Folks still after Nugent

I have a suggestion for him.

Ted Nugent shows protested over singer’s controversial remarks
“The fair reflects the values of the entire county, and having Ted Nugent perform at the fair would reflect tolerance of racism, anti-Semitism, misogyny, xenophobia, ableism, and incivility toward people who protest his remarks or cancel his shows,” former social studies teacher Jennifer Vogt-Erickson wrote.

He should email the ditz a copy of his Honorary TZP Membership certificate, and wear his yarmulke on stage.

As for Vogt-Erickson, she should learn a little more about Ted Nugent before bleating like an ill-informed, self-entitled fool.

Is Nugent perfect? Of course not. Who is? Despite his flaws, am I still willing to have him as an ally in the fight for freedom?

Absolutely.

“Ableism”? She’s frickin’ upset that he can do stuff she can’t?

I’ll bet this is a direct descendant of that meme whereby “educators” (i.e., employees of the Government Youth Propaganda Camps) complain that pro athletes and entertainers make more money than they do, even though we call education important.

I’ll ignore for the moment the fact that they mostly don’t educate; I’ll pretend that they do. The fundamental economic issue is that one educator is hard pressed to educate more than a few people at a time (but even in education there are some “rock stars” people turn to for an informal education, and they do well). Millions of teachers. Only a relative handful of entertainers/athletes, who satisfy an equally large audience. Even though LESS money is spent, in the aggregate, on those things, the players/singers will make more on an individual basis. At least, the famous ones will. Most people who get paid to entertain cannot ever give up their day job.

As for Nugent: To my mind he wanted to say one thing, instead implied another (I refer to the anti-Semitic Jews for Gun Control graphic he re-tweeted, not realizing the sub-text of it). Find someone who has NEVER had a similar screwup in their life, and maybe I will decide Nugent shouldn’t be allowed to make mistakes. (I tend to think he could have handled it in a way better for him, once he realized what he had done, but I recognize that’s not my choice to make.)

I know (now) he was always, in his heart, on our side. (And by “our” I mean “people who wish to remain free” not just TZP.)

  2. There really, I mean REALLY, should be a ban on these people from breeding. NB They just keep devolving ever farther away from normal thinking people.
