This week’s poll is now UPDATE: Closed. The question: Which Republican presidential candidate is most dangerous to gun rights?
Before anybody gets mad, some explanation: We’re not prejudiced against R-party candidates. (Well, I am, but slightly less than I am against D-party candidates.) We’re just doing separate polls on each party. Ds and probably some mixed matches still to come. We may even do some political polls with a more positive spin.
Also, the eight names that appear in the new poll are those who qualified for this week’s Fox News “big boy” debate. Candidates who didn’t have enough support to make that debate were omitted.
So go. V*te. Then come back here and leave a comment to tell why you think that candidate is most perilous to gun rights.
(H/T to CB for the poll idea.)

Last week’s poll (on favorite EDC calibers) is still open through Monday at 6:00 p.m. CST. So please v*te in that, too, if you haven’t already.
Here’s where results stand as of early Sunday a.m. (click to embiggenate):

I personally v*ted for Carson because he’s an ignoramus about guns and gun-rights issues who could end up blowing whichever way the political wind blows. But I see that somebody else immediately jumped in and gave Trump a v*te of non-confidence and I have to agree Trump’s dangerous just because he thinks like a tyrant.
The only one of the bunch I’d actually somewhat trust on guns is Paul.
Despite his more recent ‘position’ Trump is no RKBA ally (nor an ally of liberty on any issue). But he’s opportunistic, and smart enough to realize there’s a large faction of voters he shouldn’t antagonize too much.
Carson, though… He’s smart, and I think he may even be a nice guy. He seems to sincerely believe whatever stance on 2A issues he has on any given day. But he bases his position du jour on feelz; as a surgeon, he’s seen some nasty TBI from gunshot wounds, and it troubles him. Being a feelz/sincere type, he’s extremely vulnerable to anti-RKBA manipulation.
In that sense, Carson may even be worse than HRC. She’s certainly an evil [censored] who certainly wants guns taken from all us serf scum, but she’s smart enough and cynical enough to base actual action on whether she’s grabbed enough power to get away with it.
I’d worry about Bush if he didn’t look so unlikely to be elected now. He shares the establishment view of armed hoi polloi, no matter what he says. But right now he seems little danger to anyone.
Carson, to my shock, is looking hot and while he was still learning how to be a candidate he blurted his real ‘feelings.’ His rhetoric of course abruptly changed, but I doubt his actual opinion has. So I v*ted Carson.
“Trust” doesn’t even enter the picture, even microscopically. This is a choice between being hung, shot or drowned.
Nobody has any legitimate authority to decide anything for me, ever. As long as people think there is such an authority, however, the political insanity will continue.
I wouldn’t trust even my wonderful neighbors with such power over my life and safety. Those things are simply not legitimately up for a vote by anyone. The sooner people realize that about their own lives and safety, the sooner we can get beyond this whole mess.
Don’t vote. It only encourages them… and much worse, gives them the fictional belief in their own legitimacy.
Don’t vote. Let the situation proceed naturally on its course into Revolution. You can’t help it by voting, nor can you prevent it. What you can do however, is to enhance your own independence of mind. Crawl out of the political muck.
Voting or not voting is an individual choice, as with that and everything else to each his or her own.
For me, I will vote, our problem today may not be solved by voting but when those opposed to liberty stand on one side of the field I shall stand on the other, whether I stand on the soap box, the jury box, the ballot box or the cartridge box depends on what is needed that day or time, but I will stand!
Those of us who believe in the 2nd amendment & what it really stands for are bless to have some very good candidates running on the R side who also support the 2nd amendment in their words & deeds and if, God forbid, the other side happens to win this election; IMHO our choices of which box to stand on will be narrow down somewhat at that time!
I like keeping as many choices available as possible as long as we can.
