Bob Owens analyzes the dispatching of jihadis in Garland, Texas

It’s surprising how few specifics have been released about the shooting of those failed jihadis in Texas. We’re stuck with media accounts of attackers wearing body armor and bearing the standard “assault rifles.” And you know how genius reporters usually are about such things.

But Bob Owens looks at photos of the scene and gives a fascinating analysis.

  1. I find the phrase “unarmed security guard” to be terribly oxymoronic.
I think this incident worked out as well as possible. Too bad their shot hit the unarmed “security guard”, otherwise it would have been perfect.

  3. The article appears to confirm (especially as you go to page two) what I concluded immediately upon seeing the trail of brass. Two guys intent on murder drive up firing rifles at the guard and the cop. The armed cop responds by immediately firing back and CLOSING the distance. When one attacker keeps moving, he finishes him. Very brave.

  4. Next time someone holds a drawing contest (or whatever), I hope they don’t choose a “disarmed victim zone” such as this school.

There would otherwise have been a dozen or more people, willing and able to assist the cop that way. The next lone ranger might not be so fortunate. Yes, he did good and was able to prevail, but he was also very lucky.

This did prove rather graphically that the SWAT boys aren’t likely to arrive in time… unless they are the ones initiating the force.
