Michael Moore’s XXVIII AMENDMENT

Michael Moore, apparently desperate for attention after a series of film flops — of which most I’d never even heard — is frantically screaming, Look at me! He has drafted, and allegedly sent to Congress, a 28th Amendment proposal to repeal and replace the Second Amendment.

When I saw this, I had thought I’d do a full fisking on it. But once I got to any homemade equipment and machinery or a 3D printer that can make a gun or weapon that can take a human life,” I knew there was no point to it.

Any equipment and machinery that could be used to make anything that could used to kill.

In the letter I mention flintknapping, but really, the dumb SOB would be outlawing virtually any human technology. Baseball bats, electricity, cars, fertilizers and pesticides. Anything that can potentially kill.

I encourage Moore to adopt this “nothing that can kill” lifestyle immediately. Please.

Mr. Moore,

One of the most disturbing aspects of your proposed amendment is that you appear to have *attempted* to put a lot of thought into it. Attempted, but failed.

I could critique that amendment line by line, but once you outlawed rocks and flintknapping, there hardly seems to be much point to the exercise. I suspect you have never crafted a physical object in your life, other than PBJ sandwiches.

Granted, outlawing full-auto conversion devices for single-shot firearms was amusing.

I do wonder what odds you set for ratification of this proposal, in a nation where half the states have deliberately removed mandated licensing.

Will you volunteer to lead the stack of a confiscation team, to collect the millions of firearms no one is going to turn in voluntarily? You live in Michigan, I see, so you could volunteer to disarm Bloods and Crips in Detroit. Have fun with that since your amendment would disarm you and your police team members.

Watching you try that in southern Georgia might be even more amusing. You would keep gators, pigs, and coyotes fed for quite some time.

Oh, and a hint: You should review HELLER, MCDONALD, and NYSRPA v. Bruen. NO amendment “grants” a right to keep and bear arms. It is a preexisting fundamental and individual right.

I will be re-posting this email at the zelmanpartisans.com, where we do not limit comments to “paid subscribers;” feel free to reply there.

It seems unlikely that Moore will show up here. But if he does, have fun, and be as polite as he deserves.

  1. I have made a few knives in my life. I don’t show them to anyone, since they look like crap. But they do actually work, for the purpose intended, and take an edge quite readily. I used an old lawnmower blade for one, and some actual correct alloy for a few, obtained from my former place of employment, where I spent over 35 years making steel for the investment cast industry.
So I have knives made of both alloy stainless steel and also high carbon steel. I used a grinder and files to make the knives. I don’t use them to kill anyone, but rather mostly to cut rope, lines, and to skin insulation from wires, etc. Heavy duty chores that I don’t want to use my good knives on that I have bought from quality manufactures.
With that being understood, the knives that I made could be used in defense of my life, if needed. In fact, I could likely fashion a pretty good machete out of an old lawn mower blade, if the perceived need was there. And no amount of Michael Moores in the world could stop me. As I know you understand, laws only have an effect on the law abiding.
The same thing goes for the multitude of gun laws on the books, some 20,000 that is often mentioned. Most law abiding citizens try to not run afoul of the laws, although it is hard to know all of them that apply to me, as an individual. But criminals, or those who are willing to risk becoming criminals, by violating gun laws, simply won’t follow any gun laws in order to obtain their guns. That became very apparent during the famous FBI shootout, where a couple of bank robbers, dressed up in bullet proof clothing, fought off and killed a number of FBI agents, before one lone agent was brave and lucky enough to put a stop to the reign of terror.
The guns that the criminals were carrying were a mini 14, a 12 gauge shotgun, and a couple of .357 magnum revolvers. Not especially military grade weapons, yet they were more powerful than that which the FBI carried at the time.
I have heard a number of estimates of how many firearms there are in the Unites States, anywhere from 2-300 million, or even a bit more. I myself suspect more, since guns tend to last a very long time, and America has existed for a long time. So simply saying that you can no longer have your guns, of any kind, is akin to spitting into the wind, or tilting at windmills. It won’t matter, because it won’t have any effect at all.
If the government attempts to take firearms from people in their houses, they might start at a few homes, and get away with it. But sooner or later, they will run into someone who just says NO. And after the gun battle, either the homeowner will lie dead, or the police force will, of maybe both. How many dead bodies will there have to be, before the spouse of the jackbooted thug says, “you are not going to work today” because he or she has seen too many evening news broadcasts of police officers getting shot at the first knock on the door, by some person who won’t allow their guns to be taken? And so the homeowner and gun owner is shooting from the second floor of the garage, where he has barricaded himself awaiting the police to show up, in order to make sure that he goes down fighting, and to take at least a few out with himself. A wife doesn’t want her husband to have a target painted on her husbands back, just because he is following an illegal order, to take away an American citizens rights. Time will tell, but I hope that people will wake up, and soon, to what the left is really attempting to do to them. And won’t allow them to get away with it. Because if they let it happen, there won’t be any coming back. Just ask the Jews of Nazi Germany.
