#Poway

The last two days of Pesach are observed as the first two, in that they are holidays. This means I’m not on the computer, and I’m not listening to the radio. On Shabbat I don’t anyway. On Shabbat I’m where I’m suppose to be, in Beit Knesset, Shul, my place of meeting and prayer. I’m learning, I learn from my Rabbi and from the other people there that I have grown to care about very much. I have a huge sense of gratitude every single time I walk in, whether it is for Shabbat or a class I’m taking. I learn about

G-d, his love for me, for us, and his direction manual for us to grow in our relationship with him, how he wants us to live our lives, and how to live in peace with each other. And every time I go, I realize how much more I have to learn.

So it was late Saturday evening when I logged onto my computer and saw my first notification of the shooting at another Chabad in Poway Kalifornia. Before I could read the details my mind had already flipped back to the attack at the Chabad house in Mumbai India in November 2008. Mercifully, this was not that. The song that Y.B. had me post, Vehi She Amda is part of the Pesach seder, it’s a song I love, and most days I sing it because I love it that much. I love what it says.

This attacker was a 19 year old “Bucket O’Chum” who was in nursing school. And if that doesn’t scare you, it should. He self identifies as a 19 year old Kalifornia native and a nursing student. ‘I’m just a normal dude who wanted to have a family, help and heal people, and play piano.’ He also self identifies as a human being. I would disagree with that. Around 1130 on Shabbat during the service “Chum” walked in and began shooting any and all he could. There was a family there that have moved from Israel a few years before after the rockets fired from the “Two-state solution” known as Gaza had hit their home more than once. They had lived in Sderot. Another family member visiting from Sderot managed to save his nieces and a neighbor girl despite being wounded in the leg. Little Noya was wounded by shrapnel, and her hero uncle was hit in the leg. Both will survive. He also intended to kill Rabbi Yisroel Goldstein, and although the Rabbi required surgery on both hands, and I believe lost a finger he is alive. He is alive because of his longtime friend and Chabad attendee Lori Gilbert-Kaye, 60. Lori flung herself between the killer and the Rabbi. A doctor began to perform CPR on her, when he realized it was his wife, he fainted. I can not even begin to imagine. As the Rabbi was wheeled into surgery he kept saying to let everyone know Lori saved his life.

Chum entered Chabad with a rifle, does what kind really matter? He was wearing a green vest and a helmet. He planned to stay awhile. Which might give rise to the question why is only one person dead. And in asking that, I do not mean to imply one is not significant. It is, it is one too many. From all I’ve read Lori was amazing, and it is a very significant loss not only to her family but the community as well. But you would have expected a higher death toll with the amount of preparations he seemed to have made. I have a couple of answers.

A) G-d, his gun jammed.

Authorities said the suspect’s gun may have jammed during the shooting

B) Human intervention

During the shooting, a brave off-duty border patrol agent, who was working as private security for the synagogue, fired at the shooter and chased him. Other members of the synagogue, who carried licensed concealed weapons, also went after him. Miraculously the killers’ gun jammed and he ran off. The heroes and G-d hand prevented the killer from claiming more lives.

The fact that there were armed congregants there and they went after him is not something I’ve seen brought out much.

Predictably the left began post haste to screech about gun laws. Anti-Gunners Call For Gun Control Laws Following Poway Synagogue Shooting But This Is What They’re Getting Wrong Beth Baumann has a break down on the laws already in place, or that may not have mattered at all.

And because to the left, one dead Jew isn’t enough, there is a list of the predictable responses of the usual victim disarmament crowd including Duke Nukem and Kamala Harris, who by the way, has her own gun and carry permit. Because you see that’s how elitism works. My life and family are valuable, yours aren’t. Like obamacare, we will legislate laws affecting your and your family’s life, but we will exempt ourselves from those laws. A small list is included in the “Anti-Gunner Call for Gun Control” link above. The killer ran off partly because armed members and the off duty Border Patrol agent came after him. The agent firing four shots at his car. So we can’t have armed citizens stopping a slaughter, correct progressives?

Which brings me to my next point. Progressives want to blame “right-wing” extremism and President Trump. As though Bucket O’Chum were a card carrying Republican. Nope. He hated Trump. With a vengeance because President Trump isn’t anti-Semitic. According to the manifesto he left on line, he most assuredly was not a President Trump fan. Of late, the majority of the hate is coming from Progressives, the left, and Islam. The reaction to attacks on Jews just needs to be adjusted to the situation. Rockets falling on Sdrot? Well, totally understandable, per Illan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Jewish Voice for Peace, B’Tselem, and the mainstream media, aka #FakeNews. Jews attacked in France, Sweden, Germany “it’s not muslims/islam” per the media, leftists and the politicians in those countries. Sarah Halimi is murdered by a muslim who screamed “Dirty Jewess” at her daughter, and it’s because he’s mentally incompetent. Not because he’s an islamic import to Francistan. In America people question a rise in antisemitism when obama brought in massive amounts of muslims, dumped them in places where they could be a majority and more easily enter political office. Yes, I’m talking about the ungrateful Somali “refugee” Omar. Or they can shoot unarmed yoga teachers and then have the mayor do a press conference wearing a hijab to show support for the Somali community. Not making that up. Obama-hack Jonathan Greenblatt, now head of the Anti-Defamation League has turned it in to a “dime store Southern Poverty Law Center”, and uses his position to blame the right. And who do Jews overwhelmingly vote for?

The left and its comrades in the mainstream media have taken the Jewish vote for granted for years. Jews are one of the most reliable constituencies of the Democratic Party. A CNN poll last fall found that nearly 80 percent of Jews voted Democratic in the midterm elections. Only 17 percent voted Republican. Yet anti-Semitism on the left in the U.S. has increased recently, including in the media.

And speaking of the media, and all the news that’s fit to lie about, The New York Slimes #FakeNews is becoming more brazen in their antisemitism having recently published a cartoon of President Trump, blind and wearing a kippah being led by a dog with a Magan David collar and Benjamin Netanyahu’s face. They finally removed it after a large outcry. Know what I find somewhat interesting? I’ve yet to see the name of the “cartoonist”. If it was a conservative that had done such a thing, their name, picture and family history back to the Mayflower would be all over the net by now. Say, where’s Omar Barghouti about now? Did the Slimes hire him?

So why did the Bucket O’Chum do this? Why the attack?

Like Tarrant in his own writings, the manifesto author states that his end goal is to prompt the U.S. government to begin confiscating guns, predicting that a civil war will ensue. The author said he had been planning the attack for four weeks.

Obviously a Duke Nukem supporter.

As long as we don’t look at this honestly, as long as people continue to embrace the big government control of citizens offered by people like #LipstickLenin-Cortez, this will continue. Because excuses are being made for the left, to more easily blame the right.

I admit, I’m having a very hard time with this. I’m trying to understand and make some sense of it. I know I need to work towards something a Rabbi I very much admire wrote,

The solution therefore is to a. Love!

b. a practical mechanism which has helped many is the implementing of the sage advice of the Jewish masters, such as:

1. When you wake up in the morning (as the first thought influences the rest of the day) Express Gratitude (and as research shows, gratitude culminates in hope and happiness)

2. Forgive nightly (yes, before you go to bed – the first part of our bedtime prayers is: we forgive everyone.)

and thinking about the bar scene in the Chuck Norris movie Code of Silence. There are naughty naughty words in here.

When those that hate and come to kill are met with that kind of a response (without the naughty words) from a hard target things will change. I believe and understand there is a purpose to everything in G-d’s world, but I want to see beautiful souls like Lori Gilbert-Kaye around for a long time, to mentor other women, and continue making the world more beautiful. I want to see people like Almog Peretz who saved the children have a beautiful visit and only happy memories of his Pesach in America. We are not cowards, look at Lori and Almog’s responses. What courage! Which is good, because it’s going to take courage, clarity, wisdom and honesty to admit what the left is offering is not our friend.

For now, all I know to do is pray for healing. And that more places of worship will begin to consider armed security among their attendees.

Oregon Firearms Federation vs Oregon Ceasefire. Who is antisemitic?

A week or so ago one of our Zelman Partisans facebook readers sent me a copy of a letter from Oregon ceasefire, a victim disarmament group.

Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day, today I shall address the situation.

Letter from Oregon Ceasefire

I had seen an alert from Oregon’s Firearms Federation about the mask being off, but I hadn’t been aware of other very serious things that were going on with this gun rights organization. But after I read the letter from Oregon Ceasefire, my eyes were opened! It seems Oregon Firearms Federation is antisemitic according to Oregon Ceasefire! I am shocked an appalled. Antisemitism is one the rise everywhere, from Jews in Francistan that can no longer wear a Kippah in public safely to the US where two muslim women have been elected to congress. One of whom supports BDS and has made antisemitic tweets about “Israel hypnotizing the world” and the other has covered up the one Jewish state on her map with the name of a country created in 1964, same year as the Beatles by the way. Indeed, this charge of a Second Amendment rights group being antisemitic needed investigation! So, I did.

I wrote both groups, and asked what incident lead to such a charge?

I wrote Oregon Firearms Federation first. Please note, I’m not a reporter, I’m a columnist and so I have no guilt over telling them to keep up the good work.

Email to Oregon Firearms Federation

Within a minute after I wrote Oregon Ceasefire.

Letter to Oregon Ceasefire

It’s a few days later now, I’ve heard back from Oregon Firearms Federation(OFF), I have not heard back from Oregon Ceasefire.

It seems according to Oregon Firearms Federation the charge was prompted by a page that OFF had on their web site.

https://www.oregonfirearms.org/michael-z-cahana-memorial-page

Ah! Indeed the images are horrific. Horrible images of the Holocaust, please G-d may such a thing never happen again. A sane person would never want to see such images mar the pages of history. If you have a pipe freeze and break in your house due to a air leak that can reach a pipe (speaking from experience here) one would do their best to assure that such conditions will not re-occur by sealing the leak. They would not get a hammer and enlarge the hole. But then I’m me, and the hole got sealed. Oregon Ceasefire is not me. They choose to grab that hammer. It’s worth noting that when Oregon Firearms Federation emailed me back, they informed me that the page had been up for months, and apparently in an attempt to get their name back in the news, Oregon Ceasefire notified the media who promptly called the “experts” in their Rolodex that will recite what they want to hear. But please note that the Rabbi in question Michael Z Cahana has 180 degree different opinion on these matters than another Rabbi Kahane, who’s motto was “Every Jew a .22”. Rabbi Meir Kahane HY’’D הי״ד to be exact. So Rabbi Cahana in favor of defenseless victims, most certainly does not speak for us all.

But back to the matter at hand, one of the pieces of legislation, victim disarmament if you want to call it what it is, is SB0501 according to OFF.

Alrighty, now let’s take a look at some actual nazi (no, they still don’t get capital letters) gun laws.

Straight from the Book “Gun Control” Gateway to Tyranny. Let’s have a look-see, shall we? See if anything looks familiar. Remembering that the Gun Control Act of 1968 was based on nazi weapons control laws of 1938, Sen. Chris Dodd’s -D daddy Sen. Thomas Dodd -D had a copy of the nazi weapons laws that he had translated. It was on those laws that he based his gun control act.

So, Page 52

And last, page 81.

As Aaron points out in the book, these gun control laws are immoral. Because they treat the law abiding citizen in this manner as a reaction to acts committed by criminals. Torah absolutely supports self-defense. Too many blather “Thou shalt not kill”. NO, and more no. It says “Thou shalt not MURDER”. Not the same thing.

So the virtue signaling Oregon Ceasefire chooses to ignore (or never learned) history. Let’s do a brief recap shall we?

How the Nazis Used Gun Control

In 1931, Weimar authorities discovered plans for a Nazi takeover in which Jews would be denied food and persons refusing to surrender their guns within 24 hours would be executed. They were written by Werner Best, a future Gestapo official. In reaction to such threats, the government authorized the registration of all firearms and the confiscation thereof, if required for “public safety.” The interior minister warned that the records must not fall into the hands of any extremist group.

In 1933, the ultimate extremist group, led by Adolf Hitler, seized power and used the records to identify, disarm, and attack political opponents and Jews. Constitutional rights were suspended, and mass searches for and seizures of guns and dissident publications ensued. Police revoked gun licenses of Social Democrats and others who were not “politically reliable.”

During the five years of repression that followed, society was “cleansed” by the National Socialist regime. Undesirables were placed in camps where labor made them “free,” and normal rights of citizenship were taken from Jews. The Gestapo banned independent gun clubs and arrested their leaders. Gestapo counsel Werner Best issued a directive to the police forbidding issuance of firearm permits to Jews.

Disarmament of the German Jews

Hitler and Gun Control

On October 4, 1938, Nazi police arrested one Alfred Flatow in Berlin. His crime: being a Jew in lawful possession of a firearm. Lawful because he had dutifully registered his guns in January 1932, complying with the pre-Hitler anti-firearm decrees of the Weimar Republic. The arresting police were probably unaware that Flatow won Gold and Silver medals for Germany in the 1896 Olympics. He had also served in the German army in the 1890s.

….

The Nazis also moved to control others who possessed weapons. Despite protests, the government banned all voluntary “shooting clubs” (Schuetzenvereine) in Germany. These clubs were popular forms of recreation across the nation, and many club leaders opposed the ban and even expressed objections to the Nazi government. As Hitler was rapidly centralizing and broadening his powers, he dissolved all local and independent shooting and sports clubs on May 10, 1933. Two weeks later, he created the Nazi-controlled German Shooting Sport Association (Deutscher Schiesssportverband), which became another mouthpiece for the Nazi government and, with war on the horizon, a source of males already trained in marksmanship.

So many of the laws advocated by Oregon Ceasefire have been implemented. What did that lead to?

I’ll let the witnesses tell you themselves.

First up, Eta Wrobel, a truly amazing woman. She wasn’t doing dishes either, or cleaning the camp. Eta was a modern day Devorah, leading battles.

Next we have Sonia Orbach.

What does Sonia have to say about this?

Why oh why does it have to get to the point you need two hand grenades? Why can’t tyrants just fear to attack citizens? Why would a woman even think like this?

Oh, that’s why.

These are far from the only two female partisans. There is a little film clip on some of them.

I understand that part of the reason Oregon Ceasefire reached out to Der Stürmer, the media was because they are losing relevance since Michael Bloomberg began shoveling money into Mad Mommies, his favorite astro-turf group. So, if all guns are evil and people will be safer if they are all banned he will no doubt be glad when that happy day comes right? Um, no. Seems Bloomberg is a elitist hypocrite.

Alumnus, major donor Michael Bloomberg wants private, armed police force patrolling Johns Hopkins University

“When you have a city that has the murder rate that Baltimore has, I think it’s ridiculous to think that they shouldn’t be armed,” Bloomberg said of the Hopkins security force.

….

A group of Hopkins students called Students Against Private Police expressed dissatisfaction with Bloomberg’s remarks. In a statement, the group said Bloomberg’s support for a private, armed police force is at odds with his other work to promote gun control

Just an FYI: The Bloomberg School of Public Health is located at John Hopkins. There moulders the academic wing of Bloomberg’s Center for Gun Policy and Research, anti-self defense, of course.

I’m actually shocked, I mean Baltimore has a Demoncrat Mayor a very strict gun control as it is. Why on earth is Bloomberg worried about high crime?

Michael Bloomberg, to quote Aaron Zelman, is a “Bagel brain”.

So, in conclusion. Is Oregon Firearms Federation antisemitic? No. They oppose laws that enabled the brutality of the Holocaust, and if you’ve forgotten just how brutal it was, or never learned, that page reminds you. A post on my Zehut list mentioned a poll conducted by Schoen Consulting found that 11% of all US adults and 22% of millennials haven’t ever heard of the Holocaust. Perhaps Oregon Ceasefire is one of them.

Is Oregon Ceasefire Antisemitic? I think so. If you can compare what they are advocating with what nazi Germany had for gun laws and the persist in doing so, I would say yes they are. I believe as you look at the rise of antisemitism world wide it’s imperative that Jews learn to shoot and be ready to do so.

To that end I reached out to one of my favorite groups, Cherev Gidon. In the wake of the Pittsburgh Synagogue attack they came on my radar. I asked a simple question, Why do you do what you do? Why are you teaching Jews and others to shoot and how to defend themselves?

Yonatan, director and founder was kind enough to answer me.

Cherev Gidon Israeli Tactical Training Academy exists for the purpose of training American Jews with Israeli combat shooting skills, so that every American Jewish community will be well armed and professionally trained with the ability to mount an effective defense against any violent attack on any Jewish community (as we saw in Pittsburgh). Our goal is to have each and every American Jew carrying a firearm with them to synagogue (and everywhere they go), so that never again will any Jew fall victim to antisemitic violence. Thankfully, our program has become incredibly popular recently, and we are actively achieving our goal of making those communities hard targets. We are currently expanding to different regions and communities across the US as a result of the unprecedented demand and we hope to be able to make our training programs easily accessible to all Jews, no matter what part of the country they live in.

And do you know what? This

A simple flowchart

Everyone has flowcharts, companies have them, to perform CPR there is a flowchart, to fix a car there is a flowchart, to diagnose illness or even make financial decisions, there’s a flowchart.

So I decided I needed to make us a little flowchart. It’s another one of those things where I see two things that fit together, well, in my mind.

First off we have this story about a 25 year old woman. She was alone at a bus stop minding her own business in essentially gun free, so crime free Chicago. Or, as some call is Chi-raq.

Residents are praising the 25 year-old woman, with a concealed carry license, who shot and killed a man who was trying to rob her at a bus stop.

Surveillance video shows the woman waiting alone at a bus stop at 103rd and Wallace around 5:45 a.m. Tuesday. Police say a 19-year-old man, in a light colored hoodie, pulled a gun on the woman in an attempt to rob her.

She pulled out her own gun and shot him in the neck.

How’s about that! So that made it all the more interesting when I saw this cartoon on facebook the other day. My buddy Chris puts up great stuff. Then I’ve been watching Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries. It’s set in 1920s Australia, before it was a gun free paradise. Back when women could defend themselves. This was the first one I watched called I believe “Cocaine Blues”. Costumes are beautiful, very elegant, the cars are amazing and the music is swell. The stories are great, when watching the first one it hit me! A flowchart. A simple flowchart to determine if you value women’s lives. To be fair, it can be anyone’s life, but all these stories involve women. Apples to apples don’t you know?

So without further ado, my first flowchart.

DO YOU BELIEVE WOMEN’S LIVES HAVE  VALUE?

Where Does Evil Live?

I had an interesting discussion with a girlfriend of mine the other day. I made the statement I thought someone was evil. She disagreed and said she didn’t think people were evil, some just made bad choices, even appalling choices. But people weren’t evil.

Yeah, I think they are. I watched a show the other night that talked about Nellie May Madison. Born in 1895, Nellie was an interesting lady. Raised on a ranch in Montana she learned to shoot, ride and survive in the wild from a young age. She was also the first woman in California sentenced to death for the murder of her husband. Nellie’s first set of lawyers did her no favors, and she got a judge determined to make an example of her. Luckily for her, she had a lawyer as one of her ex-husbands and he persuaded her to get a different lawyer and appeal. When the legendary Aggie Underwood got involved her sentence was commuted and eventually she was paroled. So why did she kill her husband (other than some people just need killing)? She could have been one of the first #MeToo people as well as the first woman on death row. Her husband had a nasty tendency to marry women, then abuse them, pick up teenage hookers, force his wives to write letters that they had been unfaithful because back then that was a sure way to win in court and then beat them. When Nellie held a gun on him and told him to give the letter back, he pulled a box of knives out from under the bed, told her he’d cut her heart out and flung a couple of the knives at her. He missed. She didn’t. But he had seemed so charming when she met him. Snappy dresser, nice car and treated her well. Pretty much the same thing his first wife said. He was really nice, till he wasn’t.

There are a lot of documentaries and crime shows with the topic of people that seemed to be kind, compassionate wonderful people. And how shocked people were when the found out that John Wayne Gacy , Bob Berdella, Samuel Little and the very charming Ted Bundy killed people. Stories of how people had been taken in by someone that seemed wonderful only to lose family members to them, or to be hauled into the police station to see when they knew about the neighborhood rapes, murders, thefts, whatever. These people didn’t see the traits, if they saw them they didn’t recognize what they were and if the did see the signs and suspect they tamped down their uneasiness and stifled their fears. And sometimes they had fears of their own and were unable to do anything useful, such as calling police, due to those.

FBI murder statistics 2017

So, when I think of evil, I think of someone who takes pleasure in hurting others in some form or fashion. I think of someone who has no empathy for others, and only sees people as someone who will help them get what they want, or is preventing or standing in the way of them getting something they want. Which is part of what got me to thinking about psychopaths. There are differences between psychopaths and sociopaths.

And if you’re really curious, this video explains a lot.

It’s frightening to realize that even if you get away from a psychopath they can have had a very detrimental effect on your life, your bank account, your friendships, your job.

Again, victims usually do not understand what is occurring until it is too late. The psychopath may have already launched smear campaigns, taken unfounded legal action, and manipulated those the victim cares about, simply for sport. Once the victims begin sharing their stories with others, the people to whom they tell these stories, often cannot believe what they are hearing. It is common for others to be in disbelief, either because they perceive the victim as an unlikely candidate for targeting or abuse, or because the stories can seem so inherently unlikely that it may be difficult, at first, to believe they are true.

Because they are very convincing, and excellent at lying. The psychopath doesn’t really have a conscience, while the sociopath does, but it’s small and ineffective.

Why are the always usually successful? Because they are really, really good at picking their victims.

The sad thing is, most of us have traits that make us susceptible. Things like compassion, extroverted or introverted, sensitivity to the feelings of others, “go with the flow” attitude, competitive or sentimentality are all traits that can be exploited by someone with “antisocial personality disorder”, the comprehensive phrase for both psychopath and sociopath.

Several of the sites I did some reading on advise trusting your instincts, but sadly a lot can happen before the warning bell goes off it seems.

But what really got me to thinking about this, is a couple of the stories I’ve put up on social media for The Zelman Partisans recently about how the grabby giffords crew and the elitist Michael Bloomberg have been pushing the “red flag” laws, extreme order of protection in different states. They confiscate first and ask questions later. If you’re still alive after the confiscation. Maryland Red Flag Gun Confiscation Order Ends with Dead Gun Owner.

While some of those with “antisocial personality disorder” may not be violent, some obviously are. And now the criminal protection bunch have made it even easier. They don’t need to disarm the victims themselves, they just make a phone call and the law will do it for them.

You know, I believe I’m in favor of a law allowing civil lawsuits against the sponsor of such legislation when they result in a death. Like waiting periods cost Carol Browne her life because the restraining order only made her a target. So yes, I think we need legislation that when a civilian disarming law is passed, that those harmed by it are allowed to sue the sponsor and co-sponsor of such legislation. I realize it’s probably a pipe dream, but hey! If it saves just one life.

Signs of Hope

I get a weekly newsletter from Rabbi Johnathan Sacks called Covenant and Conversation, this week’s edition is about The Courage of Persistence. It’s always about the Parashat for the week. This week is Toldot. In this newsletter he talks about anti-semitic attacks in the Parashat. When the Philistines filled in the wells of Avraham for example. But a lot of it talks about the dichotomy of antisemitism.

As he points out in Amy Chau’s book World on Fire

Her thesis is that any conspicuously successful minority will attract envy that may deepen into hate and provoke violence. All three conditions are essential. The hated group must be conspicuous, for otherwise it would not be singled out. It must be successful, for otherwise it would not be envied. And it must be a minority, for otherwise it would not be attacked.

He further points out: Hostility to Jews becomes dangerous, she argued, not when Jews are strong, but when they are weak. This is along the lines of what Moshe Feiglin said in his column after the Synagogue shooting in Squirrel Hill.

But there is something more, deeper than the economic factor, which makes us partially responsible for what happened in Pittsburgh. Jewish history is being written today in the Land of Israel. It is clear to all of us that anti-Israel sentiments are the new expression of Anti-Semitism. When Israel is sure of itself, strikes its enemies as it did in the Six Day War, eliminates the hijackers as in Entebbe – the level of anti-Semitism decreases!!! And when Israel displays lack of self-assurance, temporariness, moral flaccidity – a feeling that we are not really on the map, that we are nothing more than colonialists acting only for the sake of self-defense, begging the Hamas for a cease-fire – then our enemies feel that they are just and anti-Semitism flourishes.

Rabbi Sacks continues on,

Antisemitism is a complex, protean phenomenon because antisemites must be able to hold together two beliefs that seem to contradict one another: Jews are so powerful that they should be feared, and at the same time so powerless that they can be attacked without fear.

It would seem that no one could be so irrational as to believe both of these things simultaneously. But emotions are not rational, despite the fact that they are often rationalised, for there is a world of difference between rationality and rationalisation (the attempt to give rational justification for irrational beliefs).

So, for example, in the twenty-first century we can find that (a) Western media are almost universally hostile to Israel, and (b) otherwise intelligent people claim that the media are controlled by Jews who support Israel: the same inner contradiction of perceived powerlessness and ascribed power.

He shows another way that the current situation in Gaza where the peaceful Falestinians so love the land of Israel and long to return to it that they are bombing, setting fire and trying to destroy it.

There is a second aspect of our passage that has had reverberations through the centuries: the self-destructive nature of hate. The Philistines did not ask Isaac to share his water with them. They did not ask him to teach them how he (and his father) had discovered a source of water that they – residents of the place – had not. They did not even simply ask him to move on. They “stopped up” the wells, “filling them with earth.” This act harmed them more than it harmed Isaac. It robbed them of a resource that would, in any case, have become theirs, once the famine had ended and Isaac had returned home.

But in the wake of the shooting at Squirrel Hill, I’ve been hopeful. Why? Because some are beginning to see that self-defense, and defense of others is necessary and right.

As Dave Kopel points out in his excellent paper on The Torah And Self-Defense

This last sentence is sometimes translated as “If someone comes to kill you, rise up and kill him first.”

This final sentence does not delegate discretion; it is a positive command. A Jew has a duty to use deadly force to defend herself against murderous attack.

Emphasis mine. It is our duty and a positive mitzvah to defend ourselves!

Returning to something in Rabbi Sack’s newsletter, “Jews are so powerful that they should be feared, and at the same time so powerless that they can be attacked without fear.”

Ahh, but these times they are a changing.

Then there is CAMP JABOTINSKY, they seem to have been around awhile. Just an FYI, my baby Shimshon’s middle name is Zev, after Zev Jabotinsky. It’s fitting, it means “Wolf”.

Rabbis offered free AR-15 rifles by Colorado gun shop. Four claimed them, owner says

This made me a little sad, as did this comment at the end of the article.

“I think he absolutely is generous in what he wants to do,” Ader said. “I think he wants to help and is very well intentioned. It just isn’t for us.”

Arming people, Ader told the TV station, “is a preventative measure, it is not part of the solution at all. The solution is civil discourse.”

I absolutely know he is entitled to his own opinion, but I don’t think he realizes yet that there are people out there that want to kill you, your congregation and there is not one thing civil or un that you are going to say to them to have a dialogue.

Ahh, yes. These times they are a changing. It doesn’t matter how you want to dress that pig up.

Anti-Zionism IS Anti-Semitism

It’s still anti-semitism, it goes way back, it is unreasoning and it’s lethal. It is also much, much harder to implement if the target of your irrational hatred is armed and realizes they have a duty to protect themselves, their families and their community.

A friend of mine asked me after the shooting, “Why didn’t someone shoot the man? Why didn’t they stop him”? I pointed out I didn’t know the gun laws in Pittsburgh, but I rather suspected that being big city on the east coast perhaps they have pretty strict gun control and they had been legislated out of their right to self-defense, and therefore, their right to live. This is what happens when you elect big government, people controlling leftists.

Perhaps the new members of the Second Amendment community will begin to understand a big part of the Second Amendment is fighting to keep it because there are most certainly those that prefer an unarmed populace.

Should I mention the 80th anniversary of Kristallnacht is tonight?

Responsibility

I’ve been thinking about this the past few days. Last week I changed the battery in my pickup, went to a home improvement store and bought some things to make a Sukkah for Sukkot. I brought my supplies home, unloaded and set about building the sukkah with my handy pink drill, and a few other supplies. My greenery was already to go on the roof since I had cut down a evergreen tree and then cut off the branches. As I was doing all this, I was thanking G-d for having blessed me with the Dad he did. Dad never really treated me like “girls don’t do chainsaws, girls don’t work on cars, girls don’t _____” If I wanted to learn, Dad taught me. He also taught me the stuff he thought everyone should know how to do like change a tire. My parents took responsibility for me as a child, they raised me and trained me as best they could. When I became an adult, the responsibility for my behavior and choices fell on me.

When I decided I wanted to keep a gun in the house, Dad and I had a long talk about it. A very long talk about it, the responsibility it entailed and an idea of what would happen to my life if I ever had to kill an intruder. And then he loaned me one until he found what he felt would be a good one for me.

I ran across a couple of stories the other day that made me think about my folks in that capacity. One was about a older sister that had been out with her little brother practicing elk calls. I guess they must have sounded pretty good because on the way home the 16 year old girl saw a cougar about 3 yards from her 6 year old little brother. She told the brother to run to her and she shot the cougar behind the ear with an arrow. The cougar ran off and the kids made it home. The family dog and Dad went out with an AR-15, the ones with no defensive purpose, and killed the cougar. Apparently the parents believe in actually raising children and teaching them useful things, as opposed to say, just having children.

Another was of a 12 year old boy who used a Ruger .44 magnum lever-action rifle to protect his Mom from yet another domestic violence assault. There had been 5 previous calls to the residence for domestic violence none of which had ever resulted in charge. The say the 12 year old will most likely not be charged for defending his Mom. I’m thinking 5 calls? FIVE calls and no charges? Really?

This actually does happen in the real world, children using weapons to defend themselves or their families from nature’s miscreants, both two and four legged.

John Lott has a list of stories of such incidents.

And then of course, we should all remember the case of Jessica Carpenter. When government gun control cost innocent lives.

Fear stalks Merced, California — fear of the government. Because of that fear, two innocent children died needlessly, victims of California’s “safe storage” gun laws. The mass media never told Americans what really happened in Merced. But the tale of the Merced Pitchfork Murders will not die.

See, those parents had taken responsibility for raising their children, those children knew how to handles guns safely. It was the state and a murderer that killed those children because they were unable to get to the one tool that could have saved their lives. California has mandatory safe storage.

The gun is inanimate, a tool its use in the hand. The death of a child is tragic, be it by gun, pitchfork, knife, swimming pool or attack by wild pigs. But it’s up to the parents to educate the children about guns, not toys, safe handling. That requires responsibility on the part of the parent and child.

I don’t know that this is the best web page ever on gun safety for children, but it’s pretty good.

It’s a responsibility thing. And it works best when parents and children know their responsibilities and carry them out.

At the other end of the spectrum of the “I have children” vs “I’m raising my children” are the people that are trying to take on tasks that really aren’t within their purview. Not withing the “scope” of their “practice” shall we say. Yeah, I’m kind of cracking myself up here with my humor.

Fair warning here, the source on this article is cnn #FakeNews, so you can take it for what it’s worth. But since they are obviously sympathetic to the point of view it’s what they want to put across anyway.

Fitting the narrative

Why your doctor wants to talk about guns

Your doctor already talks to you about sex, drugs and alcohol, but should they talk to you about guns, too? A newly-formed coalition of healthcare providers thinks so — and patient intervention is just one part of their plan to reduce what they call an “epidemic” of gun violence.

The organization, Scrubs Addressing the Firearm Epidemic, known as SAFE, is demanding an increase in federal funding for gun violence research, and is calling on lawmakers to implement “evidence-based policy” on guns.

At more than 30 medical schools across the country last week, students and physicians wore scrubs with SAFE’s bright red logo as they held demonstrations at their hospitals. According to Sarabeth Spitzer, a fourth-year medical student at Stanford who spearheaded the campaign, the group distributed about 2,700 of the special scrubs “to show the overwhelming consensus of health care providers that firearm violence is a public health crisis.”

Well Miss Sarabeth, heavens above please don’t ever let it be Dr. Sarabeth, there is indeed a medical crisis. And you in your little “special” scrubs aren’t doing diddly squat about it. You and your little sullen looking crew are all hat and no cattle. Seriously, look at the picture in the linked article. They all look either constipated or like little #MoneyHogg clones. Another great reason to look at the picture is if one of the little darlings ever walks into your treatment room you will know to request another doctor, a real one. One that is actually concerned about medicine. Because these knuckleheads aren’t.

Gee, here is a medical issue within their scope (stethoscope) of “practice”.

Medical Malpractice Deaths over 500 Times Higher than Accidental Gun Deaths

Medical malpractice deaths in the U.S. are over 500 times higher than accidental gun deaths.

A Johns Hopkins University study covering eight years of data found there are at least 250,000 malpractice deaths in the U.S. annually. CNBC reports the Johns Hopkins University study presents malpractice deaths on the low end, since other studies show malpractice deaths exceeding 400,000 a year.

On the other hand, accidental gun deaths hover around 500 a year.

For example, the Los Angeles Times reports there were 489 accidental gun deaths in 2015, making medical malpractice deaths over 500 times higher than deaths resulting from accidental firearm discharges.

The number of overall gun deaths in 2015—accidental, homicides, and suicides—was approximately 36,000, two-thirds of which were suicides. So 250,000 malpractice deaths is nearly seven times higher than gun deaths, even when counting intentional gun deaths.

Gee Miss Sarabeth and Co. this sort of thing doesn’t even seem to be on your radar!

So let old Auntie Sheila help you out a little bit here. GSW, Gunshot wounds, I don’t care if they are self inflicted, inflicted by the neighborhood gang banger, your spouse, your ex-spouse, your ex-spouse’s boyfriend, your ex-spouse’s girlfriend, your second cousin twice removed, you little sister, your little brother, your teacher, your teacher’s uncle, your teacher’s uncle’s dog, are all pretty much going to involve the same treatment protocols, and appear pretty much the same.

When I was in school I met a guy that had the same last name as mine, only he was in Doctor school. He’s the first one I ever heard use the phrase M. Deity complex, doctors that think they are G-d. He didn’t have it, and we wound up being good buddies.

I rather suspect Miss Sarabeth and friends are severely afflicted with M. Deity complex. I know how my buddy, and many of the other residents clawed their way through their residency phases and school and I’m unsure what it is Miss Sarabeth and Co. think they can afford to leave out to study more about the epidemic of gun violence, or perhaps she would like to extend the residency period? Do that Sarabeth, just do that, extend the residency period by a year or so. Let us know how living in hiding works out for you. And yes, I do want fries with that Southwest Salad.

Because whatever you do, don’t let that malpractice stat cause you to stop trying to shred the Constitution and affect my G-d given rights with your social justice drama. #BadMedicine

Hand ‘em out like candy

Is there perhaps a positive change in the wind for beleaguered Israeli citizens? For several months now they have endured rockets being shot at them from the “two state solution” known as Gaza. Gaza was a fairly prosperous area prior to Israel withdrawing from the area and the citizens of Gaza electing hamass. They’ve endure rockets, bombs, firebombs, rocks, snipers, falcons being murdered by having devices attached to them so they could set more of Israel on fire than they could reach with a fire kite. All because they love the land so much they feel compelled to burn it all. There was recently a demonstration in Tel Aviv by the citizens of communities located near Gaza. They feel the government is doing enough/much/anything (circle the correct answer) to protect them.

The protesters shouted “the government must wake up – the south is burning” and “we are not cannon fodder.” They carried signs reading “the south is burning” and “we are tired of burned fields, we are tired of our children crying.”

They have darn good reason to think this way. In Orwellian double speak worthy of Yasser Arafat’s taqiyya of saying he wanted peace then explaining to the ticked off arabs he was just saying that for political reason we have this

After 250 rockets from Gaza hit Israeli locations, one a heavy Grad, Israel’s security cabinet meeting Thursday, Aug. 9, directed the IDF to continue to pursue “powerful action against terrorist forces.” This was tantamount to a decision against a major Israeli military campaign against Hamas at this time, while instead carrying on with tit-for-tat air strikes as before, and leaving the targeted communities to their despair. Some 19 people were injured in the last two days. Hamas is therefore still allowed to call the shots, exactly as it has done in the last four months, while inflicting in Israel diverse brands of terror.

The daily attacks by other arabs continue with stabbings, pro-tip, quit giving the bodies back. They don’t give Israelis back their slain. Arabs hold a big funeral, and a bunch more of them crawl out from under rocks and come into Israel to try to get money and fame by killing Israelis.

Chum Bucket, 31, approached several police officers near the Temple Mount on Friday afternoon. He tried to stab one of them with a knife before being shot dead by the officers who were at the scene.

If he’s going to attack armed police do you think he will hesitate to attack who he thinks is an unarmed vulnerable Israeli?

And he’s not the only one.

Israel Police on Wednesday said that a terror attack in Jerusalem was foiled last week.

In a statement, Israel Police said that officers operating in Jerusalem’s Old CIty noticed a suspicious individual and detained him. Upon searching the suspect, the officers found a knife and tear gas.

The suspect is a 26-year-old Arab resident of Hevron. He was immediately arrested and taken to the police station, where he was interrogated.

The criminals of course are armed, so gun control is working great there.

Police suspect the target of this morning’s shooting at a vehicle in Tel Aviv’s Kikar Hamedina Square was Ben Cohen, a criminal known to police.

Shots were fired from a scooter passing the vehicle where Cohen sat. No one was hurt and massive police forces were called to the scene.

Things are getting so serious the UN, which does not believe in the human right to self-defense, is thinking about getting involved. United Nations: Peacekeeping could protect Gazans from Israel

Are you kidding me?? Forget about Israel and the IDF you ignorant blow-hards. How about doing something about this? NIS 1 million deducted from PA transfers over torture. Need I mention they are torturing their own people. Or this little detail IDF foils Gazan infiltration attempt. Dead Jews do not concern the UN. Remember that, plan accordingly.

So, for the good news.

Public Safety Minister Gilead Erdan eased gun restrictions since armed civilians on the scene often help the police contain terrorist attacks and reduce casualties – especially in “lone wolf” incidents.”

But wait, what if your government doesn’t think your life is worth what you and your family think you life is worth. What if for example you were Elor Azariya? This case has been well covered on TZP if you have any questions just search using the little search tool on the right.

Well, we don’t have to “what if”. He applied, he was denied and the injustice continues. Apparently a James Comey (Israel version) works in the Police Department. The media knew Elor had been denied before he did. The man applied because his life was in danger, and it was in danger originally because of the liberal left being in full control of the legal process.

Terrorists do not hesitate to attack armed soldiers, police or guards. They most certainly will not hesitate to attack presumably disarmed Israeli citizens.

Palestinian youth on a stabbing rampage murders an Israeli man, injures two

A 17-year old terrorist climbed the security fence into the Adam community north of Jerusalem Thursday night, July 26, and slashed one victim after another.  Yotam Ovadia, an Israeli man of 31, whom he repeatedly stabbed, died soon after from multiple wounds, a second man, aged 58, was badly hurt and a third though injured managed to pull his gun and shoot the killer dead. The terrorist came from the nearby Palestinian village of Kobar. He must have studied the electronic fence in advance, because he was able to climb over without triggering the sensors for an alarm.

And in the end, it was a good guy with a gun that stopped the carnage. The security fence didn’t stop them, guards didn’t stop them, patrols didn’t stop them. A good guy with a gun stopped him.

Don’t be stingy Erdan, hand those gun permits out like candy.

Feelin’ Triggered

It seems that recently Fredericka Whitfield, a cnn #FakeNews anchor had a segment talking about the school shooting in Florida. The one where the FIB ignored tips and the police never followed through on the myriad of calls they had on Bucket O-Chum. So guess who they had on as a SENIOR analyst? Yep, an FIB dude. Some guy named Tom Fuentes. Tom is everything cnn #FakeNews would want in a senior analyst and everything we would expect in a cnn analyst. Tom thinks female teachers are incapable of carrying concealed.

From the transcript:

And then the fact that they have the gun come out when the uniformed police arrive and do what they’re supposed to do, run in, they’re liable to get killed because all the police are going to see is someone waving a gun around and they’re coming into an active shooter situation. So, you know, that adds to the danger.

And then one of the things that people don’t talk about, a lot of these schools — Sandy Hook had an all-female faculty from principal to teachers. And for a woman, where are you going to hide that gun during the day? You can’t put it in your desk drawer, somebody might steal it and you can’t get to it.

You’re not going to have it in a safe in the principal’s office, you can’t get to it. On your person, hiding it — if you wear a dress, if you wear a skirt, are you going to have to wear a jacket every day with a belt and a holster the way a detective, you know, on duty would do?

It’s not a real practical solution even for a variety of reasons much less being adept is more than just pulling the trigger and making the bullet go down range.

WHITFIELD: Right. And the comfort level, all of that. You know, so many teachers have arms open. They want to hug their kids. I remember that from my school teachers. And certainly that would present a real problem of where exactly to put the gun if it comes to that.

FUENTES: Oh, yes. The kids are going to be “hey, Miss Jones, are you packing?” I mean it’s just not a good situation for it.

WHITFIELD: All right. We’ll have you back. Tom Fuentes — thank you so much. Appreciate it.

Let’s start with that “waving a gun around” part. Apparently since Tom is former FIB, that type of behavior must be de rigueur for the FIB. When they aren’t running guns to Mexico. He must think armed citizens behave that way. We don’t. Tom has seen one too many movies apparently, I don’t care if they were training films telling the FIB how we, the unwashed masses behave. We don’t. We apparently behave far better than the FIB, since I wouldn’t, and don’t personally know concealed carry people that would behave in such a manner.

Shall we move on to the for a woman, where are you going to hide that gun during the day part?

I know, hard to believe this is a serious question. But like little Julie Bandaras from FOX who apparently doesn’t know anyone who has every bought a gun legally, this idiot doesn’t know any women who are smart enough to be prepared protect themselves.

It reminds me of the story of the Pauline Kael political quote.

In December 1972, a month after U.S. President Richard Nixon was reelected in a landslide victory, Kael gave a lecture at the Modern Language Association, during which she said, “I live in a rather special world. I only know one person who voted for Nixon. Where they are I don’t know. They’re outside my ken. But sometimes when I’m in a theater I can feel them”

Then Fredericka of cnn #FakeNews chimes in,

You know, so many teachers have arms open. They want to hug their kids.

Right Fredericka, they are only capable of giving hugs, cause they’re women, right? If someone came in to hurt them, be it a crazed kid, pedophile, the unibomber, Chucky the killer clown, or muslims #ReligionOfPieces ala Beslan, they would only want to stand there and hug, they wouldn’t want to stop the SOB in it’s tracks right? Cause well, they’re women, and that’s all they can do? I have a hunch that “open arms” excuse is crap because in this age of #MeToo, I really doubt too many teachers feel safe to “hug” their students.

Ahh Tom and Fredericka, both up to cnn #FakeNews highest journalistic standards.

CNN has standards? Who knew!

So let’s talk about those elusive, at least for cnn #FakeNews journalistic standards.

From The Washington Examiner, No one would accept, in any other national discussion, the level of ignorance seen in the gun debate

Weinstein is correct when he writes, “The onus should be on those citizens who own the weapons technology, and purport to understand it, to share that understanding with the skeptical and less-informed.”

Beauchamp also notes that there’s a big difference between correcting a gun control advocate who’s “actually writing the legislation” versus “a random citizen deciding whether to support a new [assault weapons ban].”

And this is why that open discussion often doesn’t take place.

Because gun ban proponents don’t want to have a discussion. They just want to fling poo. The article continues.

It’s the ignorance of lawmakers, gun control activists, and media commentators that is inexcusable and insulting. Understanding the issue is the bare minimum required of their respective professions. Yet, so many simply refuse to learn the topic.

It’s things like Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., saying she opposes “rapid-fire magazines,” whatever those are. It’s things like Sen. Martin Heinrich, D-N.M., calling for a ban on “gas-assisted receiver firearms,” which are not real. It’s things like professional cable news commentator Steve Schmidt saying it’s harder to buy cough medicine than an AK-47, which is a damned, stupid lie.

No one would ever accept this level of ignorance and dishonesty in a similarly serious and emotionally charged debate.

No one would cheer if a pundit said it’s easier to get a late-term abortion than Sudafed. His audience would ask to see his homework. No one would shrug it off if a legislator incorrectly referred to a “trimester” as a “semester.”

……

Hell, no one would accept this level of ignorance from a traffic report. If a journalist referred to a pickup truck as an “auto-style speedbox,” he would rightly be laughed off the air.

Apparently neither Tom or Fredericka are aware that many everyday women are far more prepared to defend their animals, themselves and their homes than “progressive” women are to defend their children. It amuses me to think of the potential number of women these two twits may have passed on the street that are carrying concealed weapons.

I’m sure it would be a shock to them to know there are books with such topics covered. The Cornered Cat: A Woman’s Guide to Concealed Carry

There are great women’s concealed carry holsters.

There are beautiful custom handmade holsters.

There are shops with all kinds of amazing gear for women.

There are concealed carry purses.

So what it boils down to, Tom, is you are an ignorant, misogynistic, condescending miserable excuse for a man.

Women are capable of far more than you can even dream of. We cut down trees, we raise animals, children, work in the military, law enforcement, are legislators, take care of people and we can not only carry a firearm, we can deploy it and save the life of someone we care about. A concept foreign to you, the Sheriff of Coward county, and Captain Jan Jordan, who directed deputies to stage and form a perimeter outside Stoneman Douglas High School, rather than immediately entering the building during the mass shooting.

And ya’ll, ya’ll are the “professionals” that you and your ilk want us to leave our safety, and the safety of our families in your hands?  Oh HECK no. No thanks you miserable wretch. Bless your heart.

Because us real women?  WE can do pretty ok.

Do #WeRemember?

Holocaust memorial day was 27th January 2018. There were a lot of hashtags on Twitter, and I saw some good, thoughtful FaceBook posts. The hashtags #WeRemember #NeverAgain #Holocaust and #HolocaustMemorial were almost everywhere, but that could just be the people and groups I tend to follow.

But I think if we are really to honor the six million Jews and five million other souls lost in the Holocaust it should impact how we live today, the choices we make to an extent. If we look at it as to an extent they live on through us, I believe it applies. So you won’t be surprised I have a few random thoughts here.

While we talk about remember the Holocaust, we have this St. Peters Business Removes Star Patch, Says It’s ‘No Longer Relevant’ Under Trump now their yellow star said “Gun Owner”, not Jew. But while President Trump doesn’t hate us like Obama and about every other Demoncrat, no matter what they say, too many in Germany thought they would never have anything to worry about, they would never have thought there would be a day they would be forced to wear a yellow star. Side note, if you are horrified that those are no longer available, we can help you out with that. http://zelmanpartisans.com/?page_id=972

What else gets forgotten, or there are attempts to revise the past? Poland for one. For those unaware, there has been a bit of a “kerfluffle” of late regarding Poland’s participation in the atrocities. Namely, death camps. Some Polish politicians are maintaining there were never any Polish death camps. People had their accounts turned into Twitter for writing Polish death camps. Why would anyone do such a thing? Because Poland

It is arrogant and blatantly false – and they know perfectly well that they are imposing lies. It is really too much, Poland, telling us what to call your far too many accomplices to the annihilation of Jewish people during WWII, and your threatening everyone, even beyond the Polish borders, with fines and up to three years’ imprisonment.

And

My students are always hugely surprised at one point, every year – it is when I tell them of the vile anti-Semitism in Poland which swept the country in the late1960s and thereafter.

“How come? – they ask. – In Poland, after the war, just 10% of the Jewish population was left alive, 38.000 people out of 3.47 million before the war. After the war, another 160 000 Polish Jews were returned to Poland from the territory of the USSR, and 20-40 000 Jews came there from Germany. Three quarters of those people moved to Israel immediately in the period between 1945 and 1948 precisely because of the outburst of brutal anti-Jewish Polish violence in Poland.

There were approximately 40 000 Jews left in Poland from 1950s onward, most of whom concealed their Jewish origin, a phenomenon widely known to everyone in Poland. And then in 1968, new anti-Jewish hysteria burst out – so mightily, so widely spread and so violent that without any Nazis around, more than 90% of those poor 40.000 had to flee their homes and their country. How is it humanly possible? “ my students ask me repeatedly. And I reply: “Humanly it is impossible. But inhumanly it is and was.”

And I would point out also today in France, the UK and Germany it can be necessary to hide your identity. The whole article is well worth reading at Polish complicity in distorting the truth

If you are unsure what this is all about, Poland’s President Andrzej Duda Polish President says country didn’t take part in Holocaust as well as the persecution after.

His comments came amid an uproar over a bill approved by the Polish parliament that would outlaw public statements assigning to “the Polish nation” responsibility for crimes committed by Nazi Germany during its World War II occupation of Poland.

Violations of the proposed law would be punishable by fines or prison terms of up to three years.

Whitewashing the wall of history will not change it. But it does make it easier to perpetuate again. As I’ve written before, there are schools in California teaching it didn’t happen. Or having students do homework assignments using only web sites the teachers allow to reach “their own conclusions” on whether or not it happened.

Are there already circumstances in motion that could be harbingers? I’m sure the Jews in Poland didn’t expect a burst of anti-Semitic activity following WWII, in the 50s and 60s. But it happened.

Of course CNN #FakeNews weighed in on it, CNN Hack Ana Navarro Compares McCabe’s ‘Removal’ From FBI to Holocaust

Well, there is this The hypocrisy of World Holocaust Memorial Day again, this is a very good column.

The anti-Semitism practiced by the Palestinian leadership of Mahmoud Abbas, a partner of Western countries, is now blatant. In Egypt, Abbas just said that European Jews during the Shoah chose to suffer “massacres” rather than emigrate to Palestine (no official European declaration condemned him).

A few days ago, in Brussels, Yuli Edelstein, president of the Knesset, condemned the hypocrisy of those who honor the memory but accuse Israel of “war crimes”, dialogue with Hamas and do not see the Jews who hide the star of David.

The leftist intelligentsia is the master of this clever anti-Semitism. In commemorating the Holocaust, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, a “friend” of Hamas and Hezbollah, “forgot” to mention the Jews.

One of the other points raised in it, is the threat Iran represents, and why. You know, the Iran for whom Obama lifted the sanctions? And pushed the nuclear deal signed by only Demoncrats, those strong “supporters” of Israel, the one Jewish state? Obama, the First Jewish President. I wouldn’t get too excited about that, he was also

First gay president

If he really loves the Jewish people he sure has a funny way of showing love to his “brethren”. His former secretary of state, John Kerry #KetchupHeiress has been going around telling Abu Mazen to ignore President Trump, he’ll be gone in a year, urging him to be strong in his goals. You know, like denying the Holocaust and killing Israeli Jews and visiting Americans #TaylorForce. Abu Mazen has his panties in a twist that President Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capitol and is refusing to hand over American dollars that will be used to pay Arab killers and their families. For example the ones that recently killed Rabbi Raziel Shevah, father of six and paramedic volunteer. Abu Mazan was one of those that went to the family of the killer to pay a condolence call.

Abu Mazen and the KetchupHeiress

THIS is Jewish identity barry, not your terrorist worshiping appeasement.

And so the Falestinians are pitching a hissy fit, again. President Trump is not backing down. Report: Trump Prepared to Kick Palestinians Out of Washington Good. I’ll get you the cowboy boots to do it with.

America, the sane part, sees them for what they are. But the Falestinians aren’t the only internal threat that Israelis face. Americans either for that matter. There are the infiltrators, my last column was on that. But some have compared the Holocaust survivors fleeing to Israel, to the infiltrators. They are not the same. And Israel is not treating the same as the British sinking boats of Jews coming to Israel. Yeah, the British, you know, like Jeremy Corbyn. Rabbi Ariel points out that what Israel is offering them, money and a ticket out is a good deal and does not conflict with the Torah. Just by the by, some of the Kibbutzim are offering to hide the infiltrators. Sound familiar? The Rabbi says, “you want them? Come and get them, but you are responsible for them”.

Dr. Michael Ben-Ari and Baruch Marzel have a similar approach, I would actually support this in the U.S. perhaps.

Dr. Michael Ben-Ari and Baruch Marzel arrived in southern Tel Aviv today and distributed leaflets to infiltrators in Tigrinya, the language spoken by natives of Eritrea and parts of Ethiopia.

The leaflets contain addresses and phone numbers of left-wing activists and Meretz MKs who have backed the demand by some infiltrators to be given legal status in Israel. Marzel and Ben-Ari encouraged infiltrators to avail themselves of the leftist activists’ “hospitality” personally by providing the activists’ personal contact information in mock invitations.

The bottom line is this, as my much admired Jack Engelhard points out in his column Immigration hustle

Liberals are counting on illegals to vote Democrat, which means millions of votes and never again will a Republican get into the White House, not even as a guest. Plus, Congress, both houses, will be filled by people who look and sound like Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and Dick Durbin; according to the plan Liberals have mapped out for themselves.

And

The larger the number, the larger the anti-Semitism.

Wish I could use the Academic-Speak in which these deeply-funded STUDIES arrive, but being from the Hemingway, James M. Cain, Charles Bukowski school of writing, I don’t speak or write that language. But the “studies show” that countries that bring them in suffer from additional anti-Semitism, above the ho-hum Jew-hatred already in place.

In places such as Germany…and Sweden…and France…and England…and Belgium…and, well, to get back to Germany, six million Muslims (mostly men without women) got there since Merkel took over the country and the continent. “Studies show” that since then, anti-Semitism has spiked off-the-charts, and Jews foolish enough to stay there – or anywhere in Europe – desist from identifying themselves as Jews.

Everywhere in Western Europe it’s pretty much the same – but to know this we need Studies, Surveys, Statistics?

It’s a living, I guess, for all those who live in Think Tanks.

I could have told you that for free.

Not so easy these days. Israeli Strong

So while we are hashtagging #WeRemember, let’s look at the things that set up circumstances for a repeat performance.

Because #NeverAgain is far more my mindset, and yes, I know they are a parody account. But that doesn’t mean the mindset doesn’t exist, with them, with me. With you?

Dads, the original Superheroes

Pretty impressive eh?? Especially since it seems that TV and advertisers seem to delight in portraying men as foolish and incompetent, sort of window dressing to the family.

Dumbing down Dad: How media present husbands, fathers as useless

It’s not hard to find. If you watch TV, then you’ve most likely witnessed the portrayal of the modern-day husband and father as lazy, incompetent and stupid.

Just these three characteristics are sure to bring to mind one commercial or sitcom that personifies this type of man.

Or perhaps TV sitcoms’ working-class fathers depicted as ‘bumbling,’ ‘incapable,’ study finds

An analysis of 13 fathers in 12 recent TV sitcoms and their 699 interactions with their minor children showed that working-class fathers continued to be depicted less positively than middle-class fathers, said study author Jessica Troilo, assistant professor of child development and family studies at West Virginia University.

This follows the kind of pattern seen, wherein TV working-class fathers are typified as “kind of bumbling” and “incapable,” compared to middle-class fathers, Ms. Troilo said.

Not mine. My dad was John Wayne, Roy Rogers and Pa Walton all rolled into one. He thought if I wanted to learn to rebuild a carburetor, put on tie rod ends or throw a football I should learn and he taught me. He did insist my sisters and I all knew how to safely change a tire.

But I watched a few of these hero dad videos with interest. A friend of mine had posted a similar compilation on Facebook and it got me to thinking. These guys have lighting quick reflexes when it comes to saving their kids, and sometime the kids of others. But what about the mindset?  Because that matters.

I thought about the stories that come everyday, when men are hero husbands and dads, and they all had one thing in common. Every single one of them. If I give you a snippet, can you figure it out??

Father Dining With Family

The father told police the gunman turned the gun on his family, at which point he pulled out his own handgun and shot the robber.

Armed Robber Breaks Into Home

The sheriff’s office says the homeowner woke up to his dogs barking and the back door open. The homeowner reportedly armed himself and approached the back door. He then saw that Yang was armed with a firearm so the homeowner fired his gun and hit the suspect twice.

The homeowner’s wife and his two children were both home during the altercation.

Yang dropped his weapon and dropped to the ground but got up and ran away from the home. Yang reportedly went to other houses looking for help, and Collinsville police later found him lying in the street not far from the home he tried to break into. Investigators found multiple firearms.

Fort Worth Homeowner

While on the phone with 911, police say the intruder continued making threats on the family and trashing items inside the house, then we’re told he attempted to run towards one of the rooms.

At that point investigators tell CBS11 the father fired at the unidentified man killing him inside the home.

Police also say the suffered a stab wound from the intruder who was armed with a knife.

Quick-Thinking Dad

The harrowing ordeal unfolded on Tuesday night when Amber Brackney was leaving her home in Baker, Florida, and noticed that her driveway was blocked by mysterious barrels.

Rather than get out of the car, Brackney called her father, Terry Brackney, 51, who was inside the home and attempted to navigate around the barrels, which police believe might have been intentionally placed in an effort to snatch the teen.

As his daughter got around the barrier, Terry Brackney heard some strange sounds coming from outside and immediately grabbed his gun and jumped into action, according to a police report from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.

“After spotting some individuals trying to force their way into his garage, he fired three shots and the intruders fled into the woods,” the report read. “He later learned they had unscrewed some of his security lights.”

Houston Father Saves Family

A family in Houston, Texas, was relaxing in their home Sunday when three armed men suddenly entered and demanded money. Before the intruders could steal anything, however, the father used his own firearm to shoot two of them. The third intruder ran away from the scene and is still at large.

Yes, I could go on with more examples, but I’m sure you have all figured it out by now. They were all wearing Justin cowboy boots! Naw, just kidding. They were all armed and prepared and willing to do any and every thing necessary to protect their families.

You would think that the media would celebrate these sorts of rescues as they do the ones in the videos. But they do not. It seems they will warble on about how risky, how dangerous, how lucky they didn’t accidentally shoot their child or spouse instead of the undocumented house-guest. But John Lott has an interesting column that points out just how politicized the FBI became under sotero/obama.

A 2014 FBI report claims that only once between 2000 and 2013 did a concealed handgun permit holder stop a public shooting (they claimed to look at all cases where guns were fired in public that weren’t part of a gang fight or some other crime). This single case occurred in Winnemucca, Nevada in May 2008, when a customer with a permit fatally shot an attacker who had just killed two people. They didn’t even include the 2007 church shooting in Colorado Springs, where a killer had already taken two lives at the church before being stopped by a permit holder.

This false claim just shows how politicized the FBI became under the Obama administration. Many times, police, sheriffs, and prosecutors have gone on the record and credited permit holders with saving many lives. These attacks didn’t get national news attention, but they would have been on front pages everywhere if a permit holder hadn’t intervened.

He goes on to list other cases, and here is the link to the study from the FIB he references.

I think that there is just something hardwired into us, that as adults we protect the young, weak and vulnerable, or those with whom we have a connection. Be it children, siblings, elderly parents, friends and yes, our pets. They are like human children, only furrier, or with feathers.

But if you want or need more motivation to carry the most effective tool to protect your kith, kin and kitty, there is a great column by John Conner called “Why Do You Carry A Gun?” It is well worth reading.

I know it isn’t Father’s Day, but really, shouldn’t there be more than one day a year to say thank you to the hero fathers that save kids from baseball bats, drowning, falling off horses, into pits and tie our shoe laces and teach us to change tie rod ends? I think so. I wish I told mine more.
