They.MUST.GO!

They Must Go was written in 1980 while Rabbi Meir Kahane was jailed in Ramle Prison by the Israeli government under an unprecedented administrative detention order that imprisoned him without a trial, without his being informed of any specific charge, and without opportunity to know or to question any alleged evidence or witness. His crime: his philosophy concerning the danger that exists to the state of Israel by the very presence of its large and growing Arab population.

If only we had listened then. Moshe Feiglin, candidate of the Zehut political party in Israel talked about the same thing, relocating the arabs out of Israel into other Arab speaking Muslim countries. Zehut was established in 2015.

Zehut opposes the creation of a Palestinian state. Feglin claims, “there’s no demographic problem anymore. Jewish women are having more children than the Arabs. There’s going to be a Jewish majority of 80 percent between the Mediterranean and the Jordan River in less than 15 years.” He also believes most Palestinians will leave if given incentives to do so.

If only we had listened then. But there was the outcry from the antisemitic left, and those that think the middle east is like the midwest in America. It’s not. The ethnic cleansing cries only come out when it’s directed against Jews, or farmers in South Africa.

They are not like us, not in any sense of the word perhaps other than being carbon based life forms and even that may be stretching it.

As the hostages have been released Hamass has been holding ceremonies to humiliate them as they turn them over to the Red Cross uber service. Interesting, to me, side note. I heard an ad on the radio the other day from the Red Cross uber company, asking for money to help the people of California who will vote only for people that will mismanage their state. I don’t remember Red Uber asking for money to help North Carolina….NEVER give money to Red Cross.

At these ceremonies hostages have been given loot bags, been forced to smile and wave and one was forced to kiss his the forehead of his captor. These hostages have been kept in horrific conditions for around 500+ days now.

I might also point out that the American J6 hostages were kept in horrific conditions by the terrorist organizations in DC. I hope that will be investigated as well.

Hostages

They were kept in dark tunnels and in private homes, they were hidden in hospitals and some are held in other countries. I suspect by Steve Witkoff’s friends the Qataris. He sure gave the Hamass a sweetheart deal, didn’t he? They were kept without food, water and basic medical care. A young girl who was shot at the Nova music festival was operated on by a Veterinarian without anesthesia. I’m sure I needn’t add a lot of details to some of the atrocities they suffered. When the hostages were paraded out to Red Uber they looked horrible, gaunt, trying to smile bravely as demanded by the sub-humans that had held them captive. President Trump along with much of the world seems to have been horrified.

You know who isn’t horrified? Hamass. The denizens of Gaza show up in the hundreds to enjoy the show. The women handed out sweets and the children were shown the brave hamass soldiers who have now found their uniforms after having to wear civilian clothing while the IDF was in the area. It’s a big celebration. Hamass is still in Gaza, they’re still armed, all that starvation in Gaza is rather suspect seeing some of the well stocked markets and people shopping. Now yes, I’m sure there was a lot of theft of the mountain of relief supplies by hamass that were foolishly sent into Gaza. Does it trouble me? No, not really. More honestly? Not at all.

Next gen terrorists in the making

As many of the returned hostages have said, if there are 2 million people in Gaza, there are two million terrorists. Men, women and children, they are all terrorists.

The gentler sex of Hamass

As Howie Silbiger pointed out in his most recent show, The Hamas Horror Show, there were no “innocent Gazans”.

Hundreds of Gazans, men and women the trusting people of the nearby Kibbutzim had tried to help, had taken to doctors appointments, given food and jobs flooded across the border for the 10 grand apiece that hamass promised to pay them for Jews. Living or dead, didn’t matter. Because the sub-humans knew they could ransom the bodies back as well. So they grabbed anything. They also as discussed previously, murdered and tortured anything that struck their fancy. Of the Falestinians who entered Israel on 7 October, 70% were civilians.

Perhaps one of the most heart wrenching sights has been the return of the bodies of the Bibas children 9-month-old baby, Kfir, and his brother 4 year old Ariel.

The Bibas family

They were abducted with their Mother Shiri after the Gazans had killed Shiri’s parents and their dog. Their father was also abducted by Hamass and just a week or so ago he was returned alive, though very gaunt. The little coffins were paraded with great joy and victory through the celebrations of the brave hamass fighters that killed a 9 month old and a 4 year old. I’m not actually sure you can picture what this was like. Four corpses were sent back, one infant and one little boy, and elderly 83 year old man who with his wife had been a peace activist for the Arabs doing everything they could to help them. They killed them all. The fourth body was not that of the little boys mother Shiri as promised, it was some unknown Gazan woman. More on that later. The black coffins were locked, and the innocent Gazans the left around the world is so worried about gave the Israelis keys that didn’t work, and the coffins were filled with propaganda. They probably got it from Harvard. Maybe U of Penn, who knows?

But this is what the spectacle looked like, click on the link to play it.

gazans

The lying hamass tried to say the Bibas family were killed in an Israeli air strike and the bones might have gotten mixed up. Israel demanded the return of Shiri and suddenly the bones sorted themselves and they gave back the correct body. But they told the air strike story for another reason. The little boys were murdered. They were strangled by the arabs, either denizens or Gaza or Hamass. One in the same. Then their little bodies were battered with bricks and stones to make it look like an air strike. At least I hope it happened in that order. I don’t know but I suspect they killed them in front of Shiri. Even the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia thought the Gazans went a bit far on that display and spoke out against it.

So what was the reaction of the world? Well big cities all over the world lit up a few buildings in orange, the two little red headed babies the big brave denizens of Gaza killed. This gesture was supposed to be in solidarity. Nice. Would have been a lot more useful if these countries had actually done something right after this happened to stop it. You know, like condemning Gaza, saying no more aide, no shipments in, no money, no nothing. If they had allowed Israel to cut off water, electricity and certainly not demanded they ship food in to the demons on feet. Did that happen? No. Then you light show doesn’t impress me. But the color orange has another meaning as well.

May I just point out, in Germany during the Holocaust, there were German citizens that tried to help, hide and feed the Jews. There were those that tried to get their children to safety. There was a huge reward offered to any denizen of Gaza for information leading to the return of the hostages. Millions, they could have left Gaza and had a nice life. Do you know how many of the denizens of Gaza came forward to make a better life for their family? None, goose eggs, zero, zip/nada.

So back to the color orange. “If we had listened to the oranges of 2005, we wouldn’t have reached the oranges of 2025.”

The summer of 2005 was a highly charged time in Israel – emotionally, politically and religiously. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon made the decision to unilaterally disengage from Gaza, thus removing some 8,800 Israelis from their homes and communities that they had known for 30+ years and giving the segment of land to the Palestinians. The internal disagreement in Israel raged, as those for the move donned blue and those against donned orange.

This video is an excellent explanation of the disengagement, as well as some video of what Gaza looked like when the Jews lived there. I’ve got it set to start at the relevant part. And may I point out, this video is from five years ago!! It’s not that current.

You would think Israel would have learned, but no, they’re still expelling Jews from their homes. Now in Judea and Shomron since Jew-free Gaza has worked out so well. This article is from 2018 discussing the Nativ Ha’avot neighborhood of Elazar in Gush Etzion which is about 11 miles South of Jerusalem which was where more Jews were expelled from their homes because some left wing group made up the lie that some of the homes might maybe have been a meter into Arab land. They didn’t actually provide proof, but it’s a lot like American demoncrats, say it loudly and often and the media will amplify it. The late Ari Fuld HY”D was there live streaming it. Heart breaking. If you don’t remember Ari Fuld, here you go. I discussed his murder. Did you notice Israel has no problems kicking Jews out of their homes? Out of their cities, dragging them out by their heels? Yeah? Remember that.

So how did these demented sub-humans get this way? Well, with our help, actually. So much has come to light via the DOGE team. What all have we, the US taxpayer spent money of besides transgender operas in Ireland?

USAID (your tax dollars) was funding over 6,200 journalists across 707 media outlets and 279 ‘media’ NGOs including nine out of ten media outlets in Ukraine, WikiLeaks says.

Previously, Elon Musk has hit out at the previous US administration over wasting HEFTY sums on mass media. Which news outlets are on the list and how much was spent on them? Have a look:

BBC apologizes again: ‘serious flaws’ in the making of a documentary about Gaza war

https://x.com/rachelmoiselle/status/1894651775291944999

People can’t seriously expect a “news” organization to do like investigative stuff can they? Shocked, I’m sure they’re shocked the production company was less than honest. Just because there are family members of top hamass officials in it doesn’t mean it’s biased <to the BBC anyway>.

As well as we gave money to the UN who gave it to UNRWA which taught Antisemitism in the schools. We also gave money directly to hamass courtesy of the Antisemitic Samantha Powers and USAID. This hearing was very detailed and enlightening.

This is not just an Israel problem, these people are deranged and dangerous where ever they are. They are violent, they don’t want a better life, they just want to destroy. It’s here now, and spreading due to the infected rot that is our country’s institutions of “higher learning”. Snort, snort.

Pro-Hamas Activists Physically Assault and Injure Employee at Barnard College

Pro-Hamas protesters violently assaulted an employee at Barnard College in New York City on Wednesday after they forced their way into a campus hall.

Video footage circulating on social media shows a mob of activists pushing their way into the building before assaulting the school employee.

The incident occurred during a protest against the school’s decision to expel two students for participating in a rowdy demonstration at Columbia University, according to Fox News.

Did you catch that?? Not pro-Falestine, pro-HAMASS. The terrorist organization.

Anti-Semitic Faculty Activism in on Full Display

Well over a decade ago, when I started teaching at Sarah Lawrence College, I realized that many of my faculty colleagues were anti-Semitic. Because I am visibly Jewish and refuse to denounce Israel, I have been hazed; I have been called a “white skinned Taliban” by a senior professor. I was told that I was part of a colonial, genocidal Jewish people. I have had swastikas drawn on my office door. Somehow, I was expected to do more work than other colleagues to earn their support for promotion. It became clear that my Jewish faith and heritage was a problem for large numbers of professors on campus.

Professor Gad Saad, a Jewish Lebanese refugee that previously taught in Canada can no longer teach at his university because in Turdeau’s Canada it has been come very unsafe to be visibly Jewish. It’s growing. Whenever you take in large groups of people that have no intention of taking on the ethics, customs and ways of the country the come in to, this is going to happen.

Hiding in the schools, everywhere

So, Israel has no problem displacing some people. And obviously the denizens of Gaza, Judea and Shomron certainly can’t stay. President Trump has the only workable solution, remove them. But where? Well, I listened to a fascinating podcast the other day with Tamar Yonah. Her guest was a man she’s had on before, Mudar Zahran, he’s a Jordanian that is trying to replace the King of Jordan who is not that popular. But he maintains the denizens of Gaza are Jordanian and should return to Jordan. He also had what actually might be a workable plan to deal with them once they are there. Part of his point is these denizens of Gaza are so demented (he might has said damaged, I heard demented) that they can’t be trusted around Israelis. And they won’t be sane for possibly another 30 years until they can be in a different environment and it can be bred out of them. Where they can’t earn money by killing Jews. Yes, I know Abbas said they ended pay to slay…in English. In Arabic he told the people they weren’t going to lose one penny…they just changed the name of the program. They’re like demoncrats with DIE like that. Just change the name and keep the program.

And, he has a point. After all, much of it is in the name. From Barry Shaw from the Institute for Strategic Studies:

If you thought that Palestinians originate in “Palestine” think again!

This chart gives you a hint that the vast majority are not Palestinians at all.

History teaches they migrated into the area in pursuit of better lives under the British and the Jews who were developing a barren Ottoman landscape.

This chart gives just a few examples proving that Palestinians are NOT native to the land but migrated into the area.

One prime example not on this list is Yasser Arafat born an Egyptian and lied about his own identity.

Other “Palestinian” family/tribal names not on the list include;

Sourani (Lebanon)

Qaraqi

Dibini (Lebanon)

Abayat (Saudi Arabia)

Sawara (Lebanon)

Bushnaq (Bosnia)

Qaraqi (Iran)

What’s in a name?

But he’s not the only one saying it. The Origins of Arab Settlers in the Land of Israel

The armies of seven Arab countries set out to destroy the Jewish state, which they outnumbered a hundred to one. They also persecuted the Jewish citizens who lived in their own countries for hundreds of years, forcing them to leave and take refuge in the newly created State of Israel.

The Arab nations, together with the Arab population in the British Mandate area, sought to annihilate the Jews in the region and failed. The only catastrophe for them in this scenario was that they lost the war.

As in any war, people were uprooted and made to relocate. Nearly a million Jews – who were not even involved in the hostilities – were expelled from Arab countries; and over 600,000 Arabs from Israeli territory, many of whom were actually told to leave by the advancing Arab armies.

Steve Witkoff’s little darlings that he got released from prison have shown there goals haven’t changed. Terrorist eliminated: Girl critically injured in Pardes Hanna ramming attack

But that’s not the only thing the his little buddies have been up to. I don’t know how much of this you may, or may not have heard. But there was another absolute genuine miracle in Israel recently. I mean epic. The writer is Hillel Fuld, the brother of the late Ari Fuld HY”D, and the murderer of his brother Ari was released by Steve Witkoff. In other writings he’s talked about that being so very painful to bear, and I’m sure it is. But I’m going to end with this, because frankly, after you read this? What could anyone say? I’m not putting this in italics even though it’s a quote, so it will be as easy to read as possible. It’s worth it.

But after you read this, you will understand, if you didn’t already. THEY.MUST.GO!

Since day one, I’ve been telling anyone who will listen that since 10/7, we’ve witnessed so many miracles, it’s hard to count.

Some of these miracles are easy to recognize, like how well the beeper operation went down or how successful we were at intercepting or detonating those hundreds of drones and ballistic missiles fired at us from Iran. Twice.

Other miracles were harder to recognize.

And then we have last night.

Last night was a miracle the caliber of the splitting of the sea.

I am talking an open miracle that could and should have ended very differently.

Do not ask me for my source and if that means you don’t believe what I’m about to say, so be it. You can keep scrolling. But if you know my work, you know I’m very careful with what I share so if I’m sharing this, trust me, it’s based on a reliable source.

Last night, a young lady noticed a suspicious object on a bus in the center of Israel. She reported it to the driver who pulled into a station, got everyone off the bus, at which point, the bus blew up and was completely destroyed.

But that wasn’t the end of it. Not even close.

Over the hours that followed, an additional four bombs were discovered on busses, some of them exploded, others were taken apart before exploding. Some malfunctioned.

According to my source, and this was news to me, a whopping 15 buses were supposed to explode this morning. According to reports, the terrorist set the timer for 9 PM instead of 9 AM.

So is that the worst of it? Not even close.

In addition to the 15 buses, 5 suicide bombers were set to detonate bombs on the lightrail at the same time, all in the center of Israel.

So is that the worst? Nope. That’s the good part.

Where did this attack originate? Gaza? Nope. Judea and Samaria. In other words, these terrorists came from within Israel.

And here’s the kicker, and again, I am not telling you where I heard this, all of the above was intended to be nothing more than the distraction, much like the incoming rockets on 10/7. Just a distraction for the real invasion.

My source says that as those buses and terrorists blew up, massive security and emergency forces were supposed to rush to the scene at which point, there would be a massive breach of the security fence and many terrorists from Judea and Samaria would invade Israel and carry out a 10/7 2.0. Only this time it wouldn’t be from Gaza so it would be an invasion into basically every major city in Israel.

For the third time, this is not information that is publicly available. I can’t share a link and I won’t share a source. Believe me or don’t. Up to you.

It is worth pointing out that for decades, we did not have any bus explosions in Israel. We do this deal and release terrorists, some of whom were the architects behind the bus bombings during the intifada, and all of a sudden, we’re back to buses blowing up.

I can’t imagine anyone believing that that’s a coincidence.

All of this was supposed to go down during rush hour and would have caused hundreds, maybe thousands of Israelis deaths.

Even if the rest isn’t true, multiple buses blowing up like this bus during rush hour? Can’t even imagine.

Yesterday morning was one of the hardest days in Israel’s history. Perhaps the hardest. We all felt hopeless, every last one of us.

When we are in pain, God is in pain with us.

I don’t know about you, but yesterday morning, as I saw the coffins of the Bibas angels, I looked up to Hashem and asked why. Why would he cause us so much pain or allow Hamas to do this to us??

I told myself that we’ll be ok but wasn’t sure if that was true. Was God even watching over us any more? Has He abandoned us? Did He turn His back on us?

Then, as the hostages were being delivered, a beautiful rainbow appeared in the Israeli skies, a sign from the times of Noah, that God won’t ever destroy the world or let it be destroyed. A rainbow, according to Jewish scripture, is God’s way of telling us, “Don’t worry. I got your back.”

Still, though, I was just so sad and so angry.

And then the news started to hit my feeds.

A bus exploded. No injuries.

Hmm, “How does that happen?” I asked myself.

Then another bus exploded. No injuries. And a third. No injuries.

I already felt God’s presence again. I could breathe again.

And the news kept coming in. More bombs discovered. More intel. This was supposed to be the biggest attack since 10/7, maybe even bigger.

Totally thwarted.

By who? The IDF? Nope.

Shabak? Nope.

Mossad? Nope.

This was a massive attack prevented 100% by God Himself. And a very vigilant young lady who noticed the suspicious object.

Whatever Hamas planned or didn’t plan for this morning, I would not be writing these words if their plan had come to fruition. But God had other plans and after all the pain God’s children endured yesterday, He felt we needed to be reminded of His presence. He felt we needed to be reminded that He has our back, now and always. He was right. We did need it.

This event might go down in history as one of the biggest miracles the Jewish people experienced since biblical times.

“There are two ways to live life. One is that nothing is a miracle. The other is that everything is a miracle.”

Some will explain how the Iron Dome works and therefore conclude that it’s not a miracle. The same for David’s Sling and the Arrow system.

Some will explain how all of those rockets and drones not intercepted by Israel fell in empty spaces. They might not believe that that too was a miracle.

The beepers? The walkie talkies? Getting Nasrallah? Haniyeh? Deif? They’ll attribute all of that to Israel’s intelligence.

But this? What happened last night? Israel had nothing to do with it. If you don’t see this event as a miracle, there is only one explanation. You don’t want to see it as a miracle.

Open your eyes. Clean your lenses. Hashem is here with us in our pain and each day that passes, we are one day closer to Him finally revealing Himself to us, explaining why any of this had to happen, and ultimately bringing mashiach.

For now, I just wanted to recognize Hashem’s greatness and on behalf of the hundreds, maybe thousands of Israelis who should be dead right now, just say thank you.

הודו לה השם כי טוב כי לעולם חסדו

Give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Blessed are you, O Lord, our God, King of the Universe, who rewards good deeds, who rewards me for every good thing

We say that blessing when we are saved from tragedy. Today, the Jewish nation was saved from tragedy.

Thank you, Hashem.

Who’s Fault?

Yesterday was Tisha B’Av or the ninth of the month of Av. I’ve written about the 9th of Av or Tisha B’Av a few times.  But a quick refresher from Chabad.org 18 Tisha B’Av Facts Every Jew Should Know Just a bit

  1. Tisha B’Av Is the Saddest Day of the Jewish Calendar

Tisha B’Av, the 9th day of the month of Av (Jul. 26-27, 2023), is the saddest day on the Jewish calendar. Referred to by the prophet as “the fifth [month] fast,”1 it is second in severity only to Yom Kippur, which is mandated in the Torah.

  1. It Commemorates Several Tragic Events

Both Holy Temples in Jerusalem were destroyed on this date. The First Temple was burned by the Babylonians in 423 BCE and the Second Temple fell to the Romans in 70 CE, unleashing a period of suffering from which our nation has never fully recovered.

In fact, the tragedies of the 9th of Av predate the destruction of the Temples: this was the date upon which the spies returned from the Promised Land with frightening reports and the Israelites balked at the prospect of entering the land.

In 133 CE, the Bar Kochba revolt against the Romans ended in defeat. The Jews of Betar were butchered on the 9th of Av and the Temple Mount was plowed on the same date.

Later on in our history, many more catastrophic events happened on this day, including the 1290 expulsion of England’s Jews and the 1492 banishment of all Jews from Spain.

Also events that affected the whole world, as in the start of both world wars.

But this is more about why the temples were destroyed. As Rabbi Tovia says in the following clip, some will say the Babylonians did it (The First Temple) some will say the Romans did it (The Second Temple) but no, actually it was because of the hatred we had for each other.

Baseless hatred. This is probably something that should have a bit of rumination as both Israel and America are bitterly divided right now. There are similarities. The fomenting of hatred and division is coming from the left in both countries now and it’s reaching a fever pitch.

In Israel the division is manufactured by the left and financed by NGOs, the US State Department (tax dollars that haven’t yet been laundered in Ukraine) George Soros and the like. They have admitted that, just not the amounts. The vehicle chosen for this is something called “Judicial Reform” and it is sorely needed.

Moshe Feiglin made the comment recently that “The left would be willing to burn down the country just as long it would be them standing on top of the ashes proclaiming they’re taking over the power.”

The IDF like the American military has been taken over by the left. IDF doctors are also threatening to not show up to work. The IDF including the upper echelon are apparently willing to abandon their country for their devotion to the left, a country with no borders and a religion unto itself. Before American readers feel to smug about this, may I just say Mark Miley, Lloyd Austin and Rachel Levine? Those are strong military leaders? To the left the goal is to demolish the more conservative right, not protect their country.

I listened to a podcast recently and I really wanted to have this column done before the 9th of Av, but that didn’t happen.

So in case you don’t want to listen to the whole thing, here are my points. Judicial reform; in Israel no one including the left is questioning the results of the election they lost. They don’t use voting machines or have drop boxes. It was an honest election. The left lost as most knew they would. So the left does what the left does, they hold their activist Supreme Court so they know they can still get their way. The Israeli Supreme Court is not elected, the members of the Knesset are, by the people. The Knesset make the kind of laws they said they would when they were campaigning. For example, Israel has illegal invaders as well. The illegal invaders have made South Tel Aviv very dangerous, which is bad because that’s where the Central bus terminal is, but even without that, it’s scary. So, the Knesset passed a law, if you’re an illegal invader you no longer get Israeli tax dollars to support you. Go home. They were trying to remove some of the incentives for the illegal invaders to hang around. Yea!! At one time 80% of the Knesset has talked about judicial reform, including the left. The Israeli Supreme Court said nope you can’t do that. Think of a Supreme Court made up of Sotomayors, Jackson Brown, Kagen and the like. You know, useless stupid people that lie. Their whole court is like that. So really, the average Israeli citizens have no representation. Meanwhile the MSM and the leftwing Non-Governmental Organizations who flood Israel with money and influence have convince far too many citizens that their elected officials, that they voted for, being able to pass and implement laws is a threat to democracy. So they are out in the street disrupting lives and traffic, threatening law makers and generally acting the fool. And as Dr. Mordechai notes, the protests against the law and the attempt to overthrow the elected government was in place before the election even happened. It gets really interesting at 4:24 in. Ok, the whole thing is interesting.

In America, we have a President that has clearly betrayed our country. Every decision, every statement harms average Americans and aids either a country that has given his crime family large amounts of money or the illegal invaders flooding our country, many of them young single men of military age. How long before New York looks like France burning? Where and when will the first acts of terrorism occur that the left will try to use to limit the rights of law abiding citizens occur?

I recently heard or read a statement that a certain percentage of viewers of CNN and MSNBC are unaware of any of the Biden crime family’s activities. Unaware! And having in the past had a conversation with consumers of those type of “information” outlets I can tell you pretty confidently that any attempts to offer information or an alternative viewpoint will be met with a parrot like croak of “Fox news talking point”. That’s all they can say. Unless their quoting a medical paper written in Rolling Stone magazine. I’m not even making that one up.

Wayne Allen Root makes the case that the national divorce is already happening. That productive responsible citizens are fleeing blue states with their high taxes, crime, and corruption for red states. I’m sure they are, if they are fortunate enough to have the means to flee.

But it’s more about the mindset of those that choose to live in the left’s alternative reality where Hunter Biden, who has been selling access to his father for years is just a poor boy with a “problem” and his Dad the president is just standing by his son, “A father’s love” according to the harpies on The View and the left wing propaganda outlets. Nope, a corrupt family hanging together. And no matter how much evidence is presented, they will be unaware of it.

There is a reason for the divisive hatred boiling in both countries. And it’s all stemming from the left, they foment and feed it. And the propaganda arm disseminates it. Yes, neither country really has a functional military or an actual justice system. America is functioning more as a banana republic than a serious country at this point. But I find it incredibly sad that the day after the 9th of Av both countries are so bitterly divided, and in both countries,  it comes from the same direction. Both countries were founded on G-dly principles and the left is trying to destroy that as much as anything I think, as they try to take down both countries. Moshe Feiglin is correct and this bitter division has cost dearly before. Have we learned nothing? I believe, I truly do, we need to pray for Israel to accept their sovereignty and build the Third Temple. I think that would be a good first step in beginning to right the world.

Another Place, Another Time

I guess I’ve had a couple trips down memory lane lately. Well, other people’s memory as well as my own.

I saw this iconic picture yesterday hanging on a wall and it started a conversation between me and another lady sitting there. So I looked up the history on it. Far from being faked as has been supposed by some,

Lunch atop a skyscraper
Lunch atop a skyscraper

On September 20, 1932, high above 41st Street in Manhattan, 11 ironworkers took part in a daring publicity stunt. The men were accustomed to walking along the girders of the RCA building (now called the GE building) they were constructing in Rockefeller Center. On this particular day, though, they humored a photographer, who was drumming up excitement about the project’s near completion. Some of the tradesmen tossed a football; a few pretended to nap. But, most famously, all 11 ate lunch on a steel beam, their feet dangling 850 feet above the city’s streets.

For these dudes, eating lunch, having a smoke, reading a paper 850 feet above the ground was not a big deal. Another place, another time. It’s like Sheila, can we take a picture of you feeding your animals?  Business as usual.

Then I got a email from a friend of mine with pictures of tinker toys, drive in movies, Dippity Do, Howdy Doody, saddle oxfords, and many more. All things I certainly remember. Another place, another time.

Then I had a conversation with my Mom today, and we talked about the picture in the course of the conversation. How we were as a people then. Tough, strong, brave, and we wanted to make our own way in the world. We wanted our children to have more and better chances than we did. We wanted to leave the world a better place for them. And often that was in the form of hard work, dangerous work, creative work, and sometimes war. Another place, another time.

And now, our children are “children”. In college they seek counseling from the trauma of seeing a name written in chalk. They need “safe spaces” in college, and college communications professors (fired now at University of Missouri at Columbia) trying to shut down, well, communications. They need the segregated “safe spaces” that the civil rights movement fought against a mere 50 years ago. Those struggles forgotten and dishonored. Another place, another time.

Instead of Mr. Smith Goes To Washington we have the dimocratic toddler time as they enjoy their catered in meals, bathroom breaks and publicity photo ops, rather than working to do right until they collapse. They are pitchin’ a hissy fit as they try to take rights, self-defense, endowed by our creator, not them. Another place, another time.

Recently a holocaust survivor publicly confronted former London Mayor Ken Livingstone about several statements, one of which was hitler was a Zionist. He made several other erroneous statements and the radio host corrected him. He knew so much that wasn’t true.

“It isn’t so much that liberals are ignorant. It’s just that they know so many things that aren’t so.” ~~Ronald Reagan

But it was the statement of Mala Tribich, survivor of Bergen-Belsen that hit me hard.

“I find them very offensive and hurtful when people belittle the Holocaust. When they use the Holocaust to score a political point,” she said.

“I really can’t see it. They are usually people in high places. I take them as being intelligent and educated. Yet they can stoop so low to use the Holocaust to better their positions. What really bothers me is that they do it whilst there are some survivors still around. What will they do when we’re all gone?”

As anti-Semitic attacks are on the rise world wide, entire political parties are openly anti-Semitic, anti-Israel or both, and it’s accepted or excused. They say things that would have gotten them shunned, kicked out of the political arena or the papers would have been chewing them up with the facts of their lies. Another place, another time.

Our wonderful Nicki and I exchanged some e-mails today talking about Moshe Feiglin, and she nailed it.

I just think it’s a sad state of our world that we actually hold men such as this as heroes. They should be the NORM. They should be the rule, not the exception, ya know?

And they did used to be, in another place, another time.

And so, someday the survivors will be gone, and then what will they (the liberals, the anti-Semites, the anti-Israel people) do? They will be confronted by me. And they will be confronted by Zelman’s Partisans, and they will be confronted by good, strong and brave people everywhere. People that seem to come from another place, another time.

Zehut, The Politics of Identity

by Sheila Stokes-Begley

When many people go to Israel, the want to see the historical sights. I do as well, especially military museums. There will most likely be a column on that. A lot of people want to eat the fabulous
food. Yes, me too. They want to shop, I’m SO there, especially when you talk about Yafo. They want to swim, did that. But what I really, really, really, really wanted to do, was interview Moshe Feiglin. At
which most tourist are probably saying “Excuse me?” But that was one of my very highest hopes for this trip. And I was successful.

I first learned about the former MK (Member of Knesset) when in response to something I had written my wonderfully kind team mate Y.B. sent me a portion of a Torah Thought from Mr. Feiglin. I loved it! I asked for more info and Y.B. told me who had written it and who he was. I did online research and signed up for the Manhigut Yehudite newsletter and was soon getting my own copies of Torah Thoughts included with each newsletter which I very much looked
forward to receiving. Each newsletter included Torah and politics. Does it get any better? Well, also a Dry Bones Cartoon. That’s pretty good too.

Last year I got to interview Mr. Feiglin by phone, and it was a great interview. This year it was in person. I feel very blessed.

So why my fascination? My respect first blossomed when he was writing articles calling for the Israeli government to make it easier for everyday Israelis to get weapons permits. Gun Control? Or Citizen Control?

With all that has been going on in Israel, I had a lot of questions for Mr. Feiglin. Especially since he along with the support of a lot of everyday people have founded a new political party. Zehut, which means “Identity”. Zehut is unusual in that they also allow people from places other than Israel to join. And with that I tell you I am a proud card carrying member. Well, I will be when my card gets here, but I am.

My first question was why form Zehut? Was it in response to the betrayal of leadership in politics? They campaign on one platform and then when elected turn and go another direction?

Feiglin: The average Israeli feels disenfranchised from their Jewish identity and the concept of a Jewish state. (I believe he said in a recent poll that 80% of Israelis identify as Jewish first, and as an Israeli second). The disenfranchisement started with the Oslo accords and now takes the form of things like a Judge appointed to the High Court who refused to sing HaTikvah, the Israeli national anthem after being sworn in. It shows in an army which is now refusing to allow soldiers to grow beards, “too much Jewish”. And very sadly when a Yad Vashem guide pointed out that the murder of Gil-Ad Shaer,16, Eyal Yifrah, 19, and Naftali Fraenkel,16 had occurred in Gush Etzion because they were Jewish. (That would seem evident to
me, but I guess political correctness can run amuck anywhere). Israel is a Jewish democratic state, but 10% controls the power and it is eroding Jewish values.

I have a few questions about everyday Israelis being allowed to carry weapons. Why are there areas where people are not allowed to have carry permits? A buddy moved from Jerusalem where he could carry, to Tel Aviv and now he can’t. He’s no less qualified in Tel Aviv. Yafo which suffered a terrorist attack is certainly within walking distance of Tel Aviv, I’ve done so! Why aren’t the military allowed to carry off duty, and why after people are out of the military can they not automatically be allowed to carry a weapon? As it turns out, the answer to all these questions are the same. Mr. Feiglin is very good at seeing the big picture and summing it up.

Feiglin: Because the concept of freedom is wrong. It should be the concept that the right of self- defense is G-d given! In Israel they believe that the right is given by the state. And if the state can give you the right to self defense, they can take that right away. In America they had the right concept, although they are losing the mindset. They believed anyone should be allowed to own guns unless they showed they were not to be trusted with them. (I pointed out that the UN does not believe self defense is a human right at all. Considering how anti-Israel the UN is, that is really not a good
combination). Zehut believes in planting in the Israeli mind the concept of true freedom. That everyone is responsible to defend their life, that of their family and the nation. Of course, there are those that oppose this. When I was in the Knesset I fought for more people to be allowed to carry. There were 150,000 people licensed to carry. But the Knesset wants to decrease that till terrorism decreases. You have the state as “Big Brother”.

What about the shooting in Hevron? (Sheila’s article on this incident) WHY is this soldier being prosecuted? Didn’t the fact that the video came from B’Tselem raise suspicions? This produced a wealth of information. This is so much more to this than a simple case of Katie Couric media malfeasance. I really think you should go read Moshe’s whole article on this topic, but here is what we covered.

Feiglin: This is a war of Israelis and Jews. It’s the soul of the Israeli, for what comes first, a concept of citizen or Jewish state. It’s been going on a long time. For the Israeli (in this comparison, sounds to me like your typical “enlightened” leftist who doesn’t have good sense about how this will play out) it’s the citizen, not Jewish state or identity. It was certainly evident when the Eichmann trial took place in Israel in 1961. A Jewish writer Hannah Arendt wrote a book, “Eichmann In Jerusalem: A Report on the Banality of Evil,”with basically the premise that Eichmann was just there, wrong place, wrong time. Can’t blame him, can’t blame anyone but Hitler. Anyone would have acted the same. Apparently some Israeli “intellectuals”
felt the need to agree.
This kind of thinking is evident in the IDF today. The former defense minister Moshe Ya’alon recently said that “If someone rises to kill you, kill him first” is not the IDF’s strategy. The Deputy Chief of Staff equated those who subscribe to that value with Nazis. He would rather lose soldiers who protect citizens than kill terrorists. There is no difference in the value of the life of a person just out doing their shopping and the terrorist that comes to kill them. Certainly had nothing to do with ideology, right? But yet today some Arabs want to kill any Jew, soldier, civilian, man, woman, child or baby, it doesn’t matter. It IS the ideology. When Arafat was sick in Ramallah I had a sign on my car that said Hurry up and kill him before he dies. For someone that had that much blood on his hands to die in his own time is immoral. For terrorists to go to trial is immoral. A healthy Jewish response is you kill the attackers. You kill the terrorists that have
declared their own war on Jews. After the soldier killed the terrorist, the stabbings stopped. He did more than all the speeches.

What about the Temple Mount, Har HaBeit? Why are the Israeli police so quick to remove Jews? One young boy was even recently removed not for saying anything but because he had tears in his eyes. And for those that wonder, yes I did express my opinion of Moshe Dayan’s decision.

Feiglin: It has to do with losing identity. We must let Jews have their identity on the Temple Mount. There are those replacing Jewish identity, and they fear what Israel will become with it’s Jewish identity. Arabs do not really have an identity so much as filled with hatred. It’s in their textbooks, their schools, mosques, social media and how they are raised. If Israel disappeared from the map, there would be no more “Palestinian”. Their reason for being would be gone. The first Zionists were colonialists from Europe, and they just wanted to be one big happy family. They didn’t understand the Arab mindset. Most Israelis are Jews first, Israeli second but they are being led by a minority that doesn’t have that mindset.

What about the Boycott, Divest and Sanction (BDS) or as I call it (BS) movement? Has it had an effect? Is it just plain anti-Semitism in increments?

Feiglin: BDS is about the delegitimizing of Israel. When did the holocaust start? (He did ask me this, and I thought for a second and answered “the night Hitler was conceived”) That was the correct answer. When Hitler spoke again and again against the Jews it had it’s effect. In 1939 or 1940 when Jews ran to their neighbors to hide, they were killed. It was about eliminating the right of Jews to exist. Israel has to attack Iran, there is a real danger of Jewish history being written in Jerusalem. Not Warsaw. It’s needed to make a moral point. There is a correlation between the speeches made in Iran 12 ½ years ago by Ahmadinejad and the delegitimization of Israel, and it’s growing.

My last question to him “We’ve had a possible Kenyan as a president, at least someone not really raised as an American, I think we should try having an Israeli for a President, would you run?”

Feiglin: I’ve been asked about the current election. My answer is it doesn’t matter which one wins. If Israel will do what is best for Israel, then all will be better.

I started this interview by telling him that I felt like I cared more about Israeli lives than some Israeli politicians did.

After talking to him, I am quite certain that is not how it is when it comes to Mr. Feiglin. He has a very sound political platform based on a Jewish identity in THE Jewish state, living by Jewish laws and principles. Laws that will protect the innocent, laws that will allow every citizen living their daily lives be it in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Be’er Sheva, Judea and Samaria to know their lives are worth defending and giving them the means to do so. It will allow the IDF to return to being the fine army it was meant to be and not a social experiment.

Zehut is a party based on knowing who we are, and what we are, and where we belong. And embracing it!

Honestly, I think there is a lesson in this for Americans as well. Because I’m very, very tired of having values that the majority of U.S. believe in being derided and told “that’s not who we are”.
Yeah, it is. And as the politicians and their compatriots in the media crank up to hype another round of gun control tripe, we would do well to remember it. It makes me think so much of “You can live
by G-d’s law or die by man’s.

I want to thank three wonderful people, Aryeh Sonnenberg who is the international director of Zehut and so warmly welcomed me when I joined. He put me in touch with Shmuel Sackett (who I got to talk with on the phone, really) who set the meeting up with Moshe. Shmuel also writes excellent articles. And I very much want to thank Moshe Feiglin for giving me an hour of his very valuable limited time. And since I often like to close with a video, this one is perfect!

Coffee and Conversation with Moshe Feiglin

Our readers are already familiar with this former member of the Israeli Knesset. He was mentioned in columns on 25 January 2015 and 7 January 2015. But for our readers to really get a flavor of what he thinks about gun control in Israel, someone needed to talk to him. I’m mean, really.

And so I did. In an effort to bring our TZP readers good investigation, I went to Israel. Ok, perhaps that’s baloney. I went because I love it and a really patient kind friend invited me to stay with her in her apartment. But as long as I was there….with a little help from a friend I landed a interview with Mr. Feiglin.

Didn’t quite go as I had hoped for a face to face interview, but when you’re only there for a few days and there is a huge list of things to do and see, you take what you can get. Yes, there was a phone interview, yes it took place in a coffee shop. In the Jerusalem bus station at the coffee shop. These babies are all over Israel, and I can do a column on my favorite coffee places in Israel if it become necessary, because man am I a happy camper over there. Along with, well, never mind, I’m digressing. So the interview took place in a coffee shop with a napkin stuck in my left ear to cut out the background noise. It was the best work around I could come up with since I was dealing with a narrow window of time.

Mr. Feiglin is very gracious. I had called his cell the day before to see about an interview. I interrupted him in a meeting. My Hebrew is good enough to apologize and ask when would be a good time I could call him. He gave me a time. I called from the bus en route to Jerusalem. Short version, I got the interview but it ended up taking place on the phone. I can roll with it.

Why do so many Israeli politicians not see that armed citizens would help with safety and security of all citizens? For example the attacks at Har Nof and bus stops? Note: for those not aware there have been several attacks where peaceful Palestinians “lost control” of their vehicles and said vehicles wound up plowing down citizens standing at bus stops and have killed some of them. And other instances where the huge knife they had hidden jumped into their hands and began to plunge itself into innocent bystanders.

His reply made my heart beat faster, probably will yours too, if you think like me. He began to explain that it has to do with the concept of freedom. That to give away freedom is a huge mistake. That disarming citizens can lead to tyranny and power grabs. That the more you centralize power the more vulnerable citizens are. He explained that every time there is a wave of violence that many politicians begin to call for increased gun control. At one time there were 300,000 Israelis that were licensed to carry weapons, today there are only 150,000 and politicians are trying to decrease that number.

Why would Israeli politicians want a disarming populace?

He replied that it is the basic concepts that they do not understand. Basic concepts such as freedom and life. Basic concepts of rights. I caught my jaw before it hit the table when he basically said that G-d gives rights, not politicians. I told him I had heard a Rabbi say that you could live by G-d’s law or die by man’s. He said that was exactly correct. He went on to explain that in the Knesset that a politician had stated that there were 13 case of licensed concealed carry holders shooting someone. I’m guessing he had a notion that statement was coming because when it did he refuted it by adding the information that of the 13, 12 of the cases were shootings by guards that had been hired by companies and schools. They were not using privately owned guns, but ones supplied by their company. What hit me on this one was apparently Israelis like their children and are willing to pursue even politically incorrect solutions to keeping them safe. As opposed to…oh well, you get the idea. He went on to state that with gangs and robbers the ceiling of security would be much better with more people carrying. Apparently the laws do not seem to stop Bedouins and Arabs from carrying weapons. My thought is they seem to use them with appalling frequency.

One thing that is different in Israel than America is the soldiers riding the buses and trains. Of course soldiers in America ride buses and trains. But in Israel they do so with their automatic weapons. And it’s a non-issue. In America politicians would have you believe that to allow a weapon on a bus or train is to invite mayhem. That those weapons will be breaking free of restraining hands and begin to fire at random, innocent targets. Israelis suffer under no such misconception. I felt just fine and dandy standing or sitting on those buses and trains. Should a terrorist be on the bus there would be something way different than disarmed victims to deal with.

Which led to my next question. Are soldiers allowed to carry concealed when they are off duty? I mean, they are the same trustworthy person they were in uniform as they are out of it.

To my somewhat surprise, they are not. He explained there is quite a chain of command question that comes into play when someone is going to discharge a weapon. The to use or not to use. Unfortunately by the time they get clearance it can be a bit late. I suggested perhaps it might be something to consider as if they were carrying the next peaceful Palestinian that aimed his car for a group that appeared to be plain civilians standing at a bus station. The budding terrorist might find quite a surprise when about 3 of the group turned out to be off duty soldiers that were carrying concealed.

While I was there a group of Ethiopians decided they would shut down Menachem Begin highway in Tel Aviv due to accusations of “racisim”. I told him about the riots of Ferguson and Baltimore where the Governor and Mayor chose not to protect the property of shop owners and lives of the Fire fighters and Police. Could Israelis defend their property and life?

Mr. Feiglin pulled back the lens even more than that. He replied that the entire world is losing the concept of freedom in the name of Democracy. He said Israel is losing it, and the younger generation will not know what they have lost. That they will not have a familiarity with what freedom really is to know they need to regain it. He is hoping that the upcoming generation of young Israelis can begin to turn this around and that Israel will come back from this. Our country? He wasn’t so hopeful. He said it may or may not come back. But he didn’t sound very optimistic. I told him that was compliments of our biased media and current educational system. He didn’t disagree.

I asked if the next time I came, would be all right to contact him for another interview. He said of course it would. And I intend to. Perhaps the next one will be the face to face interview.
