ATF Recruiting Call

The ATF held a Zoom recruiting call, and one man had a very pertinent question for them.

“Am I required to not know the Second Amendment, or am I trained to ignore it?”

Silence. And finally an evasive nonanswer.

Frankly, that surprised me. The ATF has been called out for decades for existing to destroy the Second Amendment. I’d expect, by now, that they would a prepped response for that and the lines of Our work is always consistent with the Second Amendment as found by the courts.

But declining to address it at all tells me that the official position is that even lip service to the 2nd is not an ATF concern.

They aren’t even pretending any more.

  1. Either the person who asked that question won’t be hired, or they will be put onto the list for leadership training. One thing is certain, background checks will be looked into MUCH more deeply for this one.
And I would look out for an IRS audit this year, depending on if the BATFE thought it was a question meant to make them look like the Big Brother’s that they are.

  2. I understand the question. But were I needing a job( I don’t thank God) and supporting the 2A, I would consider to play nice and get hired. I get to incorporate my 2A respect from within the ATF..they also bust moonshiners and cigarette license crooks, and there are some Neo,retro, and standard Nazi assholes who legally shouldn’t have guns. Do some good from the inside, if you run into a gun grabbing jerk there is always the whistleblower route. Just an old geezer’s thoughts.

  3. I ran across an article not long ago that if an ATF agent ran across a situation where say someone had gotten a gun because the background check took to long and it turned out they shouldn’t because of something they did in their teens but had been a solid citizen since then, they might let it go. Agent discretion. No more, where he would fill out the paperwork as to why the gun wasn’t picked up and that was the end of it, move on now he will be required to do that paperwork every 30 days. No, the ATF doesn’t want thinking agents…
