Enough Only Mourning

On the morning of 18th November 2014, two POS*i from Jerusalem entered a synagogue, in the Har Nof neighborhood of Jerusalem, Israel, and attacked the praying congregants with axes, knives, and a gun. They killed four worshipers, critically wounded a responding Druze Israeli police officer, who later died of his wounds. They also injured seven male worshipers, one of whom never woke up from a coma and died 11 months later. The two POS were then shot dead by the police.

And all Israel mourned.

In January of 2016 a POS stabbed 38 year old Dafna Meir to death in front of some of her children. Dafna, a small woman worked as a nurse at Soroka Medical Center in my beloved Be’er Sheva. She fought with him to keep him from killing her children. Dafna lived in Otniel, a town in Judea. She feared for those who worked on the emergency squads, usually volunteers.

And, she said, she feared for emergency medical crews from Otniel who rush out to help those who are hurt nearby.

“Maybe there are traps” waiting for the rescue teams, she worries. “It’s frightening! And when they go out, in the first minutes before they arrive, maybe they have time to think, ‘Who will I meet this time? Maybe a neighbor, a friend, a wife?’ That’s the horrible reality.”

As it turns out, the terrorist was employed in Otniel, he just walked right in the front gate. People that had been good to the POS and given him a job, let a terrorist in to kill their neighbor.

And all Israel mourned.

On March 8th, 2016 a POS* from Qalqilya in Samaria stabbed 28 year old Taylor Force in my beloved Yafo, along with several others. Taylor died and several others were seriously wounded. The attack was stopped when the POS was shot and killed by police. In 2016 the US put forth the Taylor Force act, and it was signed into law on 23rd March of this year by President Trump. The law is simple, the Taylor Force Act would cut U.S. funding to the Falestinian Authority until it ends its policy which distributes $300 million to terrorists and their families annually.

From Arutz Sheva

A recent report found that more than half of the PA’s yearly budget goes to terrorists, with more than $1 billion having been dedicated for such purposes in the last four years alone.

Despite pressure to end the policy of paying the families of terrorists who murdered Jews, PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas reportedly told the United States last month that he has no intention of doing so.

“I do not intend to cease paying salaries to the families of prisoners and martyrs, even if it means I lose my position. I will continue paying their salaries until my dying day,” he said.

That can’t come soon enough. That is money that is suppose to be helping the “poor suffering falestinians”, it never has.

Many Israelis expressed their sorrow and condolences to the Force family.

And all Israel mourned.

On the 21st of June 2017 a POS broke into a home in N’vei Tzuf and butchered 3 people. The family had gathered to celebrate Shabbat and the birth of a new grandchild. A neighbor in the IDF was home on leave and shot the terrorist, who did not die. He will now be supported by Israeli taxpayers in an Israeli jail where he can gain weight like Shirley Temper and go to school.

For a list of recent murders and how much the murderer gets paid, you can look here

For a good article on the history of the land ownership, since that is the excuse given.

I do think this group, Otzma Yehudit, are on the right track.

“The only way to curb the ongoing terror threat facing Israel is by creating true deterrence that will convince potential terrorists that they have more to lose than to gain. Therefore, it is necessary to implement the death penalty for convicted terrorists, facilitate the expulsion of their families to Gaza and greenlight home demolitions.”

It was a horrific and bloody attack.

And all Israel mourned.

This is only a tiny fraction of the atrocities. Sunday when I was at work I got a message that Ari Fuld had been killed. Ari Fuld was a lion, yes, that was a play on his name, meaning lion.

Ari moved to Israel in the 90s. He served in the IDF in the Golani Infantry Brigade. He had a miraculous story from his time in the service. He spoke out tirelessly for Israel and the truth. He broadcast live on Facebook during the forced evacuation of Netiv Ha’avot, he debated liberals on ILTV, he had a radio show on Israel Newtalk Radio. Podcasts of Bulletproof available here. He had a YouTube channel, he was involved in Standing Together which supported the IDF soldiers, Ari’s latest project was Cool-A-Chayal providing cooling collars for the soldiers who often worked in 100 degree or more heat. He was active on Facebook, Twitter and MeWe. He was put in Facebook jail a few times, which is when he went to MeWe. I know this, because we talked about it.

I first became aware of Ari when I saw him on ILTV and he literally kicked butt and took names. He just smoked the liberals. I found him on Twitter, read through some of his tweets and sent him a message that he had done a fantastic job, and where I had seen him. Probably one of thousands of messages he got like that. I listened to Ari’s views of ILTV and his YouTube Channel, read him on Twitter and sometimes Facebook, but he was starting his own website in English because Facebook was too censoring. Note how he has to write muslims. Facebook has a real aversion to the truth. And Ari told the truth, bluntly without political correctness, straight up. I tried more than once to get him to join Zehut, his views certainly lined up with ours. In fairness of disclosure I am a card carrying member of Zehut. Zehut actually has a workable win-win plan to deal with the Falestinians in Israel. Where are they going to go? I wish it had been implemented 5 years ago. Or in 1948, or 1929, or. Any of those would have been good with me.

But Ari was famous for his man on the street conversations.

You didn’t get one by on Ari, he knew his facts.

On Sunday 16th of September 2018 Ari went to the market to do some shopping for his wife Miriam. The 45 year old Ari and Miriam had 4 children. He was at a shopping center that had a mix of arab and Israeli shoppers. A 17 year old POS from Yatta had been inspired by Abu Mazen. Abu Mazen’s latest lies. From an article I found on Elder of Ziyon, which originated at The Gatestone Institute,

In a speech before the PLO Executive Committee in Ramallah on September 15, Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas repeated the old libel that Israel was planning to establish special Jewish prayer zones inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Abbas claimed that Israel was seeking to copy the example of the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron, where Jews and Muslims pray in different sections.

Abbas did not say what his lie was based on. He also did not provide any evidence of Israel’s ostensible plot against the Al-Aqsa Mosque. He said, nevertheless, that the Palestinians, together with Jordan, were planning to bring this issue before the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice.

I don’t know of one Jew that wants to go to the Alka Seltzer mollusk. I however, would like to go pray on Har HaBayet, Temple Mount but I can’t because I’m not muslim. How messed up is that? But the Falestinians are so stupid, they keep falling for the lies over and over and go forth to wreck lives based on Abu Mazen’s (sponsor of the Munich massacre) lies.

So the 17 year old POS set out with a knife. He bravely stood behind Ari in line at the shopping center and then stabbed him in the back. Being a brave arab and all, that brings him great acclaim. Hamass openly praises murder of Ari Fuld Apparently what passes for “bravery” in some arab circles has a very low bar.

Haaretz cited a source close to the Jabarin family as saying that the teen informed his parents that he planned to carry out an attack at the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron. He was not found near the tomb, and then carried out the attack near Efrat.

Other sources say the FA says the parents reported nothing.

Ari drew his pistol, gave chase, jumped over a stone wall and with another armed bystander shot the POS who has been taken to an Israeli hospital to be treated at Israeli taxpayer expense. Ari was taken to a hospital as well, where he was pronounced dead.

Woman Says Ari Fuld Shot Terrorist as He Tried to Stab Her

An employee of a West Bank falafel shop said the Palestinian teen who stabbed Ari Fuld was running at her brandishing his knife when Fuld shot him.

…..

She said that after the teen stabbed Fuld, he began running toward her brandishing the knife. Peretz said she started running away from him shouting terrorist.

…..

I started running down the stairs but [Jabarin] jumped to try to get in front of me. The man that was killed really saved my life, she said of Fuld. He s not just a hero. He gave his life for me.

Captured by surveillance cameras, which did nothing to stop the attack, or apprehend POS. Ari is in the blue shirt. Just by the by? The woman he saved is Falestinian.

This good brave decent man is dead because of lies told to arabs, because of a culture that celebrates the death of such good men. A 17 year old POS educated with UNRWA hate filled text books, a culture of hatred and a diet of lies.

Oslo has claimed another victim.

And all Israel mourns.

I mourn, I respected an admired Ari. He fought and didn’t back down, he knew his stuff and worked tirelessly around the world to help Israel, as well as his community and family.

Oh, you will hear on the media that the IDF will destroy the terrorists home. They won’t. They will destroy the terrorists room in the house, and the FA, Falestinian Authority will build a newer nice room, they will pay the POS money for the rest of his life, may it be short and unpleasant.

You know what? Enough. Enough with the mourning. I.AM.TIRED.OF.IT.

I don’t want a terrorist’s room destroyed. I don’t want foundations left, I want a smoking hole in the ground. I don’t want a POS in jail getting chubby and educated by the Israeli taxpayers. I want the death penalty. The POS was shot by Ari and a armed bystander. There shouldn’t be a moderately wounded terrorist. There should be a dead terrorist. I want Israel to lift ammunition restrictions and limits. The citizens need more ammo to practice. Get shot while committing a terrorist act in Israel? You won’t be getting treated in an Israel hospital from now on. The IDF will load you up in a Jeep and drop you off at a FA hospital or the Gaza border. They can treat your sorry self with their state of the art medical expertise. I want the terrorist’s whole family deported to Jordan, Iran, Syria, Iraq, I don’t care where, one of those should work well, and I want it done by next week. Israel was going to pay Uganda to take the illegal immigrants, fine. Pay Uganda 5 grand to take the whole miserable family. But remove them from Israel, follow the Zehut plan, send the family to Saudi Arabia. The terrorist won’t be going cause he’ll be dead because the death penalty will be reinstated. So, no FA money is going to reach anyone. The US has been cutting funding to the FA, and while many claim the money was going to “help” if you read the link about how much Abu Mazen pays the terrorists, I think it’s obvious that wasn’t happening. Gaza? Come on, that war could be finished in a day, if Israel would fight to win. Enough, just enough, too much. How many thousands of acres burned? How many families live in terror of the arabs getting through the security fence? It’s like some weird kind of Stockholm Syndrome or battered spouse mindset. No matter what they do to you, you accept their accusations against you and try to behave differently so they won’t find more fault with you. That isn’t going to happen. Nothing short of annihilation will suit them. “From the river to the sea”.

“All who are merciful to the cruel in the end become cruel to the merciful” (Qohelet Rabbah on 7:16, cf. Midrash Zuta; Tanḥuma, Mezora 1; Yalkut Shimoni, 1 Samuel, 121).

We’re there, we’ve done passed that marker. In the effort to be politically correct, to win the world and the U.N.’s acceptance and approval, or at least less condemnation, there is cruelty to the merciful. In this case Ari’s family. The terrorists really don’t fear what will happen to them, they’ll be in a comfy jail, eating and learning, they or their families will be raking in big bucks, and the FA and Hamass have no reason to change anything. There needs to be a reason to want to make peace and get along.

What laws have changed since the Har Nof massacre until Ari’s murder? None really. This isn’t working. America put forth the Taylor Force act, can Israel please come up with the Ari Fuld act? I’m tired of seeing “All Israel mourned” in the news.

Ari Fuld’s Parents door

A friend from Zehut sent this picture tonight of the front door of the Fuld home, thank you Aryeh.

This was Ari’s last video. It was on the Parsha from last week.

It’s short, as is the Parsha. In it he stops teaching at one point because his daughter is getting ready to go out and he stops to give her a blessing. But the topic is handing over the reins of leadership because Moshe couldn’t continue on with them. Poignant or what? So Ari has done amazing prep work, but now others must pick up the torch and carry on. In doing so, the 17 year old waste of oxygen may have killed his body, but Ari’s spirit and work will live on. I’m angry, I’m very angry. Mourning is not changing anything, it’s not stopping anything, they kill on, undeterred. We need to deter them.

Ari Fuld, HY”D, Hashem yinkom domo, השם ינקום דמו May G-d avenge his blood. And I, I mean every single word of that.

Ghost Stats

I need a little help. I’m attempting to put together data on criminal firearms use. I need data on the criminal use of unlicensed, individually manufactured firearms: i.e.- zip guns, firearms home-built from 80% receivers, 3D-printed firearms, and the like. This would exclude licensed manufacture of firearms whose serial numbers were obliterated.

I’ve spent a couple of days searching for reports, papers, news stories… pretty much anything. I can find no collated data on such use. My usual search-fu has failed me.

I do find news opinion propaganda pieces in which some police officer or other official makes a blanket — yet somehow undocumented — claim that such weapons are turning up at crime scenes more and more often. I want data on that.

What I have found is three reports of firearm, home-built from 80% receivers, used in killings in the past five years (Zawahri, 2013; Bertics, 2015; Neal, 2017). I expected more. (Unsurprisingly, all were in gun-controlled California).

I also found two reports of people making and selling such unserialized firearms… to undercover agents. Again, both cases in California; go figure.

I have not found a single report of a 3D-printed firearm — plastic or metallic — being used in crime. There were four “firearms” reportedly found by TSA in carry-on baggage; one an object that even the TSA referred to only as a “replica,” and three AR lowers, of which at least one resulted in no charges, but was voluntarily abandoned, leading me to suspect it was still an 80%. The report on the other two did not mention charges one way or the other; none of the lowers were pictured.

The lack of 3D-printed firearm in crime doesn’t surprise me, but I expected to see more 80%-based gear, and even the occasional zip gun.

If anyone can point me to collected data on criminal use (mostly use in crime beyond the offense of making/selling, but that, too), I would greatly appreciate it.

Otherwise, I’m going to have to go the FOIA route with the ATF, and that’s going to take money I don’t have (see PayPal link below, if you’d like to help that way). And likely a lot of time. Surely, someone has researched this before.

Judicial Overreach: The Internet Strikes Back

U.S. District Judge Robert Lasnik,in Washington state, issued a temporary injunction against Texas-based DefDist barring them from releasing hobbyist computer code files. Somehow, the ruling by one district judge is allegedly binding on the entire country.

The Internet, thanks to Code Is Free Speech, struck back.

Firearm-Related Speech, Machining Instructions, Codes Published by Civil Rights Organizations, Activists at New CodeIsFreeSpeech.com Website
SACRAMENTO, CA (July 31, 2018) — Tonight, the organizations and individuals behind CodeIsFreeSpeech.com, a new Web site for the publication and sharing of firearm-related speech, including machine code, have issued the following statement:

Our Constitution’s First Amendment secures the right of all people to engage in truthful speech, including by sharing information contained in books, paintings, and files. Indeed, freedom of speech is a bedrock principle of our United States and a cornerstone of our democratic Republic. Through CodeIsFreeSpeech.com, we intend to encourage people to consider new and different aspects of our nation’s marketplace of ideas – even if some government officials disagree with our views or dislike our content – because information is code, code is free speech, and free speech is freedom.

Should any tyrants wish to chill or infringe the rights of the People, we would welcome the opportunity to defend freedom whenever, wherever, and however necessary. Hand-waving and hyperbole are not compelling government interests and censorship is not proper tailoring under the law.

The plaintively-whining pisswit plaintiffs allege no standing. They can present no case of a crime committed with a 3D-printed hobbyist experiment. They don’t explain why lawfully printing a gun is worse than lawfully assembling a zipgun from Lowes-supplied pipe. They do — falsely — claim that such a home-built firearm is “undetectable;” the law has been clear on that for decades: firearms must incorporate a minimum mass of metal to render them detectable by by X-ray and metal detectors. It doesn’t matter if the firearm is machined by a big corporation, screwed together from pipes by a gangbanger, or printed by a law-abiding home hobbyist.

People have been hand-making firearms for nearly a millennium (commercial mass-production of firearms is a relatively new phenomenon), from materials far more appropriate to the pressures and stresses of a firearm than plastic.

Automated additive and subtractive manufacturing has been around for decades.

Plastic has been a structural element of firearms for decades.

Only now, has it become a “problem.” Because now individual have access to the technology. Not just the licensed, regulated, tracked, inspected, harassed commercial builders.

Very few — apparently none — street thugs are going to spend hundreds of dollars on a 3D printer, more on filament, download CAD files, download more software to convert .SLDPRT files to .STL, run the conversion, and spend hours or days printing a large, bulky, poorly concealable .380 with which to rob his drug dealer. Stealing a gun or buying a gun on the black market is faster, cheaper, and gets them more effective tools of crime. That’s not what has the authoritarian goons worried.

They are afraid of the law-abiding people, who are getting a little tired of laws with no discernible relation to the constitution; honest folks who want protection the cops can’t or won’t provide; good people who might bypass the State’s attempt to render them helpless crime targets (as the criminals already do).

The goons fear arms in the hands of citizens who are tired of their shit. They are so afraid of the people that they are trying to preemptively shut down a new technology before it’s even ready to produce effective arms.

That’s OK. I still have pipe, nails, and wood in the garage.

And the country still has the Firearms Policy Coalition, Firearms Policy Foundation, The Calguns Foundation, California Association of Federal Firearms Licensees, Cody Wilson, and hundreds or thousands of people generating and sharing printer files.

Take the 3D AR Challenge!
3D-print a fully-functional, plastic AR-15, and successfully demonstrate it. The first person to do so will win 10 rounds of equally functional, 100% plastic 3D-printed .223 Remington ammunition.

Take the 3D AR Challenge!

The aptly named “Crooks and Liars” believes… well, let Ms. Madrak tell you:

Do-It-Yourself Plastic Guns: What Could Go Wrong?
“Tomorrow morning, the sun will be shining, the birds will be singing and anyone will be able to legally download instructions to 3d print their own fully-functional plastic gun, including the AR-15, a weapon of war. What could possibly go wrong?” Avlon said.

And that’s what happens when you get your facts from CNN.

I’ve decided to issue a challenge:

3D-print a fully-functional, plastic AR-15, and successfully demonstrate it. The first person to do so will win 10 rounds of equally functional, 100% plastic 3D-printed .223 Remington ammunition.

For contest purposes, “fully-functional” means the AR system must operate per standard design. It must be “fully semiautomatic,” firing a complete, 30-round magazine. ARs are designed with quick reloads in mind, so the test must include a magazine change, with the full second 30-round magazine fired.

It’s a system, so the magazines must also be 3D-printed in plastic in their entirety.

The presence of any metallic component will disqualify any entry.

The test must use conventional, off-the-shelf, commercial ammunition.

Contest entrants are solely responsible for compliance with the Undetectable Firearms Act and other federal laws, state/local laws, and their own personal safety.

Entries may be submitted via video which adequately shows that all components of the AR system are compliant with contest rules (i.e.- 3D-printed plastic), or in person at my location.

There are no restrictions on the type of plastic used, so long as it is extruded by the printer.

All firearms entered remain the property of their creators.

Contest entry closes at 11:59 PM on August 31, 2018.

In the event of a tie (two qualifying entries received simultaneously), the winner will be the person who shows what nation generally issues the “AR-15, a weapon of war,” to its regular troops.

Send video links, or arrange in-person demonstrations, to me at bussjaeger@zelmanpartisans.com.

Florida Public Service Announcement

Via Ammoland:

Florida’s Largest Pro Gun Rally Set For Saturday, July 28 at Capitol

Three major gun-related events merge together on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at the Capitol, in Tallahassee.

The Big Pro-Gun Rally” – billed as “the largest pro-gun rally in Florida history” with top speakers from around the nation; the anti-gun “March for Our Lives”; and the no-compromise pro-Second Amendment Utah Gun Exchange “Freedom Tour”. All of these events give both gun owners and anti-gunners a chance to support their respective choices.

“The Big Pro-Gun Rally” [www.thebigprogunrally.com] takes place at the Capitol Courtyard beginning at noon with musical entertainment provided by singer/guitarist Gene Loy. Then the big guns begin to roll out at 2:00 pm, with fourteen of the top pro-gun speakers in the nation including Erich Pratt , executive director of Gun Owners of America; Hickok45 with 3.5 million YouTube followers; Mark Keith “I am the Majority” Robinson of viral YouTube fame; Kaitlin Bennett the AR10 Kent State gal; Jon Gutmacher, rally organizer and author of the Florida Firearms book with over 235,000 copies sold; Erin Palette, founder of Operation Blazing Sword, the LGBTQ pro-gun training organization; and there will also be performances by country recording artist Krystal Walters, and Josh Taylor who’s first Nashville album releases in September.

It’s an event expected to draw over two thousand attendees, and it’s free. If you’re a gun owner, it’s the place to be.

The March for Our Lives will also be meeting in Tallahassee at the same time, primarily to sign up voters for their political agenda, although the location of their event has not yet been disclosed. The Utah Gun Exchange, “Freedom Tour” which has been appearing at all March for Our Lives events to present a contrary Second Amendment viewpoint, will be joining up with “The Big Pro-Gun Rally” at the Capitol Courtyard at the July 28 rally, specifically to celebrate its Second Amendment message. It’ll be one heck of a rally, and an event that shouldn’t be missed.

ATTN: Bump-Fire Stock Owners, Sellers, Manufacturers, Distributors

From the Firearms Policy Coalition:

If you know of anyone who manufactures, distributes, sells, bought, owns, or possesses a “bump-stock” type device, or you/they did manufacture, distribute, or sell “bump-stock” devices but no longer do because of the ATF’s proposed ban, they should contact the Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) Legal Action Hotline at https://www.firearmspolicy.org/hotline AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. FPC and Firearms Policy Foundation have retained Firearms Industry Consulting Group attorneys to oppose the ATF’s unconstitutional and unlawful proposed ban on these devices. If the ATF’s proposed rule goes into effect, it would require the destruction of all such devices, nation-wide, or a possessor might face federal felony criminal penalties and the loss of rights. For more information on FPC and FPF’s efforts to oppose the ATF’s proposed “bump-stock” ban, please see “FPC/FPF Opposition to ATF’s Proposed Ban on Bump-Stock-Type Devices (docket no. 2017R-22)” at https://www.firearmspolicy.org/fpc-fpf-opposition-atf-bump-stock-ban.

Incentive

Governments have a habit of throwing money at problems…

…unless it might go to honest folks. Like honest, noncriminal gun owners.

So they’ll pay criminals to “behave,” but punish gun owners for not “behaving.” I’ve got a better idea.

Just those three Danegeld cities would account for some $6 million a year in extortion payments. That would buy more than 105,000 of these little gun safes, and handguns are the preferred firearm of choice — small, concealable, easily disposed of — for criminals.

Instead of criminalizing theft victims, and paying off the predators, how about incentivizing guns owners to secure unattended weapons?

Michael Bloomberg spent $20 million just on Nevada’s 2016 background check initiative, only to see it fail when it turned out his toadies wrote an unenforceable proposition. He could have spent the same money on 350,000 gun safes — for more than 10% of the state’s population –, and actually accomplished something.

For that matter, $20 million would provide excellent bounty payments for would-be victims who take out the criminal who attempted to prey upon them. A two-fer: incentivizing defense and elimination of criminal predators.

Go For It

In the wake of the Santa Fe school shooting, where an under-age scumbag stole a pump-action shotgun and a revolver to kill ten and wound more, I started seeing a different set of disarmament clarion calls. The criminal enablers are abandoning demands for bans on “assault weapons,” universal background checks, and age limits. Now it’s a flat out total ban on everything.

A typical example:

Okay, Now I Actually Do Want To Take Your Guns
Anyway, I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that I now actually do want to take your guns.

All of your guns.

Right now.

All righty then. Start with the criminals. That should be easy; via NICS, you have a list of everyone who already isn’t allowed to have guns. A good many of them are subject to current court orders and probation/parole that will allow the police to search their homes without new warrants. Go for it. Prove you can make it work.

Hey, felons et al have been prohibited from possessing firearms for fifty years. Since they’re so compliant with the law, they probably… oh. Wait.

For fifty years you haven’t been able to disarm the criminals. 64% of firearms-wielding murderers have prior felony convictions, yet mysteriously got around of fifty years of laws meant to prevent just that.

Nearly 91% of firearms used in murders are stolen (just like the guns used in Santa Fe, stolen from a locked cabinet). Well, that’s one way around NICS (which has been in place for two decades).

Somehow, despite knowing exactly who they are (because everyone knows how accurate NICS is), you haven’t managed to get guns out of the hands of those already stripped of Second Amendment rights through adjudication.

But now you want to go after… everyone else. The 99.9978% of gun owners who didn’t commit any heinous crimes.

Just in case you evil bastards — out to ensure safe workplaces for criminals — forgot, you don’t know to the nearest 10,000,000 how many gun owners are out there. It might be 50,000,000. Or 60,000,000. Maybe 81,000,000. 100,000,000. Some think (with a fair bit of credibility) that the number is over 120,000,000; more than a third of the nation.

You don’t know how many, so you certainly don’t know who they are, much less where. And their guns? How many, what kind, and where? You don’t know. Could be 265,000,000. Might be 750,000,000.

But you’re convinced that bans are so effective. Just ban everything and the owners will be happy to give up their property. Hey, it worked for Prohibition and the War on Drugs… oh.

Allow me to clue you in:

  • People don’t like to have their property stolen, by freelance crooks or the uniformed type.
  • Since you haven’t managed to disarm the criminals, the rest of us especially won’t care to give up our defensive property.

But let’s pretend that 90% of gun owners go along with your crime enablement scheme (-giggle-). That leaves anywhere from 5,000,000 to over 12,000,000 heavily armed, noncompliant SOBs (or, HANSOBs, as I’ve referred to them elsewhere).

You’ll have to go take their guns. Kick in their doors because they’re well armed.

I’d say, “Best o’ luck, bubba,” but I don’t wish stormtroopers the best of anything. I suggest that Davie Holmes lead the first few confiscation teams to show the guys how it’s done, and to encourage them. And he’d better bring along his ban buddies to help, because the HANSOBs would have every single local, state, and federal LEO, and the entire active and reserve military outnumbered, even assuming the lowball estimate of gun owners and a silly compliance rate. (No one has gotten better than 20% compliance just on registration; and ask Mass how that bump-fire ban went; I heard they got 3. Not 3%; Three stocks.)

But if you gun grabbers choose to go that literal route, be aware of what you’re getting yourselves into.

Wait a sec: Excuse me, I need to place a bulk order for popcorn. I intend to hunker down, sit back, eat popcorn, and enjoy “The Statist-Hunting Show”. It wouldn’t be civil war; Holmes and his buds should be so lucky.

Yes, if you declare that you’re going out to hunt those nasty noncompliant gun owners (who hadn’t done anything… up till now), I consider it extremely likely they’ll return the favor. Please recall that those HANSOBs will probably include a lot of combat vets and people who can — and routinely do — pop prairie dogs in the head at a thousand yards; the guns you’d be trying to take are the guns with which they do that.

Happily for Holmes and his ilk, a lot of them will be of libertarian leanings, like me; we won’t go hunting; that would be an initiation of force. But the fervor of their self defense, should the victim disarmers make that necessary, will astonish and terrify the bastards. On the other hand, libertarian-types are probably a small minority.

Individuals, small groups. No organized “militia” you can defeat or negotiate with. Rather chaotic, in fact.

And should Dave Holmes prove to a be a cheese-nibbling chickenshit, who won’t take point, who thinks he can send out the jackbooted thugs while he rests comfortably at home, four words:

Clinton Rules of Engagement. In fragmenting Yugoslavia, Billy Jeff Clinton determined that noncombatant media, friends, associates, friends of friends were valid military targets, as they gave support to the “enemy,”

That’s another favor those HANSOBs will probably be happy to return.

Now, That’s Entertainment.

Go for it. Bell that cat.

Bump-Fire Rule: If you have not commented, do so

The Brady Campaign to Protect Violent Criminals plans some late comment period “ballot stuffing.” If comments mean anything — which I doubt, or this would not have been proposed — you should make sure your thoughts are known.

Pro-gun voices dominate in debate over Trump’s bump-stock ban
Of the more than 17,000 public comments received so far by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), a review by Reuters of 4,200 turned up only 10 favoring the bump stock ban. Almost all the rest criticized the proposal as heavy-handed, unnecessary or unconstitutional.
[…]
“We are rallying our members and we will be putting in a whole additional series of comments,” said Avery Gardiner, co-president of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, a Washington-based group dedicated to reducing gun deaths.

“The numbers will shift,” Gardiner said.

99.762 against, with logical, legal, and constitutional reasoning. 0.238% in favor, with… feelz. Therefore it will be implemented, is my guess.

It won’t help when the gun controllers start their commenting campaign. Expect to see a lot of last minute identically-worded rants about machineguns, probably from bots.

Coverage, or it didn’t happen

RKBA supporters are well past the point of “pics, or it didn’t happen.”

As Sheila noted, Saturday, April 14th was was planned for pro-human/civil rights rallies across the country, with an emphasis on state capitols.

Now, I’m in favor of such actions myself. But I proposed a rather later date with much better coordination. For a reason.

2A/RKBA supporters have effectively lost every major media battle for the past twenty years (at least). The media is actively against the right to keep and bear arms, so we need to present them with a situation so well planned and executed that they cannot ignore it.

They may probably will lie, but they wouldn’t ignore it.

So how did the media battle of coverage of Saturday’s rallies go?

  • CNN: Zip
  • ABC: Nada
  • CBS: “Hey, let’s implement Universal Basic Income!”
  • NBC: “Look! Syria!”
  • MSNBC: “Russians! And you’re racist if you disagree.”

Seriously. If there’s coverage of the rallies on those sites, it’s buried enough that I didn’t find it.

But not all is lost! I scrolled down at Faux Snooze and found this:

Peaceful protesters numbering in the hundreds gathered outside statehouses from Maine to Wyoming to hear speakers warn that any restrictions on gun ownership or use could eventually lead to bans for law-abiding gun owners.

Hundreds. Total. Across the country. Thanks, Faux.

Local coverage was a little bit better. The news was forced to admit that at least 800 people turned out in Augusta, ME alone.

But unless, like me, you’re specifically looking for news of something you already know about, you weren’t going to see that. Otherwise…

A handful of locals heard that another handful of locals turned out for something, but it was probably an isolated band of loonies.

Congratulations, NCCPA. You just staged a nonexistent protest.

I’ve given advice on how to do this. Let me elaborate.

We don’t have billionaires funding us. I wish we did, because I could use some cash to get my truck working well enough to drive to the capitol. We don’t have corporate sponsors who will donate multiple planes to airlift people to protests. We don’t have government school diverting hundreds of thousands of dollars to rent buses and buy food for protesters.

Turn-Out: To get coverage, we need a turn-out that can’t be ignored. Thousands at one high profile location, and smaller protests across the country. Sound familiar? The anti-rights people did that for a reason.

Attention: People have to know about it in advance. Both protesters who have to get there, and the folks we want to hear our views, so they know to pay attention when it happens.

Both of those require time and money.

Time: Time to plan, time to arrive, time to inform a less-than-receptive media, time raise money.

Money: Money for advertising, money for outreach, money for transportation (unless you’re donating a 747) — buses, air travel, parking space — money for frickin’ bottled water for attendees. Money for trash pickup post-protest so we present a better image than the littering left.

Since we have a shortage of rich, generous folks with an interest in human/civil rights, I suggest crowd-funding. Set up a spreadsheet and crunch rally logistics numbers: permits, fees, transportation, rations, PR, and so forth. When you got a number, set up a crowd-funding account with the declared goal. This will take time (see above). Do this well in advance of the rally date.

If it has escaped your notice, that’s a lot of planning, fund-raising, and media coordination (among other things). You need people who can spend all their time on it. Volunteers to help are fantastic, but you need some full-time pros. That’s why the Marx for Your Lives folks had a formal non-profit set up for coordination. There’s only so much volunteer amateurs can do in their spare time away from the jobs that will — in the end — pay for all this.

So budget for experienced coordinators, too.

Public Relations: People to talk to the media; not just prior to the big show, but at the protest. Designated spokesmen scattered across the perimeter to home in on reporters and give a sane summary of our positions, complete with rehearsed sound bites.

PR also means keeping the crazies away from the media. There will be crazies. Every movement has some. Plan for it. Designated spokesmen team with a designated “Lunatic Interception Agent.” When the off-his-meds guy from the Mom’s Basement Brigade with 4 guns, two machetes, swastikas, and homemade body armor 3 sizes too small approaches a reporter, the LIA stops him: “That’s our TACTICAL Public Relations Operator, bro. She’s a trained operator; let her handle it.”

And let’s be realistic. We’ll be dealing with media types who value form over substance; it won’t hurt to use… photogenic spokesmen. Male and female, to target receptive reporters of whichever gender.

“There will be crazies.” I could write a column just on that. Even in the SCA, a hotbed of insanity, we did dealt with this. I spoke to a lot of reporters because I could be trusted to explain that we weren’t crazy, that it was a “learn-by-doing” history thing. I had memorized talking points. And meanwhile, someone else would be distracting the  mostly naked, wanna-be Pict who’d spotted the pretty reporter and wanted to hit on her why bragging on what a greater fighter he is because he hurts people.

And no offense to the crystal power folks, who were mostly harmless, but we tried to keep them away from most reporters, too. Nice enough, but easily distracted by shiny things from what they should have been explaining.

We have a coordinated enemy. It’s time we act in a coordinated fashion to protect our constitutional human/civil rights, as well.
