2017, two Israeli police officers were killed while defending tourists on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount. Both officers were Druze.
Israel’s Presidential Military Liaison is Druze.
The commander responsible for cross-border goodwill with Gaza is Druze.
The Surgeon General of the Israel Defense Forces is Druze.
Many other senior leaders in Israel’s security and judiciary infrastructure, past and present, are Druze.
The first responder at the Har Nof Synagogue massacre was a Druze police officer, and he was attacked. More recently the two police officers murdered on the Temple Mount by pieceful falestinians were Druze. While the leadership of Israel paid condolence calls to their families and mourned their loss, crickets came from the arabs. As Michael Cohen of Druze Vets points out the Druze have a religious belief that they are not allowed to kill, or lie and have a similar ethical code. But if they have to fight, they will go first and they will go hard.
Shukran in Arabic means Todah, or Thank you. So what is this Shukran Druze 2020 about? It was, again sorry this is late, a week of thanking the Druze for all the do for the state and citizens of Israel. They are Arabs living peacefully in Israel, as members of the Israeli society helping keep the citizens of Israel safe. They are proof that Israel has a poor grasp of the concept of apartheid. #ShukranDruze2020 and #ApartheidFailIsrael
I fell in love when I was 18. Back then, about 95 years ago, I was dating a guy who from time to time would get together with his brother. They’d gather up a couple shotguns, rifles and handguns and head out to a place in the country to target practice. Being the dutiful girlfriend, I tagged along at first. Till they let me shoot. Then I went because I wanted my turn as well. I was fortunate, they were all for it. Didn’t matter who the gun belonged to, if I wanted to try it, they handed it over. That’s how I came to shoot a Taurus for the first time. I loved how it felt in my hand, I loved how I could shoot it, and the results I got. Taurus, my first love……
That love has stayed true lo these many years. The first handgun I ever bought of my own was a Taurus .357 stainless. A teammate of mine spent a lot of time at a gunshop and when I was trying to make that big step forward of buying my first handgun he acted as a sounding board for me, a matchmaker of sorts. He must have been very good at it, I still have “Maggie”.
As time went by, others came to join her. My favorites were from what was jokingly called “The Vogel Line”. A line of blue (almost black, so dark was the bluing) with pearl grips and gold triggers. The pistols came with the loaded chamber indicator. Sweet guns, they shoot very nicely. Like many women, I’m not immune to pretty in handguns, horses and dogs.
Taurus .38
I began to hear rumors of Taurus standards going downhill a few years ago. But I didn’t believe it, not TAURUS!
Then I got a Taurus TCP, in pink no less. I guess I just felt I really should have a least one pink gun. Especially since the one I found was a sort of pink flamingo pink. Pink flamingo pink and hot pink are the best. I know some women think pink guns for girls are silly. I look at it like this, if a pink gun will encourage a woman to take up shooting and consider carrying for self-defense. Awesome. I already did. I am secure enough in myself that if I want a pink gun, I’ll get it. If I don’t I won’t. I have nothing to prove. But the Taurus TCP was my first bad experience. It came with the lifetime warranty, luckily for me. It’s been to the factory for repair three times for the magazine release. Which is again wonky, but I won’t send it back again. I understand the Taurus warranty now is only for a year.
That lead to me looking for a new carry gun. I got a Taurus Spectrum. It’s a .380 that fits my hand wonderfully. It’s easy to hide, shoots very nice and this one came with a laser already mounted on it. It was brand new in the box. Love……ah.
Until a couple weeks ago. I was at the barn doing chores and a possum came up out of the floor. I didn’t have my shotgun with me, but I did have the Spectrum. I shot the possum and finished chores. My horse is such a hoot. I shot once and he stopped eating, I ran around to the other side to get another shot because it’s a possum, like liberal snowflakes they act like they are dying when they aren’t. I shot again and my horse must have thought, “eh, it’s Mom she’s got this taken care of”, and he went back to eating.
Later that night I cleaned the Spectrum. It has a recoil spring that has been possessed by the spirits of the Demoncratic party. It is dang near impossible to get back in. The end of the spring isn’t tightly coiled like every other recoil spring I’ve ever seen, it’s loose like the rest of the spring. Which means when you try to put the recoil rod back in, the end of the spring crawls out the hole for the recoil rod. To my everlasting embarrassment, I will admit after 30 minutes of trying to put this gun back together my thumb slipped and the recoil spring recoiled itself and launched itself into the hinterlands of my parlour and has not been seen again. And I mean after some serious looking. As in cushions out of the couch, in the potted plants and flashlight looking. Ok, I’ll call Taurus and buy another one.
So the next day coffee at hand, I call Taurus. I finally get a live human on the phone and explain the dilemma. She comments that there is definitely a trick to getting that recoil spring in she’s heard. Yes, they’ll send me another one. When they are back in stock. WHAT?? When will that be? They don’t know, but they do get shipments every month. Will it be in the next month’s shipment? They don’t know. Basically they have no clue when recoil springs will be available.
I took the slide, barrel and recoil rod to the hardware store and bought three possible springs to try, since launching a spring in the store didn’t appeal to me. The best choice spring managed to fire two rounds before it wouldn’t fully load cartridge number 3 in the chamber. So, no success on replacement from the hardware store yet. I may try again though next time I can get up that way to shop.
But here’s my thoughts. I’m blessed, I have other guns I can carry. But what about the poor single woman, maybe a single Mom with kids that only has one carry gun and it’s a Taurus Spectrum. Now she is left defenseless because a gun marketed for concealed carry is an expensive paperweight. Great contours, but still, a paperweight for an indefinite amount of time. This is something I actually think is irresponsible. You know the gun is a P.I.T.A. to put back together. You say there’s a “trick” to reassembling it? How’s about you do what you used to do? Make great guns that don’t require a “trick” to reassemble? Second, parts? You are selling a concealed carry gun for which required parts are not available? It’s not like I wanted green grips, it won’t shoot without the dang spring.
When the nice lady told me “no clue” on the spring, the second thing that went through my mind was “Oh, so this is what it’s like when the government starts to control the gun parts that can come into the country. You may have the gun, but it can be rendered useless in about a two second spring launch”.
And that was when I came to the decision it was time to break up. Yes, it’s hard after so many years, but perhaps in time I will find another brand I love as much as I used to love Taurus. But it will take a heck of a gun to win my heart this time around. Just don’t say Glock, while I loved Gunny, I shoot like crap with those. Nor would I be inclined to lock it up under my bed. But that’s just me.
Jews. Guns. No compromise. No surrender.
