Remember that “fully constructed” weapon of white supremacist mass destruction, the Lego Capitol kitl?

Oops. Not so much. In the latest filing, we learn that…

In the original detention memoranda, the undersigned stated that law enforcement found a “fully constructed U.S. Capitol Lego set.” Please note that after a review of the photographs from the search, there appears to have been a miscommunication and that statement appears to be inaccurate. The Lego set was in a box and not fully constructed at the time of the search, as pictured below.

At this rate, I “fully” expect Morss’ confiscated handgun, rifle, and shotgun to be broken airsoft toys. They should finally get around to “reviewing” those pictures, too. In fact, one might — unrealistically, I suppose — expect a US Attorney to look at the evidence before filing charges.

But welcome to modern Amerika.

That filing is an explanation of why the man should be held in pretrial detention without bond. Basically, the feds are saying, We are incapable of differentiating between a box of plastic blocks and an assembled, scaled tactical planning model. Therefore, Morss is even more dangerous than we thought.

I also missed another stupid point out of so many in the July 2 filing. one of the dangerous items they found in Morss’ possession was… a tourniquet. Even worse, “a black tourniquet.” Yes, apparently possession of a tourniquet is proof of deadly intent (along with the scissors). Clearly the man planned to viciously save someone’s life at need.

DOJ, take note: I admit to being in possession of of shooting trauma kit. It not only includes an Evil Black Tourniquet, but also incriminating scissors, dressings, bandages, and .. most nefariously — gloves to avoid leaving fingerprint evidence of my lifesaving skills.

While I don’t have any Lego blocks, I’m fairly sure I’ve got a picture of the Capitol somewhere on my hard drive.
