Now we know why.

The National Rifle Association board of directors have voted to reelect CEO Wayne LaPierre his position as the group’s chief executive officer – despite a scandal over the group’s financing.A NRA spokesman tweeted the results of the vote, which took place in Charlotte, North Carolina, Saturday. The organization did not share its vote tally.

Years ago when I was part of a regional Second Amendment rights group I ruffled feathers when I called out the NRA for lying about proposed legislation in my state. The feathers I ruffled the most I think were part of the BOD, the same one I was on. My point was if we don’t call out bad behavior we will get more of it.
And like our country, the NRA by enabling bad behavior is at a perilous crossroad. I have a bit, not much, but a bit more hope for our country.
